If Trump has a problem with the decades long agreement with Canada about the Columbia River, I hope Canada will just dig a trench to the Pacific Ocean and let the water flow there. Clearly the US doesn't need it (we don't need anything from Canada, remember).
Well the water is coming from Canada, flowing into the United States.

Too bad Canada can't just quickly dam up the Colombia River at the border, then charge the US for the water, by the gallon.

Probably by mail. Check with your electorate office in advance. Good luck.

I'm looking for any American here who supports this slamming of allies.
Anyone?
I don't believe there is any justification to threaten close allies on no basis whatsoever.
JMO.
But I can't agree with unjustified bullying.

It's all part of the act.

Hard to tell if DJT thinks he is back on The Apprentice yelling "Your're Fired", or if he is at one of his real estate projects trying to screw over the contractors. Right now he's trying to sell space on the White House lawn for a commerical partner in the annual Easter Egg Hunt. He's a hugely transactional person with no shame and massive ambition and resentment.

It's all just a BS game for him, this time on a different level where collectively millions of people stand to get hurt in one way or another.

He could have been reasonable in working to reduce the Federal Debt, on streamlining the administration, on coming up with favorable and mutually successful trade talks.

He just wants to play God to his minions

this is crazy. are they just going to check into the Best Western and hope that some one will meet with them?
I guess there's a US military base...

There is a US Air Force base there. The can hang out there and have MAGA rallies inside the quonset huts.

"The US Air Force base in Greenland, now known as Pituffik Space Base, is located 750 miles above the Arctic Cirle, on the lovely northwest coast of Greenland. It is about 1180 miles from the nearest land in Canada, so we can rest safe knowing that Canadian aggression will not reach the delegation at the Air Base. I was thinking it was very close to some parts of Canada, close enough for the Canuks to throw empty beer bottles at them.

It looks to be sunny, when the sun is over the horizon. t looks to be getting a relatively normal 13 hours of daylight right now. That must be making people happy. A high next week of -3F and a low of -14 F.

Lovely spring weather.

CANADA: Mark Carney's Liberal Party has a 59% chance of winning the election, compared to 41% for the Conservative Party according to prediction market..

Are those numbers right??? that is one hell of a gap......

yes. The US elections, despite all the statements that might seem contrary, recent elections are close:
so at least about half of the country is always dissatisfied

guess the base will have some US snacks for them if they are not keen on seal. would be a good time to pick up a Canada Goose coat if only there were not the trade war, but no worries- 9 stores near DC:

I'm not sure where you're getting that number.

The share of the popular vote is neck and neck @ about 38% just now. But that doesn't translate into an equal number of seats, and just now that website is projecting a Liberal majority.

This is more accurate

I am fighting for my life....and the life of my family. I don't want Canada to go down the path that the USA is now on. <modsnip: Removed political commentary>

If you find any American who supports that , would you pass them on to me?? I want to know if Americans realise that threatening Greenland is exactly the same as threatening all the nations in NATO... and perhaps a list of them may be helpful..

France, United Kingdom, Italy, Belgium, Netherlands, Canada, Portugal, Denmark ( every citizen of Greenland is a citizen of DENMARK, no exceptions ) Norway, Luxemborg , Iceland , Turkey, Greece Germany , Spain and Poland, Chech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia, Croatia, Albania, North Macedonia, Finland, Germany, Sweden, Turkey . ....

Then, there are the bilateral treaties these nations have with other nations, for example, the United Kingdom, it brings in AU, NZ, SA, India , Malaysia, and 52 other nations.. The Finns, Swedes, Norwegians, and the Icelanders, and Danes have a special arrangement, 1 in , all in.. The Dutch, French and Spanish have bilateral treaties with nations outside Europe, as well as each other.

The Finns have held Russia in all it's savagery off its borders for over a century they can do it this century too. , Swedes, ditto. Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania finally wore Russia down, made it leave them and mizzled off , a broken force. None of these countries are pushovers, so one has to imagine that Trump feels he might be in with a chance, slim to none, I 'd say.. It's not just Greenland Trump is provoking.

Advance Polling or by Mail may be options for you:

It’s very offensive and troubling. Totally unprovoked and extremely disrespectful. Trump and Co. do not represent the U.S. He’s a disgrace.

  • #238
What do Trumpers realise?

Oh sorry, are you still there?

  • #239
I guess there's a US military base...

Thule AFB. It's well north in Greenand and a long way to the capital of Nuuk.

I guess they could land in Nuuk though ... provided Greenland gives them flight permission. Personally, I'd deny them landing.

I'd also be telling them to to get their troops out of Greenland, but that's just me. IMO.

Thank you for posting this Betty.
But those of us in other countries that are being attacked by your admin are understandably concerned.
Of course we understand that there are many Americans that disagree with Trump and gang, but they are your official representatives.

I love that you are standing against him. That's what we need to hear.
