Casey's Parents & Lawyers Bungle Public Relations

Hello WS :)

RE: the recent interview, I couldn't watch it, I am glad I missed it and thank you to everyone who was brave enough to see it and post.

I was just saying to myself, recently: its good the Anthonys have been quiet. The threads had died down and it was proof that if they would have keep their mouths shut from the beginning, there would not have been all the "invasion" into their lives, they claim has bothered them so much.

BUT!!! I think JVS was getting too much attention...and Cindy couldn't take it...they also did the interview to bring up the 911 call and tell lies about it...jmo.

I am not so much surprised they showed up on the anniversary, I think they will try that bit for as many years as the media will interview them...I see Cindy(if she's not in jail herself) twenty years from now...still telling the same worn story.

IMHO: the court knows they have a dead man walking...so maybe they say: let her pass a card. Who knows why they get the "special" treatment they get? I'll tell you what...the new judge has kept the crap to a minimum(at least in the court room) and I appreciate that.

After all this time, the Anthonys are not one whip different. What happened to Caylee never caused these uber narcissists to miss a step. Their continued insult to the memory and life of their granddaughter tells me exactly why Caylee died. They may be still getting money from the death of their granddaughter at the hands of their daughter...but for greedy people there is never enough money.

For anyone else, life would be a nightmare after what happened to Caylee, but these (unusual) people seem to thrive. The fact that George can show his face in public after his daughter accused him of molesting her, is much more than I can comprehend.

When is this trial again? Sorry for showing up and having nothing of value to post. This is all about Caylee, so I am sorry for saying this but this case has gotten me very depressed, that and the JVS case: I am tired of monsters being on my planet. JMO.

When asked on GMA about KC's allegations of abuse by GA & LA, CA could have taken the opportunity to slip in some mitigation on her daughter's behalf. CA could have said that it is clear that KC has mental issues, that her lying is a manifest of things that maybe they had overlooked when she was younger-CA could have stated that these allegations go to show how far gone KC is in the head. CA could have spun KC's allegation into an argument that KC is a weak and sick person who deserves mercy because, bless her heart, she needed help.
CA had better start taking these opportunities while she can. Once trial is underway, CA will no longer be able to influence the people who count (the jury) through media demonization of LE and the justice system. She's gotta be more clever than she has been because CA and the jury will soon have to confront real evidence that has nothing to do with the web of lies they have spun.

Hi Chiquita, good to see you. The good news is that next month there is a hearing in which I hope the defense would be fishing expedition regarding the TES volunteers will be denied , the judge will say the 911 tapes are coming into trial. (Brad Conway, an attorney for George and Cindy Anthony said he doesn't doubt "for a second" the tapes will be entered into evidence.)
Do you think reality will finally set in the serious plight their daughter is in?
Up until now they seem to be in some altered state, not seeing what is right in front of them. The parents have sat through the hearings listening to the judge deny defense motion after motion after motion. Are they becoming resigned to Casey's fate? Do they see that their PR approach has backfired?

What I do not understand about the perfect little family image that they try to protect is in what family is one child worth lying and covering up felony crimes for and the other so disposable you do not even speak up for him when he is accused of child molestation? If he was confused by family loyalty guilt before, does this , public hanging out to dry that Lee received at his family's hands clear the path for him to empty the bucket, Uncle Rick and Grandma Shirley style?

Lee, if you are reading here today, let your conscious be your guide, watch some videos of your innocent little niece the night before, pray, and get on the stand and tell the truth. It will set you free. It is the only thing in this life that can. Straight away, right after that get your girl, move away and make a new life as Jesse and Tony have closed this painful chapter and began a new day. Maybe you will reconcile it as the bible teaches " Forgive them Father, they know not what they do", but for now everything, including you are a means to an end.

The public relations Cindy train is the delusional we are a normal all American family, we do no wrong, we admit nothing, we have nothing to be sorry for is a delusion that will inevitably destroy you all. Get out of Dodge, and save yourself and your wife! That is my free, but very solid advice. Stop by Uncle Rick's and Grandmas. They've got some PR for ya.

I can't believe that Conway went along with them doing this interview. They actually had their public immage almost under control. They had been quiet, and public attention had drifted away from them. Their daughters case was being debated on pure legal terms for the most part, and fewer emotional, and those paying attention did seem more prone to give the insanity of the A's some benefit of the doubt because of the harsh position they were in.

And then they go and do this interview and start up the steady streams of blame game, enabling, and pure crazy yet again? "I just said I smelled a dead body to get LE there faster"! Ummm? But LE smelled the dead body when they got there. And the dogs hit on the dead body smell when they got there. And George certainly knew that smell and has talked about it to LE and his actions with the tow guy. And oh yeah even that mysterious new "junk science" test says there was a smell of a dead body. These are all well known public facts in this case. To try and change the story to be something else makes CA look at best like an idiot and a lunatic, and at worst like a yet to be charged accomplice. Good job on the PR front there guys!

When comparing their interview yesterday and the one from 6/16/09 I am struck by how their denial has deepened and yet they seem more comfortable with their plight or maybe they are just numb to it!! George just shrugs his shoulders and says "yeah it still hurts" when talking about accusations KC made in her jailhouse letters. Cindy has figured out in her head that again KC wasn't at fault for writing them! They both look well rested and better than a year ago-so I have no doubt that they will be able to live with a guilty verdict too!
Last year their agenda was the CMAFoundation-this year it seems it is Cindy's attempt to neutralize her 911 call. She might as well say something like-So what if I said it smelled like a dead body-"I will lie, I will cheat, I will steal, I will do anything to find my child…..!!!!" :banghead:
Sound familiar?:snooty:KC's just a chip off the old block!! IMO

George and Cindy Anthony On GMA 6/15/10 on Yahoo! Video

Wow, I can't believe Cindy had the nerve to say the Cummings made a big mistake by turning down their help and that you should never turn away help. Pot meet kettle! TM tried to help the As and got a whole lot of grief over it and continues to get dragged into this nightmare. But the worst part was at the very end when she said she was trying to help them after Caylee's memorial---at a time she should have been worrying about herself. If we are to believe Cindy, Casey has been in jail (in solitary confinement for the most part) for a crime she didn't commit. A killer is on the loose and could strike at any moment. But what should Cindy worry about, herself of course.:waitasec: Martyrdom isn't working for her. She needs to take a lesson from Beth Twitty.

How about worrying about your innocent daughter rotting away in jail for something she didn't do (cough cough)?

How about worrying about the murderer on the loose who will surely strike again and kill an innocent child.

Patty, if that's you adding some commentary--keep on doing it. You crack me up.

With regard to the "car smells like a damn dead body" 911 call and watching LA's interview - hearing him describe the horrible smell when he pulled up and smelled his sister's car for the first time where he said "the horrible smell that I had just smelled for the first time" and "it hits you like a wave, whatever it was was very potent"

DOES ANYONE ELSE GET CHILLS TO THINK THAT HE WAS SMELLING THE DECOMPOSING SMELL OF HIS NIECE??? THAT JUST TOTALLY CREEPS ME OUT! ughh.... That must be horrible for them to have to live with. :-(

I am glad that Lee has been wise enough to remain private and not sell his story/interviews/photos. I have always felt that he would tell the truth under oath, for Caylee.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZNZHO2EnZRw
I do believe that Lee tried, very hard, to get to the truth of what happened. I do not believe as others have suggested he had any role, whatsoever, in placing little Caylee's body in the woods or lying for Casey in any manner to cover up what he knew to be the death of Caylee. Was he overwhelmed with shock and confusion, yes, purposely lying to the police, imo...NO.

Florida defense expert William ( Bill ) Sheaffer explains, "If the jury should find that Cindy is not being forthcoming, instead that she is evasive, defensive, angry, combative, etc. We are reminded of the old adage "The fruit hath not fallen far from the tree". It certainly makes folks not view her as not a sympathetic character, and likewise viewing Casey as not a sympathetic character.

If she testifies in this manner it is going to hurt her credibility. The jury is not going to like her. They are going to visit that on Casey.

That will damage Casey's defense; because , it becomes transparent that the witness is attempting to support a defense that is without credibility, or cannot be believed and you are doing that through histrionics instead of just testifying factually and answering questions in a straightforward manner.
There is by the way a jury instruction that says as a juror you to take into account the way the witness answered questions, did they appear to be straightforward, if the witness appeared to have some bias or motive for testifying in the fashion of which they did."

Why hasn't this been made clear to mom and pop or do they continue despite knowing this?

TWA, I'm sure that Cindy and George know this already. Afterall they do read anything and everything they can get their hands on when it concerns them or Casey. The bigger question is do they care or believe it. I'd say they don't. This is a family that thinks telling lies to LE is not a big deal. They will do and say whatever they feel they need to in order to project that "perfect family" image that they so desperately want the world to see. No one is going to be able to tell Cindy anything. If it is something that Cindy does not believe herself there will be no convincing her. I say let them keep talking. Let them continue to do what they have been doing. It will only result in a guilty verdict for Casey and a legal battle (I hope and pray) for themselves after Casey's trial is over, with convictions of their own.

MOO

BBM(the last sentence was bolded by me: the other was already in bold and the video was removed for space.)

Great question that has been nagging me the whole time I have been following this case. It is this exact reason that I have come to trust my intuition that Cindy is a narcissist that raised a sociopath. That maybe Cindy is a sociopath herself, being that I feel she is and has sabotaged Casey over and over again. Any cover up being just to save her own butt, the rest has only hurt Casey: not to mention justice for Caylee.

IMHO: Cindy is just as guilty of misleading and not co-operating with LE in the search for Caylee as Casey is: of course IMO they both knew Caylee was dead and there was no need for a search. And, I can see that once Cindy realized that fact(and that it was Casey who did it)she decided to protect herself and say she was supporting and protecting Casey.

If that had been Cindy's actions,(actually protecting Casey)I might say, well that's her daughter...but Cindy has only caused more trouble. Why?

I sometimes see Cindy sitting among the money, and items of Caylee's that can bring more money...and smiling, smiling like she did when she told a reporter(in the 48 hours "mystery" interview)that she misses both her "girls." My long winded feeling is that Cindy has always been the dark puppet master behind the tragedy that was Caylee's life. (None of this takes away that it was CASEY that killed Caylee) but Cindy is a woman who denied that her daughter was seven months pregnant, and even lied to her own mother about that fact. I don't think Cindy ever loved Casey, and will go on just fine acting like she is ruined for life, if Casey never comes home.

There is no way a loving mother would act as Cindy has, anymore than a loving mother would act the way Casey has...imo. Any "devastation" Cindy felt circa: July 3rd - July 15th was quickly sated as the donations and attention, offers of more money and trips started to poor in. She and George felt they had found "their calling" and "purpose" in life: to help others. Well, we know they have only "helped" themselves to material goods and the sympathy/air time that should be being given to other people. imo.

Cindy says she "dreams" of ICA coming home. Blech! I think the answer to the bolded is: Cindy wants Casey to never come home and wants to keep her daughter and granddaughter in her "dreams" as opposed to having ever lived in "reality." Neither Casey nor Cindy has ever engaged in what any of us would call, reality. imo.

Cindy's "dreams" of KC coming home I'll wager are nightmares of the worst kind. George and Cindy would never sleep again unless they slept in shifts. For the life of me I will never understand why they have said and done the things they have and still do to this day.

  • #234
They both remind me of people on a sinking ship like the Titanic. While everyone else is racing for the lifeboats, they refuse to move from the bed in their cabin. Even as the water rises and it's obvious that the ship is definitely sinking, they sit there and smile, lost in their dreams of a perfect cruise. The water touches their feet and they imagine they are dipping their feet in the water in the cruiseship pool. Cindy is still there, the water up to her waist, and George, I think, has partially come out of it, but since he can't make Cindy move, he's torn between saving his own life, or dying with Cindy. And Cindy knows in her heart that the ship is going down, but refuses to give her up her fantasy of a perfect cruise even if it will kill her.

As for Lee, he's standing there, lifeboat in sight, but he can't seem to leave the ship no matter how hard he tries. He just can't seem to choose between his life and the S.S. CMA.

Yes, Casey is the ship. She's killing her whole family and they are choosing to die instead of saving themselves.

I really wish the A's would do and say the right thing, or do and say nothing at all. The way they are acting, Casey will be lucky to not get that needle in her arm. And no, Cindy, there's no way Casey is ever coming home, nor do you really want her back there. Sometimes, loving someone means having to let them go. My grandfather is currently dying, and instead of being in serious denial about it, I am choosing to accept it and I wish an end to his suffering. The A's need to let Caylee go - she is dead and in a better place now. They also need to let Casey go. They can't change what she did, can't make it all go away, and cannot set her free from her sins. All they are doing is destroying themselves to only move their daughter closer to death.

There is no losing Casey, Cindy. You already lost her a long time ago. The only thing you have left to lose is yourself. The only thing all of them have left to lose is themselves. At the rate they are going, they've already know this and apparently are wlling to foolishly sacrifice themselves for someone who certainly would not do the same for them.

Did we ever find out if mom and pop will be allowed to sit in the courtroom throughout everyone's testimony as the next of kin, or disallowed since they too are witnesses?

I remember when Cindy had to run out of the courtroom when Mr. Ashton was describing the pieces of the duct tape being placed over little Caylee's airways. That was relatively mild compared to how bad it is going to be sitting through hours of it. If you were them what would you want to do? I do believe even if they are ordered not to, they will watch the hearing live on local TV from their home. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AqHWb51QOuo[/ame]

Cindy , "In her own way Casey is protecting Caylee."
Here mom explains that the reason her daughter was indicted was to save Lawson Lamar's career. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wk_v9eVt50g[/ame]
Whatever happened to the secret subpoena requests, do we know? [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lve_sdhzSZI[/ame]
Does this have something to do with the folks the defense ( experts) wanted to visit Casey to have their names secreted?

I had read this post a few minutes ago, and it was over my head ( :) ) until I read the SA witness list and saw Cindy, George and Lee. Now, I have come back to see what everyone has to say regarding that issue. Are we saying that George, Cindy and Lee will only be allowed in the court room when it is their turn to testify? What is the process for those on a witness list? TIA.

As far as "public relations" and the issue of George and his "affair"(alleged?), I see both the Cruz(sp?) sisters are also on the list. I missed a few days of WS after the affair was hanging in the media being "unconfirmed"...did the Anthony's(by way of BC)or themselves ever respond to the story of the affair? Sorry for asking for so much instant information. TIA.
