Gough is so whacky and annoying it's almost like he's some made up character in a movie. And the funny thing is, he KNOWS he's annoying and whacky. Even the judge looks at Gough with a smirk because he knows damn near everything Gough comes up with is a waste of breath.

He's the perfect example of "if you can't dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with bulls**t".

Why do you think Roddy may have more difficulty with the jury?

All he did is drive and video it. Is there any proof he did more?

He turned in the video which is why there were the arrests. If not for him nothing would have happened.

If not for him AA would almost certainly be alive.

Roddy can't & hasn't claimed he recognized AA or associated him with *any* crimes, alleged or actual, misdemeanor or felony. He saw a white truck chasing a black man & joined in without a clue or a question; tried to hit AA with his truck; was solely responsible for blocking AA from trying to run OUT of the neighborhood. And, by chasing AA down Holmes & blocking him in between the 2 trucks, cutting off his escape on that direction, he forced AA right towards TM's aimed gun.

The fact he video taped the chase & killing without ever saying a word, even when he saw AA be shot & collapse, is imo exceedingly damning, as is his belief the video made any of them look good.

Leaving the issue of race aside altogether (which imo won't be possible for the jury, or in reality).

The fact of GA's citizen's arrest law (and permissive gun laws) is what has always made a hung jury or outright acquittal most likely imo. All jurors really have to believe is:

1. the MMs had reason to worry about crime in their neighborhood.
2. The MMs (and jurors too) had reason believe AA shouldn't have been in E's house, repeatedly, at night.
3. The MMs recognized AA as the "intruder."
4. The MMs believed AA had stolen thousands of dollars worth of stuff from E's boat.
5. The MM's armed themselves because they believed AA might be armed.
6. Last, and crucially, that the MMs "just" wanted AA to stop running, AND that he would have if he had nothing to hide.

Roddy imo may have more difficulty with the jury.

Even if all that were relevant, the MM's could also have simply followed AA all the way to his house
He's the perfect example of "if you can't dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with bulls**t".

A Jose Baez wannabe??

I don't believe that. I believe that people will listen thoughtfully to the evidence presented. I am disturbed by this case, because I wouldn't want vigilantes driving around my neighborhood deciding who belongs there.

It was as simple as a phone call to the police. And move on. The accused are not LEO. They don't have a right to stop someone or chase them.

The whole thing is sketchy to me. I don't know much about this case, but three men, with guns, against one guy?

It isn't about race. The whole thing is messed up.

Unfortunately, I have to disagree with you. I've been following this case since the beginning. Of all the people who entered the English construction site, all shown on camera, all white with the exception of AA, not one of them was pursued or confronted by locals. They just zeroed in on AA. And English, even stated way back when, when he disclosed that fishing gear was missing from his boat, acknowledged that he didn't know when or where it went missing because he didn't notice it was gone until after the boat was towed back to his other home. Everything about this murder played out like a concerted effort of numerous individuals in Satilla Shores to focus on one person and one person only. If you can find them still and have time to review the security tapes of the days leading up to AA's murder and just how many people were involved on the day he was killed you might amend your opinion. IMO

How many white guys that jogged through that neighborhood were chased down and shot?

And according to police he did hit AA with his truck.

For starters, have you seen any of this?

Gough fired as Public Defender

No. None of that came up. Probably because the trial has started and all the links are about that. So thanks.

I read that article at your link and googled to see if he was ever reinstated (because he said he was seeking reinstatement) and was very surprised to find this that says the local NAACP disagreed with the firing. :::shrug:::

From the link bbm:

While some want Lane gone, they also said they want Gough to come back.

Small said he’s concerned about what his absence will mean for the community.

“Take the person who is most capable of defending the poor, the needy and the downtrodden and remove him from the office, what will they replace it with? With someone who will go about to get along,” Small said.

Thank you for this link. I followed the baby Antonio Santiago murder case. Now I realize my distaste for Gough is not new and not just based on this case. I failed to make the connection until I read the article about his termination as a PD back in 2017 and they mentioned Santiago's case.

Now that I realize and think back to THAT trial, I can say he hasn't changed much in his style.

The most apt word for Gough at the time after he'd been fired & the NAACP is "transactional." On both sides. Really, the Gough (and GCounty) backstories are *very* convoluted. Ask yourself, though: can you really imagine from what you have seen of Gough that he'd be a passionate advocate for indigent black clients?

I haven't seen anything of Gough. That's why I asked. I've only just begun following here, and I haven't been able to watch any of it live. Thanks for the info.

I have to disagree on the race thing. Other people entered that home and there didn't seem to be any attempt to get their identity or follow in the area.

The others entering the property is pretty telling to me.

He took part in following and blocking Arbery, got so close Arbery had to run into a ditch. When the video hit the public it's because Greg wanted it released thinking it would show their innocence.

What's also telling is that English told LE *several* times he thought the white couple caught on his surveillance video were probably responsible for thefts, but the only still from E's surveillance videos police officer Rash went from house to house asking SS neighbors to look at was of a black man.

Who is he? Nothing comes up when I google except general lawyer stuff and this case.

This was the first I learned of him. I about died when he talked about Bryan's intelligence and physical size. Starts at 1:57.

trying to get this officer to act as an expert on use of force and self defense. Prosecutor and Judge aren't having it.

@MissVWaters

One juror literally shielded herself using her notebook, as she found herself unable to watch the graphic bodycam footage.

I applaud the judge for continually denying the defence from bringing in issues that do not pertain to that day, it does not matter what Arbery has done in his life prior to that day, all the defendants knew that day was they saw a black man who they felt needed to be arrested and so they went after him to arrest him,
trying to get this officer to act as an expert on use of force and self defense. Prosecutor and Judge aren't having it.
my ears perked up at that, state will need to be on the ball to keep the defence limited to the judges rulings,
