This is Ana's interview from Serbia, regarding her daughter's request for her to come to Washington DC the next day.

My question is this: She tells Ana it would be more logical for her to come at the beginning of January.
Ana says something like "Brian and I have plans for February"

What plans could they have had, if he is under house arrest?

That may have been a cover? Maybe she wanted her Mother to be told any of her concerns in person. It could have also been to make BW think she was still making plans for them.

Maybe, but the old cliché is as true as it’s always been - money cannot, and does not, buy happiness.
Money is cement; love is glue.

I have a family member who has worked in psychiatric hospitals for nearly 3 decades. In my experience this is exactly right, if a patient is not a threat to themselves or others they are processed out of the hospital quickly. There is an exception for some for-profit private psychiatric facilities where you can stay as long as you want if you or your family keep paying the bills. Maybe a family member bankrolled that to keep him out of trouble for a time.
... or he was considered a danger to himself or others.

I didn't know he made an appointment for car wash/detailing service but didn't show.

* Across two owned properties that we know about (Washington, DC and Baltimore) $500K in equity.
* IRA in her name with at least $91K that was transferred form Brian when he was trying to hide assets from the court, plus another ~ $24K in cash transferred to Ana or used for her benefit outside the IRA
* a 2015 Maserati (initial purchase price $120K) and a 2014 Fiat
* edit to add: from her Instagram, it might be concluded there is a substantial amount in high value hand bags, shoes, jewelry. Maybe $100K?

Most of the current home equity was created with the flip of the Jerusalem Road house ($585K before taxes, fees and expenses). It does seem like Ana owned properties sequentially, so I get the sense there is not hundreds of thousands of dollars in net worth held elsewhere in cash or securities. We know Brian got ~$500K from his mom to pay for his legal defense in the art scheme. Not sure where the reported $1mm plundered from his dad's estate went...
I believe in the court documents, another doctor wrote a letter stating that BW had stolen from his father prior to death, and wanted no further contact with his son.

No word about the Volvo forensics yet.
Maybe that will come out once they've also examined the material and blood found at the garbage transfer facility.

At a major PC, after he's charged with murder hopefully.

I really do not believe we have any factual information about this.
She was divorced from Brian's father since he was 8 years old.
We really do not know anything about her financial standing, do we?
If you go to the court records shared by @Gardenista, several affidavits there state that Brian had to use his mother’s wealth to pay for various expenses. For one example, open the court document titled “Affidavit of Fred Pescatore”

Follow @Gardenista step by step instructions: For interesting reading go to masscourts.org. Go thru the Captcha. Select Family & Probate and Plymouth County. Search Brian Walshe.

Also, here is a different snip from the document titled “Affidavit of Fred Pescatore” that comes up in the BW court records search results :

And this is just one of MANY court documents I’ve found referencing this type of behavior from Brian - angry, physically violent, sociopathic.

I highly encourage anyone interested in this case to explore these public court records for further perspective into BW…

I'm so confused about these different home's. Didn't his Mom pay the 5k monthly rent at the house ?
The apartment looks high end according to the listing. It seems like Mom has an endless supply of money.

Thank You!
I live downtown DC but her place is in Tenley where I coach soccer at Ft. Reno. There are three highly regarded DCPS schools there, a grammar, a middle and Jackson-Reed HS (formerly Wilson HS). It is a well off areas for DC but not too high end. It ids a safer neighborhood though. That is late 1990's build by the late Barrett Linde, one of DC most prolific colonial based townhouse developers active in 1970-s through early 2000s. A lot of what you are paying for there is that you are very close to red line metro which takes you down to K in a straight shot, and quality of public schools. There is a Whole Foods right there too. Basic commercial and residential real estate management account execs make very little money. But office operatons manager of a large prestige firm like that probably makes $100 to $200k.

TRANSCRIPTION OF INTERVIEW WITH FAMILY FRIEND

10TH JANUARY.

Reporter - ...now this friend asked to remain anonymous.

Friend - I was probably as close to the inner dynamics of that family as anyone.

Reporter - This man says he first met Brian Walshe when he was 6 yrs. old. A close friend of his father's, Thomas Walshe, he describes Brian as well behaved and entitled.

Friend - Brian was not like other young people. He was always dressed in Armani and penny loafers, when he was like 13. I never saw him in dungarees. He just wanted the finest things in life.

Reporter - Brian is now behind bars accused of misleading the investigation into the disappearance of his wife Ana and his friend says, Brian's manipulate behavior started with a falling out with his father over money. He said the two did not speak for over a decade.

Friend - This is a kid who never gave his father an ounce of teenage angst. He didn't smoke, he didn't drink, he didn't do drugs. He was very close and he was very respectful to his father. He was charming and when he did this, it like stabbed his dad in the heart.

Reporter - Brian's father, the former Head of Neurology at Brigham Women's Hospital, died in 2018. According to court documents, Thomas Walshe cut his son out of the will. Then Brian is accused of destroying the will, appointing himself the personal representative of the estate and liquidating over $100,00 from bank accounts in the name of Thomas Walshe.

Friend - There was indeed a will and there were specified inheritors and Brian was not one of them.

Reporter - In 2021, Brian was convicted of fraud for stealing a friend's Andi Warhol paintings and selling them, as well as fake versions of them. Despite this history this man said he's still perplexed by Ana Walshe's disappearance

Friend - He was not trustworthy. He did things that were shameful and horrible to someone he really cared about, but I never saw him raise his voice.

I wonder when the family friend last saw Brian.

Why were they renting?

Was there anything in the fraud charges that required him to liquidate his assets?
ETA They sold their home on Jerusalem Rd for 1.38 million on March 17th and bought the townhouse in DC for 1.3 million on March 18th. It appears they sold their home in Cohasset to fund the home in DC. And then started renting the home on Chief Justice General Cushing on March 11th.

Ya, the $1M @Bob Loblah mentioned is the money stolen from his father, according to the court documents that @Gardenista originally shared earlier. You should check them out, they are a treasure trove.

Why were they renting?

My theory is that Ana, in whose sole name all the assets were titled, decided she was gradually going to move to DC. First she took the job there (Feb '22) then, when she sold the Jerusalem Rd house (March maybe?), she took the net proceeds and put them towards the expensive DC house. The DC house house now had most of the net proceeds from the Jerusalem Rd house and a $910K mortgage. Simply put, they could not buy another house, so they rented. And it's been said that his mom paid, or helped to pay, the rent.

edit to add: Ana sold one or more other MA properties and did not reinvest there. The only other property she kept was in Baltimore.
