This case is so sad . My folks are about the age of Bob . Even though it's hard to think about every few years we have a family meeting where the ' after' plans are discussed. I hate it because I don't want to think about it. But both my folks had huge family disarray at the passing of their own parents, so they are trying to eliminate that . The kids in those families were fighting over pictures and dishes and not speaking for months. It nearly tore the family apart. So note from Bob's case, discuss with the elders in your life OR if you are the elder, then discuss with your kids how you want things to go in the event of your passing. It's sad but could save a lot of heart ache.
For example, my folks' house is very nice and worth a lot. I'd rather them sell it now and move somewhere smaller and enjoy the extra $$ made on the sale to take trips and do what they want. That's part of my inheritance,,,,,,, but I don't care. I want them to have fun. They made the money, enjoy it ! I cannot ever imagine a life so greedy and selfish I would consider offing a parent to get my hands on ' their ' money and the stupid thing is .... at 81 years old, sad to say, they didn't have that much longer to wait anyway.

JeM had a key, didn't he? How did he let the housekeeper in?

JeM had a key, didn't he? How did he let the housekeeper in?

That is the million dollar question.

Just after Mr. Harrod disappeared, articles stated that JeM went around to the back door of Mr. Harrod's house to get in. I have surmised that he then would have walked through the house and let the housekeeper in the front door.

So, either the back door was left unlocked or JeM had keys to the house but did not want the housekeeper to know.

Why would the back door be unlocked if, as JeM has stated, Mr. Harrod was alive and well when JeM left on one of his errands?

Respectfully snipped. I think that is a wonderful POV. Let them enjoy what they earned...for sure.

Not to derail this thread, but I have mixed emotions regarding the ID show. On the one hand I am thrilled it got Mr. Harrod's case out there. On the other, I feel like... when will someone finally produce a show that talks not only about a case- but likely routes of travel of the MP (or routes of transportation if the MP is deceased) ? I mean, it is evident that Mr. Harrod did not take a walk and accidentally fall in a drainage ditch or whatever. Why is that info never included??

Ok off rant- sorry ya'll!

Ahhh, I see. Thank you. Could he have had a key to the back door, but not the front? Just a thought. All three doors to my home are keyed differently.

Technically speaking, if no one in the family had a key of their own, wouldn't they have all been trespassing? Especially in the days following Bob's disappearance? Maybe I'm over thinking things, but I personally wouldn't be in my parent's house changing sheets and what-not unless I had an open invitation to be in their home (which I do.) Still, if one of them were missing, the ONLY reason I would be in their home would be to look for a clue as to where they could be. Sheets would be the last thing on my mind. I guess the point I'm trying to make is that, even though I have a key and an open invitation, I NEVER enter my parent's home without their knowledge. If they were missing, I would look for clues-with LE assistance, but I'd also be VERY concerned about foul play and disturbing any potential evidence. The sheet thing to me is just beyond bizarre.

Speaking of bizarre...am I the only one that finds it strange that the family came to greet Fontelle, and then left her alone in that house? Didn't any of the daughters offer to have Fontelle stay with them?

This is a great point because my daughter, who knows nothing of the case, was bombarding me with questions about where Bob could've possibly walked to.

Some information on how Fontelle was treated by the daughters after Mr. Harrod went missing.

Fontelle waits for answers in Bob's home. His daughters stopped talking to her soon after their father disappeared. Roberta and Paula have filed a claim in probate court for control of Bob's estate. The judge hearing the matter has not issued a ruling.

Fontelle Harrod said several days after Bob Harrod disappeared, his three daughters came to his house where Fontelle was staying and told her she wasn't entitled to any of their father's assets.

According to records from Orange County Probate Court, Brady and Borcher filed a petition for conservatorship to gain control of their father's assets Aug. 7.

Jumping off my own post here...

If they were so concerned about Fontelle's comfort, did they also make sure that the house was stocked with food? Paper products? Clean, fluffy towels?

Quite a few questions cropped up here about that subject too. I do think it might be a good idea for the episodes to show a few maps and shots of at least the local terrain. In the way history documentaries often do.

There are people out there who are really good at that kind of stuff, and it would give a lot of minds something to mull over and perhaps come up with ideas that might help. Someone seeing their own street or local area come up on TV might get a memory triggered too - you never know. I'm still hoping that might be the case here.

Take special note of what is said starting at about 16:35 into the episode.

I agree. When they show Mr. Harrod walking out his front door it is misleading.

I doubt Mr. Harrod left his house alive that day. In any case, I am sure he did not leave by his own free will.

:floorlaugh:

The girls made a play for Bob's trust accounts on August 7, and didnt actually become appointed until March of 2010.

In the interest of transparency, it would be nice if they would file an audit for 2009. IIRC, they filed one from May 2010-May 2011 but only after some serious foot dragging. The audits are due every 180 days.

Now, we know that since they werent court appointed until March 2010, they couldnt possibly have taken distribution of any funds prior to that time. So at least Bob's estate was intact for that period of time.

Right?

Oh well. So much for the minutiae...

Where is Bob? And why didnt AH appear anywhere in the video I wonder? He was Johnny on the spot for the welfare check and he kindly pointed out to PPD that there was fighting in the family.

Daughter RB:(speaking about the family meeting and motive) " I do not suspect anyone in my family. The fact that he disappeared the following day is strictly coincidental. "

Yep. Completely disputes the assertion made by daughter that Bob was terrified of driving on freeways.

Huh...odd.
