You have a gift, zwiebel.

That's all very well, but I want to be phenomenal. Like Larry Montgomery.

I acknowledge that what he did in the Lynsie Ekelund case was wonderful, but I've been reading about his work on the William (Bill) McLaughlin case too. I really like that. It all came down to timelines - and money. And he nailed it. That there was a window of opportunity to kill Bill, plus a strong money motive, helped convince a jury to bring in a guilty verdict.

When my grandparents got to that age the number of friends dwindled down for obvious reasons. Bob might have still had some but could they have helped search? Probably not.
But- whenever a sympathetic character goes missing there are plenty of people- strangers or mere acquaintances- who are willing to step up to find that person. Especially when Bob's case was all over the news.

I wasn't suggesting his friends of the same age would have been able to help - although undoubtedly some could because I'm guessing many would have quite a bit of power and 'clout' behind them at that age. Even if they didn't have the physical abilities. I do think the younger members of their families would have also helped though; especially ones related to older people who knew Bob through organisations like the church or masons.

I totally agree though that sympathetic strangers would have helped - if only because Bob and Fontelle's love story had touched so many people. Still would, I would hope.

While casting my eyes around to find the results of the Placentia photography competition (still hoping something about Bob will make the finals) I found these photos.

Placentia. An Oktoberfest. With a bartender in short sleeves, the sun shining and beer being sold in little paper cups (third row down). I'm laughing myself silly imagining what the Germans would make of that:

Here's a pic of a typical German one:

The photo competition was judged on May 10th by the way, but the results don't seem to have been announced yet. It's a very long shot, I know, but no harm in hoping.....

ETA: So are there a lot of Germanic families in Placentia does anyone think?

No wonder people organize public searches - I've just found out what a relatively short-lived one costs....$160,000!

Remember the two lost hikers in Trabuca Canyon who were rescued? It was for that search. Now OC Sheriff's Dept is considering charging the male, Nicolas Cendoya, with the cost of the rescue because they found meth in his car.

OC authorities aren't slow to pursue people they feel have wasted their money, are they?

"Georgia is predeceased by her parents and recently her brother Paul. She is survived by her husband of 57 years Robert; daughters Paula, Roberta, and Julie (Jeffrey); grandson Andrew (Trisha); great-grandchild ren Joseph, Sarah, and Jacob; her pomeranian Sassy, and very special caregiver Maria. Georgia was able to enjoy her last week at home with the dignity of Hospice care and the love of family and friends. Services will be private with the scattering of her ashes at sea. Donations in her memory may be made to the City of Hope or US Navy Memorial."

Is Andrew still married to Trisha? If Andrew did something to Bob, one would think his wife would know...

BBM. You would think, but I dont know if they have the same symbiotic relationship his parents seem to have. Clearly she knows of his financial issues-IIRC her name and signature appear on most of the documents attached to that massive loan.

I love that Sassy was mentioned.

It seems strange to me that TH didn't have to attend the deposition along with AH, if that's the case. I'd have thought they would both be equally responsible for what happened to the money, if both their names were on the documents?

I agree, AH's wife, if she is listed as a co-signer in the loans, she should have been at the deposition along with AH. I don't think she can be compelled to testify against him per se, but she can definitely testify to what she herself knows about the loans and repayment schedule/termination stipulations (including whether she also thought that upon Bob Harrod's death, all debts resulting their loans with him would be forgiven) and such. Hmm...

Correct me if I'm wrong but the only grandchildren Bob has is from AH's marriage?

I happen to have those documents printed out and at hand. (never did finish transcribing the whole thing) and I can verify that Trish was a signatory. It's blacked out but knowing what I am looking for, yes, it's clear that it is her.

Personally I don't think AH had any direct involvement in Bob's disappearance.
However he is in the position of laying low and not asking any questions.
Sure would like to see that confidential agreement!

I do think AH's activities with grandpa's monies are part of the multi-layered motives.

Tell his wife? nah, he doesn't remember a thing. ;)

The deposition never made it into court. No judge ever saw it.

She doesn't claim Placentia as ever being her home.

I wonder why AH would have called Mrs Harrod's attorney looking for a criminal atty referral? :waitasec:

sorry for the almost duplicate.

When I ponder folks who might have had a hand in the crime against Bob, I keep going back to the Disappeared video that showed a white SUV instead of a Black SUV. I am committed to the belief that this was a message from PPD to someone.
