During this USA war against Canada, it is important to have conversations with people between the ages of 16-30. They are most vulnerable to online seduction related to the federal election and sovereignty.
For example, after the October 7 terrorist attack against civilians in Israel, there was an intentional social media campaign by Hamas to gain support around the world, and especially in countries like the USA. It was so successful that North American university campuses were overtaken by protests in support of a known terrorist group. Once that demographic group formed the opinion that Hamas was the victim, it was impossible to discuss. They were dogmatic in their beliefs.
Just an opinion, but I think now is the time to have election and sovereignty conversations with people in that age group to explain what Canadians will lose if they are seduced by promises of $$$ by the USA federal government. Health care, freedom of expression, justice system, political system, education system, privilege of enjoying protected natural environment, Commonwealth Nation privilege and so much more. There are solid arguments to made in all aspects of Canadian culture and society, but they should be made before that age group is bombarded with coercive social media campaigns from the USA.
"He says that in spite of visible signs of Canadian unity in the face of annexation threats, there are those who are vulnerable to the siren call, particularly among the young who feel economically disadvantaged.
"That would be one of the linchpins, one of the cracks in the armour that another country would be looking at trying to exploit," he told CBC News. "If you have individuals who are concerned about where their next meal is coming from or if they're going to get a roof over their head, that supersedes sovereignty."
