I think he is indeed going to destroy the country bit by bit.
What States in US are mineral rich for them to achieve this?
For any new mines, where are they getting the land from?
How many people will lose their homes?
how many communities will be obliterated?

Moo
how deep is a rabbit hole anyway?....let me think....land,minerals,oil, money, homes to take over giving him more real estate while you are out on the street, what part of a civil war has he not thought of yet...oh shut my mouth!...dont breathe ideas...jat

This is what the Secretary of Commerce said about Social Security payments:

"Only a "fraudster" would care if they miss a social security check" Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick said.

He claimed his 94 year old mother would think it was just delayed until next month. I guess his mother has enough food at the end of the month and doesn't have to wait for that SS deposit to be able to buy something to eat or to pay the electricity bill.

He also implies that only fraudsters will dare complain about delayed payments.

I hate everything about these awful awful people that hurt and denigrate the fine older citizens of this country with these callous and pompous remarks.

MOO: While the reality is there are seniors who run out of money and go without food in the days before their next check. I was recently asked to help feed an elderly couple for a few days while they were waiting for their SS check. How long are they unfed if they have to wait another month? What if they don't have neighbors to help them find food donors?

They have rent, utilities and mortgage payments as well. ALL down to the penny for a LOT. NO one should feel shame or the awful upset the would feel and I know most would NEVER ask their children or anyone for anything concerning money. Not all have the portfolios that these awful people assume. Large medical bills, so many things.

Yes they do have to maintain the profit margin. But I am pretty sure that can be done without excluding DEI.
There is no profit, just enormous debt. -36,000,000,000,000 plus and counting. I have no idea how that stacks up against other countries but that is an insane amount of debt. It’s time to get that under control. imo

The US has significant lithium resources, including the potential for the world's largest deposit in the McDermitt Caldera, but currently relies on imports, with only one active lithium mine, the Albemarle Silver Peak mine in Nevada.

Here's a more detailed look:
Lithium Resources in the US:
  • Significant Deposits:
The US possesses substantial lithium reserves, including the potential for the world's largest deposit in the McDermitt Caldera, a supervolcano straddling the Nevada-Oregon border.
  • McDermitt Caldera:
Scientists hypothesize that the McDermitt Caldera could hold 20-40 million metric tons of lithium, potentially making it the world's largest lithium deposit.

  • Other Potential Deposits:
      • Smackover Formation: A study by the USGS suggests the Smackover Formation in southern Arkansas may contain a significant amount of lithium.
  • Salton Sea: The Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory estimated 18 million metric tons of lithium are available in the Salton Sea.
  • North Carolina: States like North Carolina have lithium deposits, including the Bessemer City mine and Kings Mountain Mine.
  • USGS Data:
According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the US has 14 million metric tons of lithium resources, ranking third worldwide after Bolivia and Argentina.
  • Thacker Pass:
Lithium Americas is developing the Thacker Pass project in northern Nevada, which hosts the largest known measured and indicated lithium resource in North America.
Current Lithium Production and Imports:
    • Only One Active Mine:
The Albemarle Silver Peak mine in Nevada is the only active lithium mine in the US.
  • Import Reliance:
The US is heavily reliant on imports to meet its lithium demand, primarily from Chile and Argentina.
  • Processing Facilities:
The US lacks significant lithium processing facilities, meaning mined lithium is often shipped to other countries for processing.
Future Outlook:
    • Domestic Supply Goals:
The US government aims to increase domestic lithium production to reduce reliance on imports, with a goal of supplying lithium domestically and via strategic partners by 2030.
  • New Mines and Projects:
Several new lithium mining projects are planned or in development across the US, including in Nevada, California, and North Carolina.
  • Incentives for Lithium Mining:
The Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) has incentivized metal and mineral extraction in the United States, including lithium.

Not the first time that I've posted this link in here, but how 'bout making those billionaires and multi-millionaires pay some taxes then?

Here's a link to the National Debt Fixer.

Give it a go ... I managed to keep education funded, added on family leave, kept medicare and medicaid fully funded, etc etc and still managed to balance that annual budget and then also managed to pull off the long term goal of having GDP outsize the national debt payment of the United States; thus paying down the debt. Easy peasey.

Hint: It's a whole lot easier to pull off when you click on the box to limit the gianormous profit margins that pharmecutical companies are allowed to make in the USofA (which taxpayers then must absorb [ie: the national debt absorbs] via medicare & medicaid), and making billionaires and multi-millionaires pay the same tax rate as the average Joe down there.

Funny that. IMO.

"Man kicks hornets nest then complains when hornets start stinging people."

I don’t know what all of these people were smoking when they came up with this Project 2025 plan. It’s like they spent way too much time hanging out in their own little echo chambers yapping about their brilliant ideas.

US President Donald Trump's administration has said it will revoke the temporary legal status of more than half a million migrants from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua and Venezuela.
Those migrants have been warned to leave the country before their permits and deportation shield are cancelled on 24 April, according to a notice posted by the federal government.
The 530,000 migrants were brought into the US under a Biden-era sponsorship process known as CHNV that was designed to open legal migration pathways. Trump suspended the programme once he took office.

The Thacker Pass Lithium mining project in northern Nevada had it's permit approved in 2021.

A huge federal loan funding part of the project for $2.3 Billion USD was approved in 2024, which would have been under President Biden. when we were still BFF's with Canada. General Motors (USA) also invested $635 Million USD in the project. The loan is to LIthium Americas, which is a Canadian-based company. The phone number on the Lithium Americas website has a British Columbia, Canada area code ( 778).

So what happens now? Is Trump going to let a Canadian company reap the profits from a mine on US territory, or is he going to try to rip the contract away from them?

guess that is why they have to be the 51st state- too complicated if they are not (sarcasm)
maybe they will just have to pay 200% tariffs.... and they have "America" in their name, so
brownie points for that. It trades on the NYSE too.

Yes, but also Heritage Foundation and some of those GOP consultants and “think tanks”. Some of them used to have a few shreds of credibility, but now they’re promoting things like martial law, rewriting the Constitution and breaking up NATO to align ourselves with Russia and China? This stuff is insane.

Weren't they once known as the "huddled masses"?
