This is the problem. All the rings he is throwing out are causing nothing but confusion and international concern. It's one thing to have concern about Congress passing tax cuts or other internal issues.

When you have the entire globe unsure of what the next hour's Trump blurb is going to be, you have the flight away from risk and to security. Japan looks pretty smart selling their US Treasuries and investing in gold.

The recession is coming much much faster than we think.

All of those people who wanted the US to be run "like a business" are now getting to see what his business 'skills' truly are.

Vacillation and uncertainty ... reneging on deals ... harming suppliers ... which led to lawsuits, failures and bankruptcies.

I don’t think anyone disagrees that the government can be made “more efficient and more accountable.” It’s the way Musk and Doge have gone about it that is extremely undemocratic and illegal. THAT is what the protests are about.

What stands out for me in The Atlantic exchange is this Vance discussing oil prices.

We've wondered for some time whether the USA government is making announcements and taking actions to manipulate the stock market. Here we have Vance specifically mentioning the price of oil in the context of bombing Houtis, apparently concerned that oil prices are not managed as well as possible.

You’re right. It gets confusing. This coming Saturday March 29 is the Tesla protest. The following Saturday April 5 is the “Hands Off” protest in 50 state capitols plus D.C. I checked and that one will also be in other locations such as mine, which is 4 hours away from the state capitol.
