It starts in the Sun, then the Mail picks it up, from which one supposes it's on the news wires and editors chose whether to use it or no.

I think it's mostly that the journalist needs to justify his time out in germany on the case in order to sell stories to Daily Mail etc so he has to come up with something

The most important question to be asked is why did she not report it, where did she go after one presumes after being released by CB.Wasn't there a pregnant runaway who returned, same girl?

The villa, which is understood to have never been searched by police, was rented between 2002 and 2009 by a German woman called Nicole who is said to have used it for a rehabilitation programme for troubled teenagers.

Along with the elderly woman.

We've covered this before so short version - If the name was suppressed we would see that e.g. Girl X. The victim is stated as unidentified.
