@hope_iam

Defense makes request to judge to refrain from asking jurors if they’re close to a decision. Judge says he won’t and he only did so last night to see if they needed to keep them longer. Jury comes back into courtroom.

Judge tells jury they can return to jury room to continue deliberations. Judge thanks jurors for their service. And…now everyone waits as jurors head back

Was there any "specific" time that the jury started their deliberations? TIA! :)

Jury has asked to see a video and is coming back into the courtroom to watch.
The jury is requesting to rewatch videos and listen to 2/23 911 call.
The judge just received a note from the jury asking to view original & enhanced version of the shooting video three times.

Jury asks to watch the videos 3 times each.…the ones at different speeds and contrasts, and the 911 call by GM. Lawyers and judge discussing this.

Judge will ask jurors for clarification on videos.

Looking at self defense claim (ugh) or just wanting to review the whole scenario of the killing? 3x each video ... sounds like they're being thorough, anyway.

I am in the 'ugh" along with you--with respect to self defense

Good morning! The #AhmaudArbery shooting case jury is asking to see a video, a deputy says. We don't know which one yet. They have to come back into the courtroom to watch. Deliberations started at 8:36 AM.

Frank HogueDownwards arrowbriefly spoke w/reporters in the gallery, saying he always advises clients you can't infer very much from the length of deliberations: “The only inference you can draw from it now is someone’s arguing for you & someone’s arguing against you.”

The #AhmaudArbery shooting case jury's note: "We request to see the following videos 3 times each: Original video short version, enhanced high-contrast version, & the 911 call on 2.23 by Greg McMichael."

Now in court as the judge clarifies what they want to see, the jury forewoman says they don't want the half-speed version. He says the 911 call is about 5 minutes long, so raise your hand when the part you wanted to hear is done.

They've played the first video three times.

Then, the enhanced video is playing. This one has no sound. Now, the 911 call.

The jury stopped the 911 call right after Greg McMichael yelled, "Travis!" They only wanted to hear it once. Now, they're going back into the jury room.

Three jurors sat in the jury box to review the evidence. The rest sat in the gallery, where there's another screen against the wall. Greg McMichael watches the jurors file out. Judge Walmsley reminds everyone he'd like them available on 10-minute call.

Not that I believe they are not guilty, but I think they are going to find them not guilty. The 911 call with GM yelling stop I think the jury will say that was a warning to AA after that self defense kicks in . ( shaking head)

I thought the call helped the prosecution: GM yelling STOP- he is not the police-- who the hell is he to yell stop to a citizen running down the street? GM says there is a black man running-- he does not say there is a black man running committing a crime, stealing or any other criminal act---he does not say he is making a citizen''s arrest-

Did he say what he was pointing at then? Is he denying pointing for their benefit as a way to cover his own behind?

Cause it sounds like he was pointing in the direction that Ahmaud ran, right? I wonder if the defendants can claim (or if the jury can believe) they thought he was signaling them and it would count still, since there is so much they are allowed to assume about the intent of others in this case.

It's all on video to see. He indeeds points, but the McMichael truck was already going away from him.

Where is everyone watching what's going on in the courtroom this morning? Is 11 Alive streaming it?

Yes. You can backup the video if you want to see what happened earlier.

I am watching their link for the verdict watch. they show the exterior of the courthouse but cut into the courtroom if something occurs (like the jury's request to watch videos and hear the 911 call again)
