I did not know it was this high!I looked up some stats and around 200 people in the UK take their own lives in the water each year.

Do we know what the other sister did for work?
In the CCTV footage they look hurried, one sister had the strap of her handbag over her opposite shoulder, protecting it, as if she knew they were in an unsafe location.
I grew up in Aberdeen. Torry is one of the less desirable neighbourhoods and I can’t fathom why they would be walking out of town towards there at that time of night. There would be plenty places to buy food/supplies in the city centre. The path would be pitch black, leads to nowhere and isn’t a really a short cut to the main road. Walking down Market Street would become very quiet and given they have lived there for several years there is no chance they got lost/took a wrong turn.
IMO but all I can think of is they were meeting someone for some reason.
Knowing where they live might help to answer that - could they have just been heading home from a night out?
Wonder if there is any evidence if they were approached by someone, or an individual heading towards them and they averted their direction? And then did that individual(s) follow them down the path? Speculation here. Other than that it is worrisome IMO. MOOThey live in "Aberdeen City centre" as per the BBC article. So we can conclude they were heading away from their home.
Hopefully this image I made may help. According the CCTV location (starting point in the image) it was a mile away from their last known location. I added the dirt path onto the map, as you can see it simply leads back to the main road, so is hardly a shortcut to anywhere they couldn't have got to by sticking to the main roads.
Lastly, if their intention was to continue on from the dirt path, it leads to the roundabout on the A596 road, which from the starting CCTV location would have been more logical/direct/quicker to get to by going to the west of the bus station via S College St.

No, Torry is not classed as the city centre. The location from CCTV (Charlotte St) would be classed as city centre and there are loads of flats around that area. I would assume that picture is possibly taken nearest to where they live?Knowing where they live might help to answer that - could they have just been heading home from a night out?
ETA it's been said they live in the centre, would you class Torry as part of the centre?
Thanks, it's so nice getting first hand info from folks from or living there. Gives us an idea, picture and vibe of the place.I grew up in Aberdeen. Given we have heard that they went down the dirt path, and there is a CCTV camera right across from that path (can see it on google street view) entrance, there must be cctv of them going down there. Surely if there were other people around police will have put out some shots of people they want to talk to as potential witnesses?Wonder if there is any evidence if maybe they were approached by someone, or an individual heading towards them and they averted their direction? Thanks for this info. Seemingly, it could be a bit of a ropey part of the city? Could there have been some undesirables along that path potentially? But again, if the CCTV captured the ladies going onto that path, it must have recorded others going along that path too.No, Torry is not classed as the city centre. That’s what I can’t understand - they have essentially walked though the city centre and out the other side. The harbour area is not somewhere you would want to walk at that time of nights. It is well know for prostitution/drugs (not implying at all they are involved in that, just trying to give some context to the area). Two lone females would not walk around there alone for no reason. Especially as they are likely walking away from where they live.
If you continue down Victoria Road into Torry there are lots of flats on Menzies Road and Walker Road which is residential. It just makes no sense to have gone down that path - as the side of the river is entirely industrial. Thanks, it's so nice getting first hand info from folks from or living there. The info you stated is really good to know. Maybe a friend in distress? Sounds like industrial and not really residential in the Torry area? Or are there residences? Is it low income, drugs or high crime area kinda thing?
*ETA: you answered some of my questions in your above reply but you were faster than me lol
There are Goldstar Cleaners in that area. Maybe she was a night time office cleaner. This article says she is a cleaner.

Missing twin sisters 'seemed normal' before disappearance, says friend
Eliza and Henrietta Huszti have been missing from Aberdeen since early on Tuesday morning.news.stv.tv
The closest hospital to Charlotte St (where the photo is located) is Cornhill, which is a mental health hospital and doesn’t have an A&E. The main Aberdeen Royal Infirmary is further up Westburn Road. Both the hospitals however are nowhere near where police state they were last seen over Victoria Bridge in Torry. They are a completely different direction. There's a hospital below the last seen. Could they have been going to the hospital?
Or, above seems possible and they were going to clean an office.

The hospital icon you see on the map is Torry medical practice (googly maps uses the same "H" icon for any healthcare type location). It would probably only be open Monday- Friday daytime. There's a hospital below the last seen. Could they have been going to the hospital?

Plausible that they were going to a cleaning job? Although I would expect office cleaning to be more 5am than 2am and I would think they might get a taxi given the very cold weather??
Hi! There's is a lot more information in earlier posts. Probably helpful to read through those -- seems they are part of a close-knit family and neither family nor friends detected any concern.Yes, you're correct.
This news report from the guardian says Police in Scotland are working with the Hungarian police.
Maybe that indicates someone, or something, in their past could have caused this disappearance.
