It's hard to know. This was presented about 3 weeks after the inaugeration so it might have been some MAGA sycophant ( Georgia representative) trying to curry favor with the new administration. And the Red, While and Blueland sounds like something dreamed up at a local Washington bar after many celebratory rounds, close to closing time.

But, it has been officially recorded and it's out there. Up is down with this clown car administration.
RWBL - rubble?
Musk and Trump dry drunk humour?

I read upthread that there are active moves to get Canada to supply Europe with all sorts of materials for building military equipment and processing plants. That would include Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) as well as rare earth minerals, coal, steel. There are LNG plants in British Columbia which work great for Asia, but that seems like quite a long route for tranport to the EU. There is also a plant in New Brunswick and in Ontario. There are several major ports along that route. The best news is that the Port of Halifax is the major port for Europe, because of it's deep water and ice-free location.

I think Trump is very aware of the potential strength of Canada via Arctic shipping channels and abundance of natural resources necessary for military development. New alliances and export opportunities means that Canada is no longer reliant on the USA. Without Canada as a dependent trade partner and source for natural resources, the USA has to look to South America, Ukraine, and who knows where else for prosperity. Trump views people from South America as pet-eating murderers and criminals, so he wants to cripple Canada to keep it reliant on the USA ... rather than respect South America.

Trump see the potential of Canada for vast military growth and strength, and wants to block that before it happens.

It's easy to read this as Putin's instructions to Trump.

The next federal government has to green-light infrastructure and transportation projects to get central Canada resources to the East Coast. Quebec and liberal government policy have been barriers for 10 years, but many in Quebec are moving towards strengthening (cooperating with) Canada due to USA war.

Liberal policy under Trudeau has foolishly and intentionally handicapped Canada such that the only option was trade reliance on the USA. All that has to change fast.

This is REAL, folks. Google H.R. 1161 It was introduced to the US House of Representatives on Feb 10, 2025

H.R. 1161 — A bill to authorize the President to enter into negotiations to acquire Greenland and to rename Greenland as ‘‘Red, White, and Blueland’’; to the Committee on Foreign Affairs, and in addition to the Committee on Natural Resources, for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned.

By Mr. CARTER of Georgia, H613 [10FE]

As far as I can tell, there are no House Bills, yet, to invade or "aquire" Canada or rename it. o_O

Mr Carter of Georgia seems to be the "bill introduction" man. When I look at his website (which is freely available) he has introduced all kinds of bills.

Note: this is just for March 2025 .... just so far during that one month. But the items stretch back further.

A bill to reverse Biden's air quality standards - because it kills jobs
A bill to ban the use of autopens for presidential pardons
A call for oversight of diversion of soldiers' food money to other purposes
Official letter raising concern about limiting recreational fishing for a few fish species
A bill to allow states to stockpile drugs, vaccines and medical supplies
A bill to prevent maternal deaths - apparently it is at 'crisis point' in the US 🤔
A bill to authorise Trump to sell Nancy Pelosi Federal Building
A bill to reallocate wireless technology from federal sources and make it available for commercial purposes

Source: Mr Carter's official website

So now Mr Euro-Hating Vice President Vance will be joining Mrs. Vance in the uninvited visit to Greenland.

Thank you so much for this explanation and the diagram, otto.

It really puts the entire shell game of Trump's into perspective.

If anything, Canada needs to seize northern Alaska and the Bering Strait
Canada has a West Coast, so there's no need to pass between Alaska and Russia.

Alaska is the vulnerable party. Regardless of which trade route is chosen, Russia and Canada have to cooperate.

I guess that was the plan from the beginning - send a wife first to open the doors of politeness, then swoop in with condescending intentions to steal from Greenlanders.

How long until Vance tells Greenland they haven't said thank you loud enough.

How long will Americans allow trump to act like this. How long will other countries allow this to go on before snapping back. It's really disgusting how they are acting now . I'm waiting to see how long before war starts between the tariffs the bullying of other countries people are getting fed up jmvho
Just about every country is, or has snapped back... bunging on retaliatory tariffs, boycottting goods, encouraging the citizens to by pass the USA in travel arrangements.. issuing notes via diplomatic channels of disagreement and dismay... The thing is, most nations can wait the USA out, really.. certainly the EU nations, but SA, India, Brazil, China, even Russia, Malaysia, Indonesia, Argentina, Chile, all these places can sit back and ignore the turmoil inside the USA ,

..... because this is the key, The turmoil INSIDE the USA.

These tariffs are horrendous for Americans, and it will become clear, this summer just how horrifying and inexplicable their situation will be made obvious. There is no winning in a tariff war. Everybody loses, and the shoe drops with an almighty thud right where the foot hits the ground..

And for no 'winning'. there'll be no owning of Canada, or Panama or Greenland. This is unacceptable to the rest of the world and will not happen. There is no payout for anyone to allow the USA to follow thru on this madness.

I expect in my lifetime and not that far away, that I'll be seeing the Blue Berets of the UN patrolling the streets of Kansas and Texas and Illinois etc, that groups of Doctors Sans Frontieres will be backpacking into Colorado, and Georgia, .. this kind of thing.

Every forced change of Govt began with the rumblings of the dissenting populace, .. in Hungary, in Indonesia, in South Africa, in Italy, in Poland, in Germany, in Spain, . in China, .. everywhere a forced change of rulership was necessary, it began from the inside and really, there is no success without that factor.

Americans will have to fix this, how, I have no program, but I rely on their ingenuity and their basic intelligence, which is no small thing, combined. .. but only they can fix it, and live with the consequences, which, if they don't fix it, they , not anyone else, will have to endure the fallout.

It's time that Vance and Trump clearly state who they believe is threatening Greenland, and why. Propaganda to justify war needs to stop. Other than the USA, no one is threatening Greenland for any reason.

Four armoured cars for dog sled races? They sounds like a bunch of drunk realtors checking out their new great deal.

"US Vice President JD Vance says he will accompany his wife on the announced trip to Greenland this week. In a video he says Greenland has been ignored for too long by both the US and Denmark and that "that is bad for global security".
...

Greenland Prime Minister Egede is angry about the visit of the heavyweight US delegation, which he sees as "foreign interference". Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen has also sharply criticized the US and speaks of "unacceptable pressure" on Greenland.
...

On behalf of President Trump, I say we want to give the people of Greenland a new boost in security because we care about protecting the security of the entire world."
...

Danish police said yesterday that extra personnel and sniffer dogs had been sent to Greenland as additional security measures for the American visit. Local media also reported the arrival of four armored cars in the center of the capital Nuuk, flown in from the United States."

US increases pressure on Greenland, Vance also visits

It says "enter into negotiations with Denmark" not declare war.... it does say "otherwise acquire" ...but that is still not declare war. Honestly, this "New Expansionism"- difficult to take it seriously however I may be the person who has no brain.

I bet my farm on the Danes making an almighty fool of Vance and the missus, in their unique Danish way, they have had centuries of dealing with usurpers, and raiders and pirates, they didn't get to be a large longstanding kingdom by being silly. They 've kept that for 8 centuries now. That's EIGHT hundred years, they have ways and means and methods of dealing with dunces.

The USA gov't is relying on the population to believe propaganda, and to trust that - after a little pain - they will be rich. That's what they want to hear, and many seem to lack the ability to look beyond that. Until they think about the big picture, they cannot see what is predictable today.

Canadians see what is happening in the USA, but they cannot stop it.

"Canada has the most highly educated workforce in the world. Nearly 58% of Canadians have a post-secondary education. Canadian universities, colleges and vocational institutions are recognized worldwide for producing a highly skilled, globally competitive workforce that fuels the country's growth."

Trump said to Congress that he intends to get/acquire Greenland one way or another. He has also said that he is not against using military force to acquire Greenland.

Greenland is not for sale, neither is Canada. Greenland and Canada have said that they are not opposed to natural resource exploration investment, but they have no interest in losing sovereignty.

That should eliminate any USA discussion about "acquiring" Greenland or Canada, but it hasn't.

I read that they were taking a boy to Greenland to enjoy dog sled racing - pure nonsense.

If you happen to have a joint bank account with your daughter (son), you can use a bank statement with ID, providing your name is on the statement.

The Poor MAGA folks will be the first to start screaming.. . they only understand win or lose, and the constant losing will wear them down first, I suspect ... particularly as they live and breathe for having a clearly defined blame target. ..... it will all come back to Donald, and they'll see , finally, the feet of clay.

The Italians at one stage , and for a few years, too, thought Mussolini was the bees knees, they saluted him, wrote songs about him, some even copied his strut to walk down to the local panetteria, they were cockahoop with Mussolini love, then it all came home to roost, there was no bread on the table, so they dragged him out and hung him upside down from a handy lampost.

This is what happens when people get cross and feel hard done by. And made fools of.

( I recall specifically the shouted threats on that fateful Jan day in Washington, the yells to hang Mike Pence...... these are people for whom nothing is too much)

I wouldn't be too sure about the Panama Canal

Note that Panama has fallen off of Trump's rage radar, for the time being. China was the loser in this deal.
