Which I think why MM has not testified. I believe HE was one of the people Jodi called post-murder. She may have been in a fog, but he certainly wasn't. Juan knew this, and if he lied about it, Juan could get him for perjury. JMO, of course.

It could of been at Matt or Darryl, IIRC she didn't have any family there on her trip. I can't remember if Juan asked Darryl what was her hair color that morning she showed up for breakfast and Jodi was acting so normal. Or is she showed up with a new color when she brought back remote.

I guess that would be a good question to ask Matt.

I do remember Jodi telling her journal sometime in March 2008 that she was going to change her hair color. IIRC she said she was getting tired of the upkeep in being a blonde. Ryan Burns said she was blonde a the PPL convention in March 2008. I don't remember that date though., and was surprised she showed up a brunette in Utah.

Do you remember La Roux - Fanci Full Rinse .it's been around for ages and it easy to do. You could do it in a car if needed. You just apply it and let it dry.

I think (correct me if I am wrong) but when she rented the car, wasn't she at her half-sister's house, the bro-in-law might have been the man the rental guy saw with her? He was the one who said she was a blonde at the time of the rental. IIRC Juan did not ask Darryl the color of her hair and I recall at the time thinking that it was odd that he did not go there. Thank you for the tidbit that she did talk about changing her hair color in her journal in March of 2008. (hmmm interesting) That selfie she took in the car sure looked like a freshly dyed hair job, however was there a date for that particular photo? I still am of the belief the hair was dyed some where along the way on her long driving journey. (JMO)

Thanks, ILikeToBendPages. I've never heard Fancy Full Rinse. It suspect she dyed her hair on the third as she is too vain to wait long to pose for a selfie to show it off Matt's or Darryl s place, probably. Another reason to keep Matt off the stand.

Katharine, after the rental, she had a sleep at her sister's house. If my memory is correct. So, it could have been on this day. As Tex Mex points out, the selfies were taken on the third of June. Personally, if I were going to colour my hair, I'd do it at my sisters but Arias was comfortable at Matt's and Darryl's places. As ILTBP suggests, it could have been done from the car - the road - as you mention also.

I was thinking more Histrionic Personality Disorder. It's in the same cluster as BPD and NPD. But I'm just a mental health therapist/social worker. I can't make unsupervised diagnosis lol.

Good observation Tssiemer; she definitely has traits consistent with HPD, however she has the "hallmark" traits of BPD. Within each cluster of personality disorders there are many traits that "overlap" with other PD's of a given cluster--thus the need for differential diagnosis.

Just a side note: During the development of the DSM V, Clinicians and Researchers alike called for BPD/HPD to either be combined or for HPD to be eliminated altogether because these two disorders shared so many characteristics/traits that it was very, very difficult for many practitioners in the field to tease out which one of the two PD's a given client presented with. And while in the end they didn't do either, the developers did a much needed revision of PD's including moving toward a more "trait based" system that lends more clarity to the diagnostic process.

Well, honestly both HPD and BPD (albeit to a lesser extent) diagnoses to some degree indicate gender related "issues" as do APD and NPD

As I lay trying to go to sleep, it hit me that Jodi stopped at her brother Carl's place (so he must live in Redding, CA area) and it was Carl that went with her to the rental car place. (yes I think about this just before going to sleep---eeek!!). So forgive me for my prior error in my posting. Ahh, so Jodi went to her half-sister's after she returned from the long trip to sleep. I wonder how much older the half-sister is and was there much involvement in her half-siblings lives (guess enough that Jodi slept at her house). I wonder not that it matters where the half-sister lives. Thank you TexMex for the exact date that selfie was taken (June 3, 2008). I wonder if it will ever come out such as after the trial just exactly when her hair color changed (from those who saw it). Thank you everyone for your posts. (JMO)

Thanks, Katharine, you are correct. She told Nurmi she went to her brother's place after renting the car and had a nap. (3.06 onward). Not her sister's. It was her married brother's place. Carl is younger than Jodi, I think.

Yet when Juan asks her who took her to to the rental place, she claims that she can't remember if it was her brother's neighbour or her sister-in-law (1.15)

Between the defence and the prosecution, she changes her story. This is why it is so hard to keep track of her lies - and why I referenced her sister. One minute her brother dropped her off, the next her sister-in-law - or possibly a neighbour. Or maybe both shared the drop off and pick up. Why she is fuzzy here is interesting.

I have not read the journal entrees, but I do have a question. Does anyone believe that Jodi was truly suicidal? If she was does anyone think that maybe her intention was to kill Travis with the knife then shoot herself? I am not even sure that I think it is a possibility, it's just that there are so many comments from statements in her journal about being suicidal.

TrialWatcher, from all I can totally recall if correct, is that the half-sister has not been "involved" in any way in this case (only that Jodi has a half-sister, I think that the age differences might have interfered in a relationship of sorts and this is just my opinion). I appreciate TexMex that you and TrialWatcher took the time to look these up and point out just where in testimony these events took place. TrialWatcher, Carl is abt 2 yrs younger than Jodi. Now we have the exact time(s) of this particular selfie taken on June 3, 2008 which maybe was just after she colored her hair and more pointedly too prior to Jodi going to Wal-Mart to purchase the gas can (hope I am right on that part buying the gas can). Lol. I wasn't trying to correct you on anything Katharine. The posts just made me curious so I rewatched the testimony for timeline info

June 3 Jodi shows up at Darryl's, close to Monterey, around 7am. She ate breakfast with him and son Jack. She checked her email on his computer. She got the gas cans (she had called him twice in late May and early June asking to borrow them).
She leaves but calls Brewer back (juan says btwn 9-10am). Oops she is turning around. She had a remote control he needed

She is depositing money in Washington Mutual in Monterey:


10:10 a.m. $400 to account # ending 8006
10:11 a.m. $300 to account # ending 7148
10:15 a.m. $100 to account # ending 7148

IMO Juan was hinting that during that time 10:30 - 2 she was getting her hair dyed and her nails and waxing done. IIRC Jodi testified she got her nails done


At 2:12, 2:25 and 2:28 she's taking selfies on the Helio phone


The next record of her on June 3 is

At 3:22 p.m., Arias goes shopping at a Wal-Mart and buys two facial cleansers a gas can and 2 unidentified items. The sale total was $43.90 and she paid cash.
