Yes, and IIRC, I remember being surprised when he said he would be staying at the Thayer's "unless something develops in the next couple hours" (hope I have the quote correct from memory)...he didn't say "If we can find them" or "If they come home."

Another parapraxes! ( I have to use this new word 5 times within the next 5 days! LOL)

I learned a new word today!

A Freudian slip, also called parapraxis, is an error in speech, memory, or physical action that is interpreted as occurring due to the interference of an unconscious subdued wish or internal train of thought.

Thanks dixie.
At one time, I would list new words for myself: from crosswords, reading etc.
After having pages, and pages of them, when I checked back, I had forgotten most of them.:(
However, relating them, as here with CW, ghost town, your explanation, I should remember 'parapraxis'.:)

We were discussing whether there is evidence of premeditation.
But, regarding the cover up, if he is innocent of killing his children (if), I believe his actions may have been a panicked attempt to cover the fact he had just murdered his wife.
If “panic” means that you think only of yourself, do not call 911, desecrate the bodies of your loved ones, and calmly tell lie after lie, that’s new behavior to me.

Actually, it is obvious there was a plan. Now WHEN that plan, however half-baked it was, came about we do not know. But those bodies did not hide themselves, CW did not get to work in timely fashion by accident, dead wife did not text/call herself, and a story that they were missing did not concoct itself. This was a plan. No plan would have been finding CW home in shock, devastation, and/or grief IMO.
Rightfully, for justice to be served, we cannot know all of the evidence in this case at this time. What we do know is an experienced, capable prosecutor who knows everything we don't has charged him with 5 charges of first-degree murder, which indicates premeditation.

I have to think not washing them would be explained by either, again, being dumb or there’s something on them that won’t wash out (eek). I don’t think we have any info as to what may have been on the sheets. Jmo.

IMO he was getting rid of the sheets not because there was something on them, but because he realized he’d left the matching sheet behind at the burial site & didn’t want it to be matched to anything in the home.

1. Yes, I answered that first. This was a PS (as in, hey also!)
2. premeditation is actually not what we were discussing - it was pre-planning. Premeditation can take seconds, minutes...since it took up to 5 minutes to kill each of 3 people, I think they won't have a problem with premeditation. Also, see my point about demeaner/poise in furtherance of this.
3. that does not make sense - why hide the children if he didn't also kill them? as I said, he could have said she ran out the back door! Only one body to get rid of then. Panicked? So panicked he did an incredible job calling/texting his dead wife that morning (calculating, not panicked) IMO and appears quite calculating in the interviews IMO. You just witnessed and engaged in the murder of your ENTIRE family - and no one sees any signs of devastation? guilt? remorse? grief? Just hand him the pizza. He has his own ways of dealing with it apparently.

Thank you so very very much for taking the time to find the documents that people are asking for also in addition to apparently having a great spreadsheet with all the links.
You rock!

Certainly not out of the realm. And even if they hadn’t found the burial site (and the sheet left there), a sheet set missing the fitted just laying around in the linen closet is a little odd. And probably anathema to SW given what we know about her organization skills.

And yet, although we have heard the same argument over and over, I'm still not willing to convict until I hear all the evidence....so.

Unless your pregnant wife and children are murdered. Then you have a big problem.
MOO

Posters are saying that he would not like to be the guy known as leaving his pregnant wife. I see that people seem to accept adultry while wife is pg ,so I do not think that he would be concerned about it

Do we know that sheets were not found in another location (master bedroom), or that LE searched the garbage when responding to a missing persons call (first time at the home)?
On the initial walk through of the house, the police are not allowed to search as they are there for a wellness check. They have no idea of what has occurred there. They did note that there was a pile of bed linens on the floor of the master bedroom. On the second day, they found a top sheet and pillow cases in the kitchen trash can. I keep wondering why he did not put them in the washer that was upstairs outside the MBR. MOO

A panicked attempt to cover up? But he displayed no panic, nor grief, nor remorse, nor love. I believe he had been planning this for days or weeks, and the doll with the Twister sheet over it was indeed posed by him. I think it will have a LOT to do with AP. Like Scott Peterson, CW was deep in a spell of lust. Someone pointed out that SP wanted to be free of wife and unborn child and yet was willing to take on Amber and her daughter! It's just so sad and bizarre, and I think similarly CW just wanted a do-over, something different, was in a weird and crazy spell and that along with his sociopathic tendencies created a perfect storm. Another thing worth noting in the videos: in the pregnancy reveal video, SW seems almost afraid when CW made the joke about the pink line indicating a girl. It seemed he must have made VERY clear that he wanted a boy. In other videos she talked about him as a great dad, but not a great husband. I think he had become a very bad husband. IMO, MOO.

I agree it’s unusual and may seal his fate whether he’s guilty of the entirety of the charges or not.

First Degree Murder: Definition

In most states, first-degree murder is defined as an unlawful killing that is both willful and premeditated, meaning that it was committed after planning or "lying in wait" for the victim. For example, Dan comes home to find his wife in bed with Victor. Three days later, Dan waits behind a tree near Victor's front door. When Victor comes out of his house, Dan shoots and kills him.

I didn't know I was asking you to help me string him up by the ankles in the town square. JK. This is not a courtroom. We go on the evidence we have in front of us. Nobody is suggesting sending CW to prison without a fair and full trial. And everyone here would take new evidence into consideration as it comes our way.

I also wondered if he wasn't preemptively explaining why he had the lights on all night, in case someone noticed - in fact he was doing some cleaning up, things he planned to do before reporting her missing when his plan got derailed.
It was a really odd thing to say and imo, the reason for it is the one you've suggested, but the way he introduced it into his interview, was if having all the lights on would guide SW and the girls home! As you can see, I read into things too, LOL! :D

Agreed, which IMO is not enough for me to categorically say he is guilty of killing the girls.

I only like very expensive sheets but I cannot afford to pay for them. When they would go on super clearance, I would buy a bottom sheet different from the top. Matching colors worked fine.If there was a pattern I really liked or the thread count was fabulous, I would buy only a top or bottom sheet if available and worry about a match another time.No one would be able to tell if sheets are missing.

I imagine the Watts had matching sets, however.

What evidence are you currently aware of that leads you to believe this was pre-planned?

The premeditated issue seems obvious, given there are more than one person killed. After the first death, the decision was made to keep going.
