Oh for pete's sake, people 'deactivate' their memberships all the time, including the OP, who's done it at least thrice, by my count. They are always back within a few months, with no hard feelings and a renewed enthusiasm for the soup that is ROTW. Unless you go out with an epic post that gets you banned for life, like MTN_DUNN, you never really quit. It's like Michael Corleone said, "Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in"​

Poor Bob. I can only imagine what he endured following his first wife's passing which led to him having to pay them to leave him alone. At least he had a little happy time again when he reunited with Fontelle.

Keep in mind the housekeeper stated in the clip from the upcoming Disappeared show, Mr. Harrod's bed was unmade, and that was something she had not seen previously in the 10 or so years she had been employed by the Harrod family.

If Mr. Harrod did not have time to make his bed, he would not have had time for his morning walk. Which, imo, means someone had to remove the key's and wallet to make it appears as if Mr. Harrod left with both.

Also, as far as we know, sil JeM has never disclosed where he discarded the used materials from the odd jobs/handy man jobs he did at Bob's house the day of his disappearance.

Yep...sure smacks of a setup to me (missing keys & wallet).

Not only did the housekeeper apparently surprise JeM by showing-up on the Monday instead of her usual Tuesday, she also well could have shocked the whole bunch of 'em by revealing that tidbit about Bob's unmade bed.

Also to note from the "Disappeared" clip: iirc, the housekeeper (Agnes) looked inside the mailbox to see if Bob had left her a key as he and/or his wife had done on rare occasions in the past if either/both were not going to be home at the time she was due to arrive for work.

LOL, gitana1. The case is being vigorously litigated, although Bob's wife has chosen to be reactive to the flurry of nonsense filed by the co conservators. I sent you a PM with some of the names of the players.

What do you think about a petition to try and compel Mrs Harrod to pay rent in the marital home?

It's horrible. But, it appears that after initial reluctance to stop these people from squeezing Mr. Harrod's estate dry, the court is solidly behind their efforts, so it will probably allow them to squeeze another victim dry.

Is there anyone outside websleuths who is challenging these people or who sees their conduct as highly suspicious? I found a blog from an old neighbor who moved. Apparently he posted here but thinks the family is nice and not involved. He did not like the hairdresser (who might have been smoozing him for gifts but does not appear to have been involved).

Did the Disappeared episode include any of the suspicious things about the family, like how much money they have wasted from the estate, or the daughter's odd videotaped media interview (above somewhere) or her statements that he poor old father was "selfish"? Is any of this coming out in articles or programs, anywhere? This is horrible. Poor guy gets to be happy again and then it's snatched from him, probably in a murderous manner. By his own spawn, no doubt.

gitana'. I'm so glad you've joined us here at Bob's thread. I've always admired your posts and information on other cases we've followed here at WS.

Mr. Harrod's case has not yet aired on Disappeared. It is scheduled to be aired sometime in the fall, we don't have an exact air date yet. The video we discussed upthread was a 3 min or so snippet which was added in error and has since been removed. We were lucky to see it while it was there. There is a transcription upthread.

Thanks again and I really agree with your final thoughts. May all involved writher in pain knowing what they will face eternally. Eternity is a long looong time.

Where are Bob's wallet and keys? I guess the implication is that he took them with him. OK, where is his checkbook and other miscellaneous things he was known to carry. It was hot that day and Bob was bald. Where is his hat?

After watching that video several times, all I can think is that Fontelle must be one tough lady. I'd be afraid to sleep in that house even if I did get the locks changed... unless I brought my Benelli security system with me.

That woman is Mr. Harrod's youngest daughter, Julie Michaels, wife of Jeff Michaels the last (known) person to see Bob alive. JeM was allegedly doing odd jobs and handy man jobs at Mr. Harrod's, even though those odd jobs have remained top secret never being revealed.

She (JuM) is also the author of the 'mile long' memorabilia list which she claims to have written from memory.

Oh, and she spent the entire day at Mr. Harrod's to "change the linens" and get the house ready for Mrs. Harrod the day following her fathers disappearance, even though his housekeeper was there the afternoon he disappeared.

Gitana, I am totally naive. I thought that the whole reason conservators had to report to court was so that there was a check on the power of a conservator. To prevent a conservator from stripping the estate prematurely.

I haven't been able to figure out why the court is letting them get continuance after continuance for not filing the (relatively simple seeming) paperwork that has been called for.

Such is my naivete that I thought judges really hated people who fiddle faddle about and would eventually deliver a judicial slap on the back of the head to a party who kept delaying things.

And yet, it hasn't happened.

I totally do not understand it.

Particularly in combination with the unmade bed.

I have often noticed that it is very difficult to hear anything outside the bathroom while water is flowing in the bathroom but it's quite easy to hear all sorts of movements over the sound of water flowing from outside the bathroom.
