My heart bleeds for Bob everyday. Do you ever get that slightly nervous feeling in your stomach you just wish you had answers? Oh how I wish we had answers for Bob. My almost 8 yr old is so close with his grandpa I can only begin to imagine how the little ones in Bobs life must miss him.

For my almost 8 yr old the world almost resolves around Grandpa. They spend time almost weekly just the two of them. Grandpa has taken my little guy fishing in the UP and my son has lovingly asked why can't me and Grandpa spend the whole summer in Michigan, just me and him.

My heart breaks that Bob (likely) had so much of the rest of his life taken from him. My son even calls him the websleuths (he doesn't say WS yet..) grandpa case.

I just want answers..whatever they are.
and I want Justice for Bob... wherever the chips may fall.
Bob deserves nothing less.

Bob - Help us find those answers and help us find you! We want to SO badly!

thanks for listening....

I thought David Lohr is now with aol news.?
ot...

I think so. I think the discover id disappeared reply was an autoreply since not only has the first season already been taped it has already aired.
Even so, it is nice to know they are passing the info along to numerous other affiliates.

It will happen. I have the faith of a Cub fan (we never give up).... and while that- the Cubs never happens (lol), If anyone remembers, I called it very early the Black Hawks would win the Stanley Cup. It was up there next to my avatar from the first play off series. I knew, I don't know how, I just knew without a doubt they would win the Cup and I know Bobs case will be solved - and I will guess within 8-9 or 18-19 mo's. I cant pinpoint it but the 8 and 9's are sticking out to me for some reason. Or it could be a 9-8 which would be next week..... that would be nice.

Bob we will NEVER stop looking!

I feel the same way. Reading about the way he took care of Georgia when she was sick, never leaving her side and then doing the same for his dog Sassy.

Mr. Harrod deserved to be happy in his remaining years.

I think we will get those answers. Mr. Harrod deserves justice.

Does anyone know when Bob and Georgia married?

In trying to catch up on reading I noticed something which struck me with regards to the 'cold feet' theory.

Reading though the links - particularly this one at project Jason - scroll down to La Vina's post. There is some timeline - I don't know where it came from unless it is in the 70 comments...

Look where they list Bob meets Georgia in August of 1950 and becomes engaged to Georgia in October of 1950. I find it VERY curious they omitted when Bob and Georgia MARRIED. Perhaps because if Bob and Georgia married very soon after their engagement it would have been further proof the Cold Feet theory was nonsense..... IF Bob married someone soon after meeting her and the marriage lasted more than 50 years how would that then be different from him also deciding to marry Fontelle so soon after reuniting.

http://projectjason.org/forums/index.php?topic=6671.0

I'm really curious to know when Bob and Georgia married... and how soon it was after their engagement after only knowing each other two months.

That timeline was part of the original OC Register Oct 8, 2009 article. Not sure why it no longer shows at that link.

At the bottom of the timeline it says: Sources: Roberta Brady, Fontelle Harrod, The Placentia Police Department

You can see the bio/timeline on the OC Register's other page here:

truck bed and cover similiar to the style bed for truck SIL owns. (this is NOT a picture of SIL's truck)

This is JMO but my theory is SIL backed his truck up to the garage and removed Bobs remains in the back of that truck. Bobs car was in the drive closest to the front door - I believe with enough room to open the garage door (it is not a rolling garage door, but swings out and up). All SIL had to do was back that truck up- even partially into the garage and put Bob into that truck bed dead or barely alive. Bobs car would have blocked the view from that side of the home. It looks like the other side is blocked from the neighbors view by landscaping.... Pop open the bed cover and slide Bob in, and close up the Bed.

Who knows how long Bob was in the truck bed.... I wonder when LE took SIL's car for forensic processing. How many days later leaving SIL plenty of time to thoroughly clean the truck and truck bed. The cold feet theory bought them more time.

Of course JMO.

CAExile posted that he thought the SIL had a Honda pickup truck. Do you know the year, make, model, and color of the truck?

I will have to ask the senior mods, admin or Tricia on this one. I will post when I have an answer.

I don't have that answer, perhaps CAExile can answer that question.

I went through some old posts/threads to see if there were any useful mentions of 'truck' or 'Honda', but found little information beyond that. Something that did strike me, though, was that I want to say 'thanks' to CAExile for his objectivity and steadfast loyalty to Bob. You've given us some sincere appraisals and thoughtful recollections of people involved that have forced me, at least, to think twice about some theories. I am curious, though, if your thoughts on what might have happened have changed over time? (Not to ask you what your theory might be, of course, but do some things seem more or less plausible now, to you?) This is an open question to those following Bob's case: did any of your opinions on what might or might not have happened change over time?

In full disclosure, mine did, somewhat -- based on time-line issues and subsequent activities of some people potentially involved.

(All JMO, of course.)

I agree. I too would like to send a huge thank you to CAExile for his steadfast loyalty to Bob. I think we all need to remember it is Bob who is the victim here. CAExiles writings about his friend did a great example of just that.

Also, yes, my mind changed for the same reasons you described Montjoy. After reviewing all the known facts, reading and rereading older media articles and links across the WWW about this case, some things just make no sense.... in otherwords too much trying to fit a square peg into a circular hole. It just doesn't work for me and is a 180 from what I am used to seeing as standard protocal for missing persons cases.

As an aside, imo, I'm glad I came into Bobs case 'late'. It gave me an opportunity to review some facts which seemed to have been long forgotten with fresh eyes and bring them back to the forfront. Just like Bob should be the main focus and at the forfront here.

Maybe this is a bit off-topic, but I think that right now, Bob needs more friends like CAExile. This is true in any missing person's case. To those who might say that there are accounts of Bob's personality (e.g., 'extreme frugality') that would make him seem an unlikely candidate to have many friends, I would say that there is ample evidence to the contrary. He clearly doted on his grandson, helping him join the Masons (and I think I read that he had bought a Model-T to restore for him?). He clearly loved both of his wives, as confusing as it may be for some. If accounts of 'extreme frugality' are true, I can see how some frustration or animosity could grow. Bob wore a number of hats -- literally and figuratively -- and perhaps not all of them (husband, father, man, businessman, Mason, friend, neighbor, soldier, citizen, etc.) fit equally well, which is part of the human condition.

Right now, I'm hoping more of those people who were Bob's friends will step up. I can't guess how many or few they are. But, time flies! Bob needs some justice, and he has friends who can help!

Thinking of Bob today. Stopping in to see updates for him.

Come home soon.

CAExile hasn't logged in since 8-22 :( I hope he hasn't forgotten his old friend. Bob needs all the unbiased friends he can get right now.

In rereading CAExiles blog, I found some interesting info and what might be a misunderstanding and/or discrepancie (sp?) on CA's part. Hopefully he can clarify this for us.......

http://paulkestes.blogspot.com/2010/06/today-would-have-been-bob-harrods.html

On that last day we talked, Bob told me about Fontelle and his love for her.
I had never seen him so happy. He had started going back to the doctor to get himself together, again. He had neglected his health for years taking care of Georgia and then Sassy. He told me he wanted twenty good years with Fontelle before he died. He was eighty at the time.

BBM-CA' mentions he last spoke with Bob the day prior to his moving. He also indicated he moved from California a week prior to Bob going missing. That would mean he last talked to Bob on July 19th. Close to two weeks after Fontelle had left to gather her belogings. IF Bob had cold feet, he clearly would not have been as eager and axiously awaiting his beloved Fontelles return when he and CA' last talked. Cold feet would have sank in shortly after she returned to MO close to two weeks earlier.

I will have to go find links, but the cold feet theory, from what I recall, came from Bobs daughters, it was not a theory LE pulled out of thin air.

CA also mentions that he could attest to Bobs state of mind. from his blog:

The Placentia Police started to investigate. They tried to brush it off as some senile, old man who wandered off. There was speculation he got cold feet just before Fontelle was supposed to arrive. There were other stories as well. I was one of his closest friends and I was never contacted by the police about him or his state of mind...

Again, if we go back to MSM quotes from LE - LE clearly states his daughter (I forget which one, but will find the MSM link) thought her dad, Bob, was becoming forgetful and possibly showing signs of dementia. Again, NOT a theory LE pulled out of the sky. Something they- LE investigated having HEARD IT FROM BOBS DAUGHTERS - and Bobs doctor disproved this dementia theory.

CAExile you also express frustration in LE not contacting you directly, but I have to wonder if you felt you had had information that could clarify misinformation you read in the media or 'heard' from an outside party why not contact LE yourself? LE welcomes TIPS and information from the general public no matter how old a case may be. Sometimes those tips many many years later are what helps solve cold cases.

I sure hope you are still as interested in helping Bob today and until this case is solved as he appears to be when you wrote your blog. Bob NEEDS you CAExile!

I feel for Bob and all those who love him by the misinformation which a few have tossed into this case, clearly - at least imo - seeking to direct blame away from themselves or perhaps to throw LE a loop and the to dissuade the publics interest in Bobs case.

I know a few of us are here for Bob til the end... whatever it may be.

bb to add links after I find them.

Hey, can someone tell me if this has been mentioned, already, and explain what this document means? It's a legal notice pertaining to the estate of Robert Merle Harrod. The post was made on 12/11/2009, and a hearing date was set for January 4th, 2010.

Beautiful Oak Display Case 11 ft. L x 3 ft W x 4 1/2 ft tall.

J seemed very anxious to get rid of the display case and even bumped the post.

I found it strange because her father had just disappeared and she seemed eager to get rid of the display case. I also noted that J makes mention of donating money to ROTW if one was to have the display case delivered. Why not ask for a donation for a reward fund for her father?

There was a picture of the case with her post, since removed. It was a beautiful piece of furniture.

Does her lifestyle account for owning a display case the size of a room? OK I am exaggerating...but did they own a store? She states in her ad it was previously moved by two men. Maybe CA Exile can weigh in and let us know if it was something that was previously in Bob and Georgia's home...either in Placentia or Monrovia. :waitasec:

ETA: look what you started Angelo-now this is stuck in my head. Anyone know enough about the sisters to know why one of them would have an object like this?

bumping the above question for CAExile. Hopefully he will see it.

I would like to ask if you ever saw a peice of furniture in Bobs garage that matched this curio cabinet or sideboard as described above.

I would also like to ask, if you noticed any indication of Bob doing repairs to his home in the days between Fontelle going to MO to gather her things and your moving from CA to VA. Did you hear from Bob directly he was planning on doing this 'odd jobs' to his home, or did you first learn about these 'odd jobs' after you learnt of Bobs disappearance?

In 2009, say from Jan 2009 until the time you moved, did you know of anyone doing repairs to Bobs home and who did he usually have do that work? A hired contractor or did you often see family taking care of the yard, and home repairs if needed.

TIA
