Agree this is very common and very human. Imo there is an element of misplaced guilty feelings, probably for things that happened in the relationship in the past. JmoVery often when you lose a loved one you tend to blame yourself for things you potentially could have done or shouldn’t have done to keep the person alive . It’s a natural reaction to the trauma.
