He lists EMT on his CV but I don't think he's kept up his registration. Georgia's brother had an interest in that too. I wonder if it's a maternal side of the family thing?

O/T I was just on the phone with Mr Z discussing Bob's site, when the call was drowned out by shouts and yells and heaven knows what. I didn't know if I should hang up, hang on, call LE or what. Turns out he had popped out of the pool hall to call me and a hen party of very tall, athletic Czech ladies had mobbed him for no reason other than he looked a bit intimidated. He was mobbed in a nice way though, and I'm sure he'll recover in time to help with updates and maybe geothingummies too. This also happened to him in Vegas. With ladies wearing feathers, which he's allergic to. Must be the shy, bumbling Englishman look that does it.

I never get mobbed. Me and the mutt are far too scruffy and grumpy looking. Especially first thing in the morning.

I just thought - Bob, Georgia, RB's hubby and PB's hubby all have military connections, don't they? So JeM and AH would kind of be the odd ones out in the male line, if they don't have military connections too.

It has always mystified me that Bob is a marine veteran and yet has had no support at all from the boys. I didn't realise there was a time limit on help for a brother-in-arms. Or maybe the brothers just haven't been made properly aware he's missing yet.

"hen party"? Haha...that is a great name for a bachelorette party! (right?) Not sure why they had feathers though

On the subject of the Disappeared episode, I find it VERY interesting that daughter JuM, her husband JeM and their son AH did not participate in the show. JeM was the last person to see Mr. Harrod and JuM is all over her local forum posting continuously. Not to mention all of the loans from Mr. Harrod to his grandson AH.

I just got through the Disappeared episode and have been combing through these threads hoping for some good news. I wanted to make sure I wasn't insulting anyone when I said "The SIL did it, probably with help" It seems so obvious.

Shocked to hear about the bullying, fraud and slander. Didn't see that coming. What a group. I think Bob was eager to snag Fontelle so he'd have someone on his side for once.

Thank you Believe for having Bob in your siggy... led me here!

It dawned on me that only 2 sisters interviewed. That made me wonder. Seeing some of the choice tidbits from earlier threads... you gotta wonder. Maybe they were advised not to make any public statements?

Respectfully snipped to address...

Shana, could I ask if you have a theory about what has happened to Mr Harrod? Thank you!

Sure you can ask me, minusfour!

The answer is No. The simple reason is that I do not have enough legitimate information to unravel this 4-yr old mystery. As well, I do not judge based on msm or a handful of court docs, nor would I name as culpable any victim family member either. These are my heart-held principles, fwiw.

I would suggest that you (and/or anyone new to case) read not just the current thread but the 14 others preceding it, starting at the beginning. That's how I learned the most about the case and switched my brief original take on it. In addition, I searched the net for more detail on live boards, not defunct ones in which I had not participated.

Probably TMI anyway...I'm tuckered-out this night, having been on the SMC thread all day since the incident occurred. I hope my answer above suffices.

I think I finally worked out that we wouldn't necessarily have to put a cache anywhere; we can ask people looking for an existing one to BOLO for Bob. Is that right?

It would be good to have something like those little tags though, maybe to 'award' to geocachers helping in the search? If they were rare and hard to get, they might attract some really dedicated searchers.

Just an idea.

I didn't know we used different names! It's hen and stag parties in England. I can kind of understand why stag is used, but no idea about the hen. Bachelor and bachelorette sound much more sensible.

This map here from the Geocacher's site - this is copyrighted and is also updated all the time, so we couldn't use that.

But I was wondering if anyone would think it is worth looking at where those caches are, and making our own map of where we would especially like people to be on the lookout? I have always favored the gypsum Canyon area, but there's a big blank space there, so I'm wondering if caches are forbidden. They have a jeep trail there, so I don't really see why they should be.

I feel sure you are right. One of JuM's friends did offer on the community forum to provide her with the name of a 'low-cost' lawyer because they were sorry to hear JeM was being 'hassled' by police.

I always wondered about that. Most people with missing loved ones are happy to answer all police questions, again and again. In fact often, the complaint seems to be that police aren't paying enough attention to the case. But somebody appears to have given the community the impression JeM was being hassled, and I wonder who that could have been.

The daughters silence around JeM is absolutely deafening to me. Not one of them appears to have actually asked JeM exactly what time Bob could have disappeared, or sat down with him and tried to pin down an exact time. Not one of them in a gazillion posts appear to have stepped forward and said JeM told them he went out at this or that time, Bob was gone when he got back, they believe him and so that is the time Bob must have disappeared.

Even PB, who has come nearest to saying JeM told her what time Bob could have disappeared, did it indirectly on NAMUS;

"....overheard my BIL saying he was going to the hardware store"

It's almost as if she was trying to distance herself a little from the fact that probably makes her the only person able to corroborate that JeM did actually leave the house that day, at that time.

Lol, I'd be a terrible client for a lawyer. If Mr Z went missing a lawyer could tell me until they were blue in the face that I shouldn't make any public statements.

I'd be too busy making public statements to listen to them.

Wish I'd known about the mud run at Camp Pendleton. We might have been able to sponsor a runner to wear a t-shirt with info about our missing, former marine.
http://www.pendleton.marines.mil/Pe...endleton-marks-20-years-of-muddy-running.aspx

It would obviously have been covered in mud fairly quickly, but it would have been a great way to get Bob's name known among the military, and highlight the fact he is a former marine.

I found it all very interesting, too, Angelo.

There is a lot of wagon-circling going on where the Michaels family is concerned. It's not that people want someone/anyone in that family to be guilty of something, it's that their silence gives people the impression that someone is guilty of something, and needs their protection.

It's more common, than not, for the last person known to have been associated/seen with a victim to be scrutinized closely. This forum is filled with cases where those folks have been open, and helpful to the best of their ability. Even if one comes across a corpse accidentally. The "finder" makes a statement of some kind, and is "looked at".

What does this family think is so different about the way the Michaels family is being treated, compared to other families of victims? Some people in the family aren't looked on with high esteem, because they've behaved shamefully, which is NOT the fault of the public, or the police.

Snipped by Me :)

I feel he should have been in the "Disappeared" episode to show family solidarity, correct the incorrect timeline concerning himself, and discuss the black SUV.

I feel the police need to come forward with the complete timeline, so that people can look back into their memories, as to whether or not they saw Bob that day. It really should have been done back in 2009 within 48 hours of his disappearance. For example: Did anyone see Robert Merle Harrod, between 1:00 pm and 3:30 pm on July 27, 2009? In other cases, the police have made helpful statements to the press.

I agree with regards to JeM, but he won't because he won't further incriminate himself.

As for LE releasing more info on the timeline, I have to respectfully disagree. I think the timeline is going to play a big part in prosecuting this case due to the numerous inconsistencies. No point in playing those cards before trial.

Reposting, as this bears repeating:

We will never get answers to these questions, because the truth goes against their agenda - My VERY strong opinion.

Thank you, Cubby! :rose:

There are only rumors about Mrs. Harrod's previous life style from Bob's daughters. Another fine example of the daughters desperate attempts to push away anyone from seeking answers into Bob's disappearance.

Come to think of it, why didn't Paula reveal that Bob asked her about finding Fontelle several months prior to the call Bob recieved from Fontelle?

Why did Paula and the other daughters make up stories about Fontelle feeding or brainwashing Bob into having memories of their relationship that were not his own memories?

I can't get past so much information that was purposely withheld when it could have cleared up the confusion from the beginning..... It makes no sense for family members of a missing person to purposely withhold so much information if they were not involved.

Non involved persons don't make up the stories they did, and send people on wild goose chases like they did. They just don't.

ETA: According to LE via MSM Fontelle comes from a solid middle class family. According to Roberta in the disappeared show, nothing about her fathers life style was indicative of his wealth. That is one (of very few) area that both LE and Bob's daughters agree upon and it's one of many things that rules out the far sight better theory for me.

  • #1,099
That is VERY important, isn't it? The fact that Bob asked PB to trace Fontelle long before she contacted him? That absolutely puts to bed all those 'out there' theories about Fontelle somehow finding out Bob was wealthy and tracking him down and convincing Bob they were once engaged when really he didn't know her etc, etc.

I think I am going to ask a mod nicely if they can add that bit of info to Bob's timeline, because it is crucial.

A lovely poster has agreed to make a nice map for us when they can, everyone. So suggestions about locations would be welcome, so I can sort of gather and sift the info to help. Nothing too technical, please. The SAR thread is the place for that. It is wonderful to see the activity taking place there, but completely terrifying and mystifying to me!

Are we all kind of agreed that the maximum reaches of where Bob might be will be within 90 mins or less driving time?

ETA: From Carnation Drive, Placentia.

This 'Arrival/Departure at Fullerton airport video, with pilot Andrew Harrod in a brand new Cessna plane, could that be Bob's grandson, AH? (Far right, bottom)

It is absolutely all over the web, and if it is a relative of Bob's, I wish they could attach Bob's missing flyer to it somehow. I wonder who owned the plane? I bet they are expensive, aren't they?
