What gen are the Parkland kids I don't know because I am from the dead generation!

Post-Millennials or Generation Z, but there are some other names referring to technology like IGen. They've been raised mostly by Generation X.

Whew they saved their money AND did not get their brains splattered on the floor.

Lolol. No worries, I’m the obese, tooth decaying generation apparently. They are gen Z.

Blue my dear

you know the limits my brain has!

Are the Parkland kids not millennials!

you must keep it simple !!

Sorry dear!

Millennials are born 80s to 2000 (roughly). Parkland generation is the next one, born after 2000.

Call me a patriot. I love my country.

I don't get the United States bashing here. My hands are getting numb from sitting on them.

Mutilated by me:

This very tiny percentage of the world (me) doesn't laugh at you. Aghast is what I feel.

No contest, your honor.

The majority of us are aghast at ourselves too!!

Its flat out insanity - the notion that there is a huge argument about if as a society we should be trying to do something after kids all diced up

Arming teachers to me is the same thing as going to a dentist for a heart transplant -- that is dumber than the initial issue!

Along with bashing women who defend themselves from gun wielding miscreants.

Approxmiate ages:
Baby Boomers: after World War II, @late 1940’s - early/mid 1960’s

Generation X: mid 1960’s to late 1970’s

Millenials: early 1980’s to early 2000’s

Generation Z: eary 2000’s - current (range from @ ages 2 to 19 now)

I love my country, too, and have no desire to live anywhere else. however, as I age I am becoming more aware of the societal problems and wishing my grandchildren could have the freedoms I had —- knowing full well that can no longer be the norm. To know they go to school with such worries as the children of today have, fear of shooters, armed guards everywhere, political discords abounding, less family time, etc., it just hurts me deeply.

I don’t pretend to have the answers, and wish we could come up with suggestions that could “meet in the middle” somehow. Ways to make life safer for everyone, everywhere. It is so very difficult to have this sort of discussion without people feeling they are under attack. I wish the tone of voice would come through the written words, as often I think we (in general) are misunderstanding each other’s intentions.

thanks for trying and for sharing!

No, no they wouldn't. Nobody from the Westernised world wants your gun culture or stupidly high number of shooting sprees, thanks. Nobody from the UK, Canada, Australia or New Zealand envies your right to bear arms, we feel genuinely sorry for the millions of decent Americans caught in this horrible situation and watch sadly from afar, wondering when you will wake up and smell the coffee.

You know from what you speak! I only learned it slowly from european reporting.

Understandably the way they say it you can tell they think were nutsola with all this violence as you all calmly walk around in public not wondering if your gonna be diced in the next minute,

That is just common sense!!

Some of you talk as if there are no mass shootings in Europe, supposedly due to strict gun control. Well that’s simply not the case. Wake up.

Countries such as France may have made all semi-automatic guns illegal, but that hasn’t stopped killers from getting fully automatic machine guns to use in mass shooting attacks. All four of the 2015 mass public shooting in France involved machine guns, including the 130 people killed in November of that year in multiple attacks including one at a concert venue.

In the 1970s, 80s and 90s, Europe saw machine gun attacks in airports and nightclubs by groups such as Black September and the Red Army Faction. In fact, machine guns are commonly used in mass shootings in the rest of the world.

I'd like to see statistics about people immigrating to the US with firearm ownership as a given reason. If anyone knows where to find that information or is a good researcher?
I looked but couldn't find anything relevant.
Thanks in advance.

Yes we do.

And Oregon just passed a bill to ban convicted domestic abusers (regardless of relationship to the victim, closing the "boyfriend loophole") and stalkers from buying or owning guns.

I guess I should have said citizens..and members of online groups...do not get to choose who has a gun and who doesn't. I understand that there are exceptions.

Respectfully flourish, that might not be a good reason to give if a person wanted to be accepted into the US ;) Talk about a red flag. I don't think we'll be able to find those statistics.
