Kemug,

Might I respectfully ask if you think it's OK for a leader of a sovereign nation to breach it's international alliances, free trade agreements and threaten another sovereign nation with Annexation without cause?

Is that OK?

Is that democratic?

Curious.

It certainly is not. But Mr Trump is not only deranged, but is making others mentally unwell as well, in my case with depression.

Me too.

Trump is flushing our democracy down his solid gold toilet while his supposedly co-equal branch of government, the legislative, is twiddling its thumbs and just watching it all go down.

It's really unbelievable.

Hugs, if welcome, from another depression sufferer.

I think he’s talking about George Soros. They put a little disclaimer in for optics. moo

“We do not direct, coordinate, or dictate the strategies or activities of the organizations we support,” said a statement from the Open Society Foundations. “The Open Society Foundations support a broad range of nonprofit organizations that work to strengthen democracy and promote nonviolent civic engagement. Our grantees operate independently and are expected to do so in full adherence to U.S. law.”

Nonsense and same with the NYP!

Sounds just like a mob boss. "It would be a shame if you didn't agree that our interests are in your best interests."
Yep, he thought he'd missed his calling, but no, he got there in the end. :(

It seems to me that "radical leftist" describes anyone even slightly to the left of the far right these days.
If you are not far right in the US ... you are a radical leftist, no matter where you sit on the wide spectrum.

Even many in the current administration must disagree with these tariffs and the other things that the leaders are doing and taking away, but they are staying silent ... because, you know, radical leftist.

(Just jumping off your post)

Ah yes, just like when they blamed antifa and whoever else for J6 violence, then turned around and said J6 rioters deserve to be pardoned. Why did they need to be pardoned if they didn't do anything?

Some of these people move goal posts faster than the weather changes.
Maybe because there's a lot of wind blowing between their ears?

Yes, crazy and really disgusting, the Fox type news propaganda believing crowd severely lack empathy, anyone who has a slight tilt towards caring for all humans is labeled left like that’s a derogative, I’ll NEVER understand or share the mentality

Right? It's amazing to me that some people managed to make "woke" a pejorative for anyone that has empathy for another. I figure if someone calls me woke, I must be doing the right thing.

I'm perfectly happy and proud to to be called "woke" right about now, whilst I sit here in my furthest left corner. Feel free to pop by and sit for a while! X

They won't do that. Why would they? They're not going to pay anything like a fair wage to free people. They'll default to modern slavery, and use the USA's enormous prison population to fill the gap left by migrant workers. Pay them pennies an hour and congratulate themselves on the money they're saving.

MOO
Interesting and likely. We'd also have to keep the prisons full so we had enough labor, so look for laws to change to make incarceration easier. MOO.

I'm relieved that these important points of history are being restored, but, how many are falling between the cracks, unnoticed? How many stories will we lose?

Clearly, Trump is unable to grasp the fundamentals of the EU system of production and distrubution of goods and produce. . It is why the EU actually exists, to regulate trade and distribution across nations with the least amount of delay and disturbance, something Britain is finding out in the most horrible way. . There are no spare eggs because egg production is regulated so that approx amount of eggs required is the amount of eggs produced at a reasonable price for the consumer and the producer..

There are no excesses or wastage or sudden shortages, or instant price rises, under this well oiled and operative system of trade, among nations who wish to co -operate and consequently, thrive and prosper...

This is but one glaring example of how unbusiness like Trump really is, he is not a businessmans shoelace...
Trump is not very intelligent---- He doesn't grasp lots of things and ideas.

town hall in Columbus, Neb., Tuesday night, Rep. Mike Flood was asked by the moderator taking written questions if he would oppose “going to war with Canada.”

“Yes,” he responded. “Canada is a long-time, important ally of the United States of America. They have fought next to our soldiers in every major conflict. We share a very peaceful border them.

“The Canadians are good people, I respect them, and I want to cohabitate on North America’s continent with them and I want them to feel respected.”

The firings and tariffs mess is starting to impact my red state. The Red River Gorge is a natural gem in nature. This area is poor and employs local people. It is likely to impact more Trump voters than not. Already I am seeing people in total shock that have lost their jobs. They obviously didn't read Project 25 and if they did believed Trump when he said he knew nothing of it.

I'm finding it hard to feel for these people. They drank the Kool aid this past decade of nonstop misinformation and believed in simple solutions for complex problems. Now they are literally in shock that what they voted for is impacting them and they don't know what they will do to support themselves.

Cuts to Medicaid, food and lack of affordable housing is going to hit these people hard. It isn't like they can move to a job in a city because you cannot live there on minimum wage. Rent alone will more than eat up one salary and if you have kids you now have a work requirement to even be eligible for Medicaid (passed in legislature, going to be vetoed by the governor then overruled by the state legislature who is the Republican majority)..

An election campaign is expected to last between 36 and 50 days. Election day remains to be confirmed, but voters are expected to cast their ballots on either April 28 or May 5, according to sources that spoke with Radio-Canada.
I think this is another interesting and important distinction between Canada and countries like the USA. In the USA, the federal election campaign never seems to stop. As soon as Biden was elected, Trump was campaigning. It looked like daily interference with the government - non-stop free-speech badmouthing of Biden and Democrat policy.

Canada has rules and limits - no more than 51 days to campaign, then it stops. When the votes are in, campaigning stops, everyone accepts the decision (whether they like it or not), and life goes on until the next election a few years later.

Trump has spent years winding-up his supporters, regularly convincing them that they are victims of: pet-eating criminal migrants, woke Democrats, unfair foreign manufacturing, and environmental "elites" using water flow restrictors to manage water supply. If his campaign was restricted to 51 days, it would have sounded a bit more nutty and a lot less convincing.

"The election or campaign period must be at least 37 days and no more than 51 days"

I have a difficult time feeling bad for these people- he showed who he was--although he denied knowing anything about project 2025-- I have no idea how anybody could have believed anything he promised--- these people put him in office and those of us who knew better are stuck with this horrible mess---
