At orientation when my daughter started college 2 years ago it was made quite clear to the parents that if they wanted to know anything about their children that they should ask their children. The students are all legally adults and the school was not going to communicate with their parents.

I teach college writing, and yes, this is true, at least once the students reach 18. At that point, the student is responsible.

On the bodybuilding site, he listed his height at 5" 9....no way is he 5' 9 IMO!
IIRC, other posters on that site didn't believe it either.

Obviously he wasn't 5"9'. And obviously he didn't like being short. It's in his manifesto. He was even jealous of his baby brother because the child was tall for his age.

Also from your link:
A neighbour at the Capri said Rodger had been hospitalised with an injured ankle after being pushed off a ledge in a fight in July.

The neighbour said: “He was so emotional with like water faucets coming out down in his cheeks for half an hour. I’ve never seen anybody that mad. He said ’I’m gong to kill all of them I’m going to kill myself’. I don’t know if that’s what set the plan in motion.”

If this is true that is when police should have been called for a 5051. He threatened others and himself, It would have been enough to hold him. Who knows maybe if they had held him the roommates or his mom might have snooped in his room and found his guns and ammo. Really sad and scary. Those poor kids and their families.

Doesn't appear the guy he told all of this to called police.

He himself said he had a turtle and a lizard (iguana?) as a child, before his sister got the dog. He said neither lived more than a year. Not sure what their cause of death was. I'm only on page 28. I made my husband get take out for dinner, but sadly I still have these pesky domestic duties hounding me.

That link I just posted ............ The username of the OP is Sadlizard.

I had missed he had a lizard as a child.

Er has certainly made an impact - his you tube account when from a handful of followers - to 3,000 on Saturday, 5,000 on Sunday, and 9,000 today.

There's a lot of this - but most are smart enough to know - this kid had no plan for his future - his plan involved the lottery.

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (KABC) --
A 19-year-old man struck by Elliot Rodger's car during the deadly rampage described the terrifying moments.

Nick Pasichuke said he was long-boarding down the street when he was hit.

"Out of nowhere, get swooped up by a car and thrown about 50 yards," he said. "The next thing I know, I'm on the ground, can't move my legs."

Pasichuke's father says his son has suffered one broken leg, a broken ankle and fractures to his face.

So glad to be hearing good things about at least one of the other victims, who by all accounts is a survivor.

we can figure out what other usernames he used ; Elliot Rodger, Sadlizard, we can look up all of his Internet posting activity - for what that's worth.

I noticed something on an anxiety website, but nothing true.

For those who have an interest... thanks for the info!! you da best.

I live in OC Cali and when his picture first popped up on my TV screen I thought it was Luka Magnotta. The resemblance is uncanny.

Yes, the resemblance is similar, in more ways than one.

I also thought of Andrew Cunanan. Both think highly of themselves and expect to live a rich life. They are consumed by envy and fear competition from other people. They also had issues of self-hatred. However, Cunanan is more sociable than Rodger. Cunanan is a clear cut psychopath, while Rodger is an extreme narcissist with psychopathic traits.

My daughter lived on campus at Seton Hall. Her suite mate was also a female and she propositioned my daughter the first week of being room mates. My daughter told her that she had a boyfriend and she handled it well with the girl. From that point on she would turn off the air conditioner and the room would be sweltering. Her mom came on a weekend to visit and as soon as she came in the room she asked my daughter why the air was off.The mom said the girl needed the air on 24/7 for her breathing, my daughter told her she was the one shutting it off. They would go to dinner with 3 other girls from the other dorm room but this one started talking about stabbing people and how she would have no problem doing so. Then she placed a rather large knife in a block of Styrofoam on her desk. My daughter did try to get her room changed but they did not change it. She did not tell us any of this at that time.We went on a Sunday to visit her and bring her diet soda and her snacks. At the time my husband and I smoked, I went out first then hubby followed me.The room mate thought we left but we were just outside smoking. My hubby went back to the dorm before I did, he saw the roommate bending down watching our daughter through the bottom of the door and she had a bottle of my daughters diet soda and was putting some white powdered substance in it. She jumped up when she became aware and ran in the room.
My hubby told my daughter she needed to come out side to help bring more stuff up.As soon as he was outside he told us what he had seen.We went to the security office and we wanted something done about it and I wanted to call the police. They would not call the police ,when I called on my cell phone they said they only come if school security calls them. She came home with us that night and the next day we tried to get them to change her room, they refused. We cleared out her stuff and she then drove 2 hrs back and forth each way 4 times a week. The other suite mates were all afraid of her. We tried to get the money back for meals and her room, she was only there about 3 weeks but they would not refund any part of the 4000.00 that we paid out of pocket. It was worth it to lose money we really could not afford to lose but this girl sent off horrible vibes to all of us. I have no doubt harm would have come to my daughter had she stayed in that room. There was much more we find out after my daughter left her dorm but I have already written too much lol sorry to rant .They really should have some way of testing these students before putting them in rooms together. After my daughters experience it seems that at least 1 a year a student is killed by a room mate.

They were both born on July 24th. 9 years apart though.
Just FYI :seeya:

That is very scary stuff. I worry about this with my son who has two college roommates.
