I’m late to this thread so I apologize if this is a silly question.
So they just finished setting up a jury pool to pull a jury from, but the trial is not supposed to start until 2/22?
I have never heard of that. Usually trials start immediately after jury selection. What would be the reason?

The trial has started today; federal one starts later.

English's depo is the evidence I'm most looking forward to hearing, especially any & all parts related to the theft of stuff out of his boat.

I'm guessing the defense (GMM, TMM) may say either/both had "reasonable suspicion" to believe AA had stolen the stuff, which was expensive enough the theft would be considered a felony. (Paraphrase, MM to LE: "if he had stolen anything, it was earlier on".)

Otherwise, imo the State did an excellent job of dismantling the necessary predicate of a legal citizen's arrest (the immediate knowledge portion).

Off topic: Is there a Kyle Rittenhouse thread... I can't find one.

If there is I haven't been able to find it, and I've been looking.

Yeah, I been looking since before the trial started...and nothing shows up...

The court is having a discussion about the State making mention of the lapse in time during the incident and GBI coming in on the 5th.

Defense is moving to lessen the time for the prosecution's closing statement since the opening sounded so much like a closing.

According to Gough, anyway. Appreciate & admire this judge's demeanor & rulings, again.

Gough is who I'm looking forward to seeing the most. He's torn down Roddie's character from the very beginning and while I'm finding what the three did as horrendous and unacceptable, I almost feel a little bad that Roddie hasn't been able to afford a better attorney than the attorney who basically called him stupid and a 98 lb weakling since the first live interview with Chris Cuomo. Not to mention the other lawyers in this case having to listen to him rambling on all the time.

And I do like the judges approach so far on everything.

I was surprised there doesn't seem to be one. It's unfortunate, as I find that trial to be fascinating and informative.

I am already irritated by defense with their can the jury be instructed they can lower or remove their masks because constitutionally we get to look at the jurors faces.

Yes, if there was ever a judge I'd want to appear in front of, he seems like a nice one, good demeanor, and professional.
