He took part in following and blocking Arbery, got so close Arbery had to run into a ditch. When the video hit the public it's because Greg wanted it released thinking it would show their innocence.

I have to disagree on the race thing. Other people entered that home and there didn't seem to be any attempt to get their identity or follow in the area.

Yah, alot of curious people entered that home under construction.

oh I think they went after him because he was black, what I was opining on was the fact the defence want to bring in Arbery THC levels, or his past convictions, or his mental health, everything they did not know about him when they hunted him down, so all they did know was he was black and they wanted him arrested, the judge has rightly IMO excluded all of the things the defendants did not know when they went after him

sadly I think they and many more like them think they have every right to do what was done to Arbery,

The word I'm questioning is "arrested". IMHO, they didn't intend to arrest him. That story came after the killing, iirc.

I think they did intend to get hold of him which is why they called LE but I also think that in taking the guns they did not care how they got hold of him, I don't think they set out to murder him but if they did harm or kill him in their attempt to get hold of him then I doubt they would have thought it wrong. I do think he was shot by McMichael deliberately, he had choices to just leave him be and let the police do their job,

I also think they are beyond shocked that they are charged and on trial, I do believe they think they did nothing wrong, and they were entitled to do what they did

Family members of Ahmaud Arbery expressed outrage Thursday after the judge in the trial of three white men accused of killing the Black man said there was nothing he could do about the racial makeup of the jury.

Superior Court Judge Timothy Walmsley in Georgia acknowledged Wednesday there "appears to be intentional discrimination" when looking at how the jury of 11 white people and one Black person was selected.

The family's attorney, Benjamin Crump, said Thursday that Arbery "is again denied justice," and he found it "outrageous that Black jurors were intentionally excluded to create such an imbalanced jury."

A University of California, Berkeley, study in 2020 found that prosecutors in hundreds of California appellate court trials examined from 2006 to 2018 used peremptory challenges to strike Black jurors from nearly 75 percent of cases and Latino jurors from about 28 percent of cases, while white jurors were removed from only 0.4 percent of cases.

“Stop, I’ll blow your f---ing head off,” Greg McMichael told police he warned Arbery, according to the prosecutor. McMichael, his son and a neighbor did not just chase Arbery in their pickup trucks last year, Dunikoski said — the older McMichael described trapping the 25-year-old Black man “like a rat.”


Calling 911 just before Arbery was shot, she noted, McMichael did not describe a crime.

“All of this, and what does he say his emergency is?” Dunikoski told the jury. “ ‘I’m out here in Satilla Shores, and there’s a Black male running down the street.’ That’s the emergency.”

Since I just kind of pop in now and again on certain cases, I'm not really familiar with what gets a thread and what doesn't. I just assumed there is reason for it, maybe that was stated at the break of the case. I'm glad this one is being discussed though because I think many people here offer very informative info from outside articles, court documents and such.

It’s really odd that that one doesn’t. Anyone can start one I believe as I started one once just to get the victim’s name out so maybe no one has either? I don’t know that I can stomach watching that one either so won’t - honestly I’m not that informed about that trial to be honest.
Yes, I find this forum much more dignified that the comments section of most social media and news stories. It’s so disheartening out there at times…

I don't know what you mean. It appears that many African American jurors were stricken for cause because they said their minds were made up and that they couldn't be impartial. The court strikes for cause, not counsel, so Ms. Hogue is not responsible for them being removed -- the judge is. jmo
