I can't even with this fist argument. AA has fists, so he's dangerous. How much weight did TM have on AA?

  • #242
just referenced that TM testified thinking "something is not right" with AA - trying to suggest the gateway mental health or drugs. Sheffield hopes the jury can read what he is laying down since he can't bring evidence of either topic in.

Omg Sheffield is making this stuff up . All assumptions.

Yeah, agreed. He said it, too, where he said English said AA acted like that on the dock.

You can't put a handprint on a vehicle going the speed limit. Sorry, you can't. So why was RB driving so slow or not moving his truck?

IMO when he (and Travis) go there it's a wink wink nod nod to the jury that something HAD to be wrong with AA because he didn't submit or obey their orders, then dared to fight for his life rather than risk getting shot in the back like a dog.

I don't know if the jurors view Sheffield like I do, but I think he is so arrogant it's hard to listen to him. I would have preferred Rubin to give the closing.

I know this is a closing "argument" but his tone in front of the jury just doesn't sit well with me. He's talking AT them, versus what LD did and had a conversation.

Yeah, I have wondered if in some trials one side or the other has the upper hand because they have a much more likeable person representing them.

Linda Dunikoski is super engaging and explained everything so clearly without ever sounding patronising. Sheffield just comes across as a brat lol arrogant and snappy, I’m over him. Greg’s attorneys I can’t even remember them honestly. And I’m not sure Gough can follow a cohesive, linear narrative. Anything that comes out of his mouth is a word salad, and I can’t imagine the jury being particularly stoked about having to listen to him.

AA is doing it all this Sunday, burglary, fleeing, carjacking, fist assaulting. Damn, busy guy. Smh.

But the defense were perfect angels. I can’t buy it.

I wish LD will show the hedges blocking AA from running right unless he passes I front of the truck and turns his back on the guns.

For all they knew at that moment he could’ve been hard of hearing. Give me a break, honestly

Fortunately the prosecution gets rebuttal-----

Well, that's the thing. Whether he's on drugs or has mental problems or can't hear, to me, that does explain his behavior for months. But it doesn't justify his murder.

Listen to him inject race. "not about killing a black jogger." Can we play the f'ing N comment now?

According to the prosecutor -- isn't the law that you need to be there to see the crime --live or via live video -- to make a citizen's arrest? How can Sheffield argue probable cause when TM didn't actually see AA in the construction place that day??? I'm confused.

I can't wait until LD gets ahold of this for rebuttal. She will rip every last one of these half baked arguments to bits and I am HERE FOR IT!

back from a live shot on the @wsbradio

[she missed about 8 minutes of Sheffield's closing]

JS: The State is going to play the recording of Bryan turning, revving, the third interaction #AhmaudArbery had with his truck and Bryan's so freaked out he drops his phone. You hear noise but never hear yelling and no communication between Travis or Greg

JS: State wants you to think it's this moment when Greg said "I'm gonna blow your GD head off!" If he had you'd hear it.

JS: Now he's running at Travis. We have that palm print on the door. It supports Travis's belief he was trying to get in that truck. And here he comes. Travis finally takes a stand and says Do not come any closer to me.

JS: Travis reaches into truck and that's what causes #AhmaudArbery to turn. Travis testified I ran to him about 10 yards. My main concern, this guy's got a gun, I'm trying to avoid situation from happening.

JS: There's two options. Watching him until police arrive and giving directions, and stopping him. He's not going to chase him but he will try to stop him and detain him especially as he's coming. So he watches, to be ready. And by the way where are the police?

JS: Travis asks, Dad did you call the police? No, I don't have my cell phone. Travis dials, gives dad phone. That's what they do, they call the police. Now #AhmaudArbery's coming back for the 2nd time.

JS: Travis told Det. Nohilly, we learn thru rehabilitation on direct exam, he said the same--there's something not there. This gentleman's not connecting it up. Something's not right. I'm telling him to quit, stop coming at me, I see where this is going

JS: By the way, fists can be a weapon in aggravated assault. And as #AhmaudArbery is running toward Travis McMichael, he COULD have a gun, and he definitely has fists. And he's coming after being told the 1st time to stop and turn around and he didn't do it.

Huh?

Yeah, that's why they picked burglary on Feb 11th. It's a felony. And he's trying to catch him due to that, because the citizen's arrestvlaw says you can chase while "fleeing."

It's the defense i fear they will buy.

The prosecution will hopefully argue how long you can chase/flee.

He absolutely just told the jury to act in defense of white, don't let outside influences "penetrate" your consciousness, that it will take courage, but that hell, Travis is a victim of a scary black man & it's your duty to the team to save him. Truly nauseating.

Yes, but I thought the judge ruled that the right to make a citizen's arrest when the person is "fleeing" extinguishes basically immediately after the alleged crime. You can't wait days to catch someone "fleeing" -- I thought that was the judge's ruling on Friday. Did it change over the weekend?
