OC seems to have more than its fair share of complicated, financial-based cases and offences. But prosecutors and investigators do seem good at getting to the bottom of them. 15 doctors and medical professionals have just been indicted now, over an alleged huge financial scam in 2009, that prosecution says resulted in the death of a baby.

It's taken them five years to bring the case to court, but sometimes I guess these cases with money at the heart of them just take time to figure out.

My search for an 'everlasting' piece of petrified wood for Mr and Mrs Harrod's wedding anniversary has gone a long, long way, but I think I may have left it too late. I have someone looking in the far east of Europe at the moment. It's my last hope. I doubt it can be sent to me in time even if it's found, but a photo will do.

Keep your fingers crossed. I'm running out of time.

Okay, my search for wood has stopped in Hungary, of all places! No connection at all with Bob, but I failed on the search for petrified wood, to mark the fifth wedding anniversary of Bob and Fontelle. I also became aware it may not be an entirely good idea to encourage the sale of ancient wood......

Someone in Hungary found me a lovely wood carving of an older couple dancing though, so I went with that. It is just amazing that the story of Bob and Fontelle is enough to get strangers continents away, providing help and support.

It is unlikely the carving will reach me in time though, and the kind person is taking photos, just in case.

.....they are terrible at taking photos. :(

It's clear to me LE doesn't have enough to arrest and someone wanted to make sure that his new wife, never made it to the alter to collect on his millions. This is parricide, imo. nothing more nothing less. I'd be scouring every property they own.

Fontelle and Bob did make it to the altar Cherry. They only went to book the wedding, but were asked if they wanted to go ahead right then and said yes.

Family didn't know until afterwards.

Bob disappeared just before he had the chance to add Fontelle to his accounts - he left a note saying he was going to do so.

ETA: Bob seemed like a list man, so he had a lot of little 'to do' notes around.

Bob disappeared just two days before Mrs Harrod was due to return from her visit to MO.

Someone managed to disappear him in the very short time left where his wife was guaranteed not to be in the house.

Unknown to anyone but themselves though, Bob had arranged for his housekeeper to come to his house, the day he disappeared. She discovered he was missing when he didn't open the door and hadn't left the key in the mailbox for her. She knew immediately, something wasn't right.

I agree with Cherry. I think the person responsible for Bob's disappearance is someone who did not want his new wife's name signed onto his accounts and will, therefore keeping her out of Bob's millions and it's most likely parricide.

It's been a while since I saw his episode of Disappeared, but I don't remember his daughters being too pleased about their father's decisions about the marriage and about signing Fontelle onto his accounts. As I said though I might be remembering things wrong, but they always seemed annoyed at Fontelle.

Cases are hard to prove without a body, unfortunately and my heart really breaks for Fontelle. She deserves to have closure and to know where Bob is.

I can only hope the LE are building a case and that's why things have gone quiet!

I'm interested if anyone knows this - Fontelle was meant to live with Bob permanently after returning from Missouri one last time but then he disappeared. Does she still live in Bob's home in California or did she move back to Missouri?

Another thing - did they ever do forensics on Bob's house? Did the housekeeper ever say she heard any sounds inside the house while she was waiting? I'm wondering if an altercation occurred in the house.

I think the timing of the disappearance is the most telling aspect of this case. The contentious family meeting the day before his disappearance, and the indication that no one saw him outside of the home during normal business hours on the day he disappeared. We know that there were notes indicating that he would be adding Fontelle to his estate planning and to his accounts-clearly indicated in writing. There is no dispute that the handwriting is his.

The timing of the disappearance seems to be the key. The question in my mind is whether or not everyone at the meeting can be considered to be suspicious in their actions. Should everyone?

5 years since he disappeared. There is evidence, obviously. There have been multiple searches of the house. There has been hours and hours and many thousands of dollars devoted to gaining access to the millions of dollars Bob had carefully accumulated, but not so much on finding him...on the part of his biological family that is. All media seems to have been generated by his wife.

I hope Bob comes home soon. It is time. There probably isn't any money left, but then again for his wife it was never about the money anyway.

So, we are at the eve of Bob and Fontelle's wedding day, five years ago. Wonder how they felt at this moment?

Gentle excitement, maybe. Tomorrow they were going to book their wedding. For sometime in the future. They probably had little plans about how and when they'd tell their families (you can imagine they thought some family members might need 'careful handling'). Maybe plans for a low-key reception - maybe to be held at one of Bob's old Freemason centers?

They had no idea that by this time tomorrow they'd be man and wife. And that it would result (in my opinion) in the disappearance - and almost certainly murder - of Bob Harrod.

It's a crying shame. I'd swap justice for the return of Bob anyday. Sadly, I don't think thT's an option now.

I think you are new to Bob's thread? If so, welcome! If not...Sorry!

Just a night away from Bob and Fontelle Harrod's wedding anniversary now - if you're in California.

For Bob's Australian supporters, it's already June 29th.

Thinking of Mr and Mrs Harrod on their fifth wedding anniversary.

Always hoping that one day Mrs Harrod will know where he is, and what happened to him.

zwiebel,
That wooden "tribute" is just perfect, IMO. M/M Harrod were supposed to "dance" into their later years. So very sad it did not happen. I think of/pray for them every day and pray that justice will be served.

Thank you for keeping this thread going. I am in awe of the many creative ways you have done just that.

I really like it too. I know I can't pass it to Mrs Harrod, but I'm going to find a special place for it. A huge sleuthing operation went on behind the scenes to get the carving - I wanted to actually get something, and not just a photo. But talk about trains, boats and airplanes.....

Many willing hands make light work though.

I cant say Happy anniversary either, zwie. I guess I can only say that none of the anniversaries that have fallen since his presumed murder have gone unnoticed. I hope Mrs Harrod finds some kind of solace in that. :(

Maybe this will be the year....
