If Carney is half the finance man he's told us he is, he knows we'll have to pay for his new defense spending somehow.
Western Canada is ready to help out - and the equalization payments will be rolling in across the country. Seize the day.

not only is this not a massive gaslighting of the citizens...but when you have speeding car that if the police catch up with you good luck for your health:(...i figure people on fentanyl and that trank are racing like mad to get away (have you seen on youtube how lovely they look) well if the police cant stop people standing still what the heck are they doing??? blame Canada yep...jat
Idk why Donald is blaming Canada for fentanyl entering the country, that epidemic started way back when there was over prescribing and subsequent abuse of prescribed medication. When over prescribing was addressed, the addicted people were overlooked and not helped, leaving them to source alternative drugs to support their addiction, that's when fentanyl became so popular, jmo though. Instead of blaming every other person, nation or country in the world for America's problems, Donald could maybe look inwards to what causes these issues and start from there in making a positive and lasting change for future generations such as researching which areas are most likely to have a higher count of drug users and why, guaranteed it will be these smaller communities, much more rural, very little job opportunity let alone career progression who are harder hit with a drug epidemic, look at resolving those issues and spread out from there. Of course if Donald hadn't given Elon the opportunity to illegally fire people from such jobs that would be helpful, but never mind.
Ugh, honestly, can not believe that convicted felon is actually in such a position of power.

MOO

What wording! "Canada snuck past USA".

It is actually a good thing, from an Aussie perspective. The 'underdog' snuck by the 'top dog'. Not meant to be detrimental to Canada, at all.

Australia is a heavy betting nation, and they like nothing more than when the strong underdog wins the race.
(I say 'they' because I am not a betting person)

The reporting source is our ABC, our govt funded media. Very pro-Canada, pro-Commonwealth alliance.

National health care would go a long way towards treating illegal and prescription drug addiction. Treat the patient, solve the problem.

Everyone knows that when you take one drug away from an addict, they will replace it with another drug. Stopping drugs at the border will not make any difference to drug addicts.

Trump discussions about fentanyl were a ruse to get people worked up into starting a war.

Well at least he's brought egg prices down.

Oh wait...
Trump's "border czars" are catching more illegal eggs than drugs. Looks like the USA has been smuggling Canadian eggs into the USA for longer than bird flu problems.

The USA spent months talking about it, thinking, as usual, that they were holding all the cards and they would leave Australia hanging as long as it suited them. The USA never expected Canada to take a quick decision.

Commonwealth Nations need to stand together now more than ever.

And I am sure they never expected Australia to make a quick decision either. But I think we are trying hard to show our allegiance. Tariffs or no tariffs.

I can tell you that Canadians are very appreciative! Additionally, the alliance gives a significant boost to Carney in terms of demonstrating that he understands the problem, understands the challenges, and has solutions.

More retaliation against the USA government war against Canada. Musk is delusional. Are left-wing USA billionaires paying Canadians to boycott and/or vandalize his products?

"Musk briefly addressed the issue Monday during an appearance on U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz's podcast, saying at least some of the vandalism is organized and paid for by "left-wing organizations in America, funded by left-wing billionaires, essentially."

The most attractive thing about concluding the deal with Canadians, is, unlike the USA, they pay their bills!! The Usa is turning into a shoplifting nation, with a chief shoplifter casting his little screwed up eyes on any flickering target on display,.. not just the big ones, but that ridiculous list of his where he proposes his little fantasies about what countries 'need to address ' stuff.. He'd have taken the JORN and 'forgot' to cheque the invoice. You know I'm right, that's his business model.

Just like amateur shoplifters do, they do a recce run, checking out the security, the exit doors, the runability of the carpark, on this occasion , Trump hesitated too long and got to the shop while it was being renovated and everything was stored in a steel warehouse with guard dogs..

And I don't think the Aussie/Canada deal is going to bode well for our argument against tariffs on Australia.

Our govt has obviously weighed this (imo) and just shrugged.

Oh wait...
I don't know why Trump is hooting around truffling for eggs in Europe... Just 70 miles off the coast of Florida, there are chooks galore, laying eggs, clucking happily, every back yard in Havana has a couple of well cared for hens, even in apartments, there they are, on the balconies. fluffed up and contented... They are a key component in the health of Havana's medical gardens , where Cuba grows all its stuff for pills and pharmacy requirements, it's as clever as all getout..the hen droppings ensure the health of the soil..

Trump would only have to politely ask Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez , President of Cuba for a spare 600 mill a day.. he could send a few Galaxies down, filled with cars from the Houston/Dallas/Atlanta car yards that are going broke,, as payment. .. hell.. if Trump asked Carney politely , Canada would kick in with a few of their rooftop version Galaxies, and there you have it, every day, flyin into Atlanta, 3 huge cargo planes of eggs, it could go on for months... Simple

I don't mind if this idea is borrowed.. be my guest.. might repair relationships between the USA and Cuba, after all, the usa is in need of friends, no one else is going in to bat , now..

I don't see any value in bunging on tariffs to anyone .. it sends a message to other customers that contracts and signed promulgated business legalities are going to be subject to the state of some head of state's dodgy liver, how their bowels are operating, and this is Not Good For Business...

We can wait, SA.. they are all going into summer and we are gearing up for what we laughingly refer to as 'winter' ( which means , we put shoes on ) and things are going to go very much into slippage mode over this northern summer on the other side of the equator, and watch and see is the better part of valour , I reckon..

Is that what MAGA is calling Warren Buffet these days?? ain't no limit to Elon's rubbish bag.. He actually looks like he's been on the turps ( 'on the turpentine,' paint thinner , the last rockbottom drink of a dipsomaniac ) ... not a good look, on Elon.

Here in my colder region of Australia we'd need a puffer jacket, beanie and UG boots.

But after the sweltering summer we've had, I'm almost welcoming colder weather.
Ours is often WINTER, and it lets us know it.

I just hope that tariffs don't affect our clothing too much, especially since Rivers and a lot of other clothing brands have closed down and here we're probably going to have to shop more at boutique more expensive shops. unless we get some new clothing stores.

Of course there is the internet and I do buy a lot online. With clothing whatever I buy usually fits but I have had a coat that went around me three and a half times.
And a brown coat that was kind of boucle, that made me look like a giant bear.
I took that back and got a smaller size but I still felt kind of big and bearish.
I ended up donating both coats to the Salvos.

I think he’s talking about George Soros. They put a little disclaimer in for optics. moo

“We do not direct, coordinate, or dictate the strategies or activities of the organizations we support,” said a statement from the Open Society Foundations. “The Open Society Foundations support a broad range of nonprofit organizations that work to strengthen democracy and promote nonviolent civic engagement. Our grantees operate independently and are expected to do so in full adherence to U.S. law.”
