Adrian — Dee Warner was declared legally dead, and her husband was eventually charged with her murder. The only thing missing was Dee Warner.

Police looked for her for three years, using cadaver dogs, ground-penetrating radar and forensic excavations.

The search ended in 2024 in a storage building on a Warner farm in Tipton in northern Lenawee County. Her body was inside a fertilizer tank that was cut open and resealed.

Her husband, Dale Warner, goes on trial Tuesday in Lenawee Circuit Court in Adrian. Charged with murder and tampering with evidence, he is facing life in prison. The trial is expected to last nine weeks, with the next two weeks focused on jury selection...

Dale Warner, the man accused of killing his wife in Lenawee County, declined a plea deal Tuesday ahead of jury selection.

The prosecutor said in court that the plea deal of second-degree murder and tampering with evidence was offered after discussions with Dee Warner's family.

The denial of the plea deal by Dale, 57, who was present in court on Tuesday, means the case will go to trial as jury selection got underway at Lenawee County Circuit Court.

May he come to regret rejecting that plea deal.

May he enjoy LWOP instead. To bad he won't have to serve it in a septic tank.

I wouldn’t mind a septic tank, either.

The fertilizer tank in which Dee Ann was finally found is like a propane tank—above ground.

Iirc, the husband cut open an unused tank, put a deceased Dee Ann inside, welded it closed, repainted (?) it, put a warning on it that it couldn’t be used for transporting fertilizer, and stored it in a shed with his other fertilizer tanks.

Oh, I guess I should say he allegedly did all that.

As if anyone else would have the means, motive, and opportunity to do so.
