I know, but what keeps me on the fence is Shawn Hornbeck, abducted in broad daylight while riding his bike, and Mickey Shunick, whose bicycle was found badly damaged and she is still missing. It might be unusual, but these things DO happen. I do wish Mark's actions didn't run up my hinky meter, because I don't like thinking that a father could do something to his child, but I just cannot rule that out, either. But if he was on foot and had gotten further than expected, or if he had a ride part way, and then something happened, they may not have searched far enough.
I had this horrible vision of a vehicle hitting him so hard that he was tossed over the side of hill/back road, backpack and all, and just has not been found. I don't think a car hit him close to home, as they should have found traces of the event. I don't really believe someone would hit him and collect his body. It was broad daylight, and really that is not something that happens or even less than abduction.
