Are you talking about the take down Tesla/Musk rally? Jasmine Crockett is a mess and I don’t mean in a good way. The majority of Americans support DOGE. moo

Wow, Pam Bondi should really chose another hill to die on.

Elon Musk will not be there to save her when she needs it. He'll be sunning himself in one of Putin's lavish hidden dachas.

I borrowed this great post from Tarabull on the Russian Ukraine thread.

The National Security Agency put out a bulletin warning about using Signal to communicate secure issues a month before the Houthi bombing leak. Guess who was the head of the NSA at the time this memo came out?

Michael Walz. Trump had said in November 2024 after the election he was appointing him NSA and the date this memo came out in February 2025, he had been fully installed in the job, so this memo came out under his authority.

Wow. This is pretty scathing.

It sounds as though Walz, Gabbard, and Hegseth are just going though the motions listening to this real-time action play and not doing any independent verification, with Hegseth being the one who actually releases the specific attack details.

It really sounds like the gang was just playing a video game without actually following circumspect independent verification of the security of the transmissions.

Incompetence. Arrogance. Bad group-think not allowing for each individual to speak up and do their job.

This is just inexcusable at this level. We should all be ashamed at this.

Trump's reactions? Fake news, awful magazine, slanders editor.

*Squirrel*

Throws out auto tariff news to break up the Houthis Signal scandal newsfeed because sending Walz and Vance to Greenland is getting no traction.

Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard admits the specific details of the armed attack on Yemen were in the Signals chat.

She claims they were not Top Security.

She is heavily backpedaling on a big backpedal bike. Saying something like "I wasn't involved" which makes her look even less effective as a DIRECTOR of NATIONAL SECURITY , and someone comfortable with untruthisness.

Hegseth contineus to make mistakes in his press conferences on foreign trips. He told a group in Brussels that the US did not want Ukraine in NATO, before Trump had made any comments.

Now he is being dogged by the Houthi Signal scandal while on a big tour of Asia.

"Hegseth already appears to have contradicted the administration. He told reporters on Monday night that “nobody texted war plans,” although a National Security Council spokesperson confirmed the existence of the group chat and did not deny the content of the messages between national security adviser Mike Waltz, Vice President JD Vance and other top-ranking officials.

“Allies don’t have high expectations for him as is,” said a second former defense official. “This is par for the course.”

Wow, that's a big BURN

Do you have a link to your claim?

I watched this morning and she didn’t say what you’re claiming she said. moo

No I am not.

And IMO those female loyalists who parade around wearing crosses and accusing others of the same stuff her administration is doing, ie, targeting is a red flag for propaganda.

I mean after all they are threatening retribution for an immigrant's company who was funded by the US government. But the J6 rioters killed people and desecrated and damaged the Capitol of the USA and were pardoned. They were called hostages. Can you not see the irony of that? If not can you not understand that is the pot calling the kettle black? Can you not see how ridiculous it is to threaten to take over Greenland? To threaten to make Canada the 51 st state? How would you feel if Canada threatened to make the USA a province of Canada?

No link because this is well known fact posted on here many times. But if it makes you feel better go ahead and report me. I'm doing what I can as a proud American to try and get those outside the US to not hate us and understand that not all of us are cheering on this attack on our democracy.

With all due respect BayouBelle please try and understand what is going on here. We want to save democracy and bring peace. Not defy the rule of law and put party over country.

THe president swore to protect the Constitution and not seek retribution on his enemies.

I'm assuming you watched the J6 insurrection in real time. Did you see the insurrectionists crushing a policeman begging for them to stop? Did you see the woman climbing through a broken window into the Senate I think it was and killed by SS? The SS who refused to take Trump to tha Capitol to riot with his supporters? Did you hear them calling for Mike Pence to be hung? Did you hear them calling for Nancy Pelosi?

You should be outraged. Would you have been outraged if Joe Biden had done this and not Trump? Think about that. I would have been outraged no matter which President did this.

Again, respectfully, please do not have a knee jerk reaction to my words. Try to understand the concerns. Try to understand the impacts this administrations actions are having on our country and the world.

The world is trying. Join us.

They didn't include the US itself as a threat to US National Security?

Vance, Hegseth, Gabbard, Waltz, Miller, Rubio, Ratcliffe, Witkoff, Bessent, McCormack, Wiles, Kent (the people in that now infamous Signal chat) Link

"Wednesday’s hearing was called to discuss the intelligence community’s annual report on threats to American national security. The report lists China, Russia, Iran and North Korea as strategic adversaries, and notes that drug cartels and transnational criminal organizations pose other threats to Americans."

That's a very high-level group of Trump appointees.

It's only missing Elon.

Wonder why? His scent is usually all over everything Trump does.

Thanks so much for replying @otto. I’m afraid I’m going to sound pretty defeated.

The Republicans (Trump’s party) have the majority in both the House and Senate. They won’t defy Trump because they are (rightly) afraid of him and/or agree with him. They won’t even meet with their angry demonstrating constituents. The next congressional election is in 2026 (if there is one) and it will be too late. We’ll see if the demonstrations on April 5 at the capitols of all 50 states have any effect.

I think the media is afraid too. There is no coverage of the demonstrations that I can see except on liberal MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow show. Trump has the billionaires like Bezos (Amazon and the Washington Post), and Zuckerberg (Facebook and Instagram) in his pocket. He goes after newspapers and TV stations that have stories he doesn’t like. Musk owns Twitter/X and routinely scrubs uncomplimentary posts.

I don’t mean to sound unappreciative of your suggestions, @otto. Normally, they would have an effect. But we are dealing with a President and government that is trampling the Constitution and laws with no fear of consequences. Trump promised retribution (for what was “done” to him) and he’s succeeding. Court cases that go against him are appealed and will end up at the Supreme Court, where he has a majority of the judges on his side. Even if they rule against him, the courts have no power to enforce their opinions. In the past, Presidents would comply. But Trump will do what he wants.

There are a lot of very smart people in this country. I read their comments on various substacks I follow and they are all asking “What can we do?” If there was something to do, I’m sure they’d be doing it. I’m afraid it’s too late, even for many of the suggestions in Timothy Snyder’s “On Tyranny.”

That does not sound optimistic. I agree that innovative thinking is necessary.

As an example of media that made a difference, I mentioned the influence of social media that successfully convinced students around the world that the October 7, 2023 murder of farmers and civilians was their fault, and that Hamas was the victim. That was quite a feat, but social media was used to successfully convince post-secondary students around the world to celebrate the terrorist group Hamas for the slaughter of innocent people. I think it's important to examine how this was achieved, and how to duplicate the method.

That is the type of coordinated, calculated, consistent social media messaging that is needed today to combat the systematic loss of rights that is happening in the USA today. Social media campaign success doesn't happen overnight, but it's a movement that gains momentum over time until everyone, even those who don't watch news, pay attention. Start small, like the legal-permanent-resident 21 year old student who moved to the USA at age 7, and who is now facing possible deportation to South Korea. There are now 3 students in the news who are persecuted by the USA gov't for exercising the right to protest. How many others are there who are not in the news? Their only crime is to allegedly protest - a legal right in the USA. They are arrested, detained, stripped of rights.

Use the USA gov't strategy of repetition. For example, the USA gov't repeatedly states that the USA subsidizes Canada in the amount of $250 billion per year. There is no subsidy, not even a penny. It's an entirely false claim, yet, through repetition alone (no facts), it is believed by many in the USA.

Maybe Trump plans to buy potash from Russia instead of Canada?
Saskatchewan is highly disturbed by Russia's "ceasefire condition" of fertiliser and agricultural export sanctions being lifted.

Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe says recent moves by U.S. President Donald Trump to reintroduce Russian goods into the world economy are “incredibly disturbing.”

A White House briefing issued earlier in the day .... “The United States will help restore Russia’s access to the world market for agricultural and fertilizer exports”.

Saskatchewan is the world’s largest producer of potash, which is used in agriculture the world over as a fertilizer.
Russia is the second-largest exporter of potash and Belarus is third.

Saskatchewan premier says Trump has gone 'too far' with plan to lift sanctions on Russian goods, including potash
If Canada can get the infrastructure in place, the EU wants Canadian potash to eliminate future threats and violation of agreements that exist with both Russia and the USA.

I think it is a really good idea to put other export/import partners in place. Arrange alternate trade deals. I really hope we (Australia) are quietly doing that.

Sadly, no-one can trust the US any more.

imo

Trump also plans a tax deduction for purchases of American-made vehicles. He plans to put this into the budget negotiations-tax cuts the House will debate later this year.

Ain't gonna believe that's going to happen.

Still not gonna buy a Tesla.

That's today's decision, I wonder what tomorrow's decision will be.

As Adam Schiff said (on Jimmy Kimmel Live), business leaders need some certainty. They need to know what the conditions are. So they can make their business plans. (Link)

This is the problem. All the rings he is throwing out are causing nothing but confusion and international concern. It's one thing to have concern about Congress passing tax cuts or other internal issues.

When you have the entire globe unsure of what the next hour's Trump blurb is going to be, you have the flight away from risk and to security. Japan looks pretty smart selling their US Treasuries and investing in gold.

The recession is coming much much faster than we think.
