Why would a friend, CH, do so much damage to his friend’s face?

If he had already stabbed him in the face multiple times, why turn around and shoot him in the face too? Why not shoot him in the heart?

Attacking DM in the face seems very odd to me. But more importantly, it makes me think of Russell Dermond and his missing head.

CH didn't buy the house until more than four years after the Dermonds were killed. Does he have any other connection to the area? It would be interesting to know where the "windfall" came from.

I read they vacationed at Reynolds for 10 years. Will look for link.

Also CH made money from “investments” - that was either in AJC or Ocala.com... links posted previously.

Yes, it was very personal. So, these two men were having a guys weekend, with lots of alcohol. An ugly fight ensued...

JMO— if you shoot someone in the face I would assume the person usually dies.

And if you’re dead you can’t talk...

Hello all!
I was on this thread in 2014 as OTPTarheel and now I’m OTPTarheel2018 due to an email account I can no longer access.

My hinky meter went off watching the news last week with the “home invasion at Lake Oconee”.
o_O

I believe their was an Ohio connection to the D family. Will look.

This needs to be solved.
I remember you tarheel……….welcome back, please find a connection! I don't remember an ohio connection with the D's, please share

Interesting the bludgeoning of this MD and also SD
THe gunshot of MD head and possible Gunshot to RD head

not to mention other similarities!

across lake from D's
greene county
SD found in Greene co
Florida connectinos
CH forensic cleaning business in FL

what else!? IDK...….just really really weird, waiting on more info on this Haufler/Dimos crime

I don't see a connection with Dimos yet since they all just met last year
but both avid hunters though
MD made CH a homemade knife
CH and family been going to Oconnee for 10 years

the "personal attack" of 'friend'.....seemingly so unfeeling about it all

IDK, just so coincidental it seems...….how could there be a connection?

The Ds lived in the same subdivision as a family member of mine, before moving to Lake Oconee. My family members didn’t know them but I’ve driven by their old house for years. The D murders freaked me out as I had an elderly mother living alone in N.C. until shortly before the Ds were murdered.

I looked up the D Restaurant company name- there were many variations for different franchises they owned. I googled the company name + lawsuits. I found a lawsuit in Cobb County, which I can’t find now. A man, former employee was suing for wrongful termination... I’m gonna see if I kept my notes from 2014.
Yes, it would be a long time to hold a grudge but...

Will look for notes.

There may be no connection whatesoever...but quiet Reynolds at Lake Oconee has had some incredibly tragic deaths there.

If I show up missing, show Sheriff Sills this post.

I'd like to know more about the wrongful termination lawsuit. Hatred isn't a wound a wound heals with time hatred lingers for life sometimes.

Hatred for termination from a job - isn’t that what got the wealthy DC family and housekeeper murdered?

In fact, the guy accused of murdering them, Wint, has been in jail from right after the murders happened and his trial started this week. Wint had at one time been employed by the husband’s company, was fired, and carried the anger / hatred for a number of years.

And that is the key, what did CH want to keep MD from talking about??

Perhaps CH was afraid with the illness DM had, as it progressed, DM would unconsciously tell something.

But they only met 10 months ago said CH’s wife...

Some people can hold a grudge for a very long time, but I just don’t feel that is the case, here.

IMHO

I know they had many many employees but it's also a business where people steal, get fired, file lawsuits etc. He owned a business where a criminal record wouldn't hinder someone from being hired. Is it possible someone who worked for the Dermonds held a grudge ( for a very long time) ? Just a shot in the dark but an ex employee could have held a grudge while possibly in jail for an unrelated crime

on the JBR thread......this is interesting, and telling....in many cases...

Actions speak louder than words (and they have said plenty of questionable stuff, not to mention flat out lies). But I ask- Why not answer police questions? Why not turn over any type of evidence (medical records, phone records, clothes, etc.) immediately that could solve this case? Why keep changing your story? Why not use those riches to hire a million people to test, search and scour for this killer? I think we all know why, but many people are just in denial...

Good morning all!

My apologies if this article and video from Channel 11 have been posted. From May this year- 4 year anniversary.

Don’t believe I ever saw this detailed video of RD in Publix. Those cameras are quite good. About halfway through RW talks to someone in an aisle, continues on, then leaves his cart and goes back to man...it’s the third video I think.

Have you all seen/discussed this? If so, tell me what thread and I’ll go back and read.

Mr. Dermond appeared in pretty good health in this video and more spritely than I imagined. I suspect he could be fiesty and I can't help but think he'd put up a heck of a fight.
