So the body was found by the Queen Elizabeth bridge, seen by a member of the public. According to google maps that’s only a couple of miles down the river from where they went in.
It's literally the bridge to the left of the boat clubs looking out to the river, pretty much where they likely went in. That's pretty incredible it's been found so close. Hopefully the other sister will surface.

Ugh

Oh no how sad. Rest in peace

Very sad news, here's hoping the other sister is found today as well.

So close to where they were last seen.

How sad. Seems it really was a suicide mission after all.

I was hoping they escaped somewhere on a boat, however far-fetched that seemed.

It's really very close. The BBC article shows a photo of the boathouse that the sisters didn't walk beyond and the Queen Elizabeth Bridge is just slightly beyond that.
Indeed close, but with the tidal River doesn't mean it was close to there all that time. Just that is one of the busiest areas for people being to spot something as further up it is only visible on one side and even then not many are walking near the banks till you get up near the Garthdee end.

But why??!!

For anyone that comes across this thread and needs to talk.

<modsnip - unnecessary> I wasn't suggesting the body has been there the whole time. I was simply responding to the OP about the proximity of the bridge to where they believe the sisters entered the water i.e. not miles away.

I’m truly relieved that one of these sisters was found.
It is so much worse not knowing where they are or thinking they may never be found.
Wishing peace to their loved ones as they process this extremely sad and painful loss.
Sweet Henrietta and Eliza- may you rest with the angels.

If it's been cold enough, and there hasn't been predation by water fauna, the body may still have fingerprints able to be taken.

If not, it may be down to dentals to get a precise identification.

Identical twins have the same basic DNA, but their fingerprints and dentals will be individual to them.

(Yes, I know there are ways to distinguish individual twins from each other with things like immunological variation, but that's only really helpful when there are known exemplars. Because they lived together, who knows which toothbrush belonged to which sister.)

Will someone lead me to the article that confirms its one of them?

Confirmation of identity will take some time.

As far as I know, though, the sisters are the only people missing in the River Dee at this time, so it being one of them seems more probable than not.

I get that but the concrete comments made me believe it had been announced I couldn’t find it

OK so it seems they are sure which sister it is...

The body of a woman has been recovered from the River Dee in Aberdeen on Friday, 31 January, 2025.
The body was seen in the river east of Aberdeen Boat Club around 7.55am and has since been recovered.
While the woman is yet to be formally identified, the family of Henrietta Huszti, 32, who had been reported missing in the area on Tuesday, 7 January, has been informed.
Enquiries are ongoing but there are no apparent suspicious circumstances.
Searches remain ongoing for her sister Eliza Huszti, who was also reported missing in the area at the same time.
The Police Scotland Dive and Marine Unit and other specialist officers are carrying out further searches of the river and the riverbanks between the Queen Elizabeth Bridge and Victoria Bridge today.
Superintendent David Howieson said: "Our thoughts are with the Huszti family today. We are keeping them fully updated following this recovery and the further search activity which is ongoing.
"Our priority remains finding both of the sisters and search has focused on the River Dee and will do so in the coming days. Nothing from our extensive enquiries so far suggest either sister left the immediate area after they were last seen on Tuesday, 7 January. There is also nothing to suggest any suspicious circumstances or criminality."
"We are carrying out further searches of the river in the area where the body was recovered this morning. The river in this area is tidal and conditions are challenging but we will continue to search and make every effort to locate both of the sisters.
"We have sought guidance from a number of experts and this will continue to inform our search activity.”
Henrietta and Eliza were last seen were last seen on Market Street at the Victoria Bridge over the River Dee around 2.12am on Tuesday, 7 January, 2025.
They crossed the bridge and turned right onto a footpath next to the river heading towards Aberdeen Boat Club.
They were reported missing after concerns were raised about them later the same day.
Superintendent Howieson added: "We know how much of an impact this has had in Aberdeen and much further afield.
"We have had a positive response from the public to our appeals and I would like to thank everyone who has already come forward to date.
"I would again urge anyone with any information which could help our investigation to get in touch."
Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 0735 of Tuesday, 7 January, 2025.

If there was a lawful basis to request them, which I would have thought there would be in these circumstances if it could potentially shed light on the investigation, they could request then and obtain them. So sad to hear this mornings news.

I wondered about this earlier. Would their medical records be disclosed to the police? They are missing persons,so must be presumed to be alive.

Police Scotland have posted on their facebook page about the body found. It seems they are quite confident that it is Henrietta. There's no official identification done yet (which, as you say, could take a while) and I'm not sure what details they would use to arrive at this conclusion. Here's the important section from their post:
