I find it a bit ironic that the same reasoning that says church members should sue protestors and the DOJ should prosecute them, could also say that temple members in Jesus's day should sue him for overturning the temple tables and chairs, and that the Romans should prosecute him for it.

I think maybe you misunderstand the story of Jesus in the Temple and particularly WHY he overturned the tables and ran off the venders. I think in this case, had Jesus been present, he likewise would have run off the protesters in the same manner. But I don't think it the place for a religious discussion.

Here is Ann Doucette's complaint. She filed it herself.

Complaint for Damages
She should have gotten a lawyer.

It reads like it's attempting to show criminal intent by emphasizing the alleged preplanning and the alleged satisfaction on Don Lemon's face.

The only civil expense she specified was legal fees. (And she filed herself, lol.) I imagine only a very bored lawyer or one very philosophically opposed to free speech will take this case, because the are not taking this case for the money.

I was thinking she might at least be the person who broke her arm, but I would think if that parishioner (if they are real) would have the civil lawsuit problem of the suit morphing to being against their own church.

Where are her expenses?

In my opinion, she just wanted to attempt to bolster the criminal charges.

The Defendants will move to dismiss since the jurisdictional requirements are not met for federal court. The Court will give her a chance to amend it. She maybe can, but she will have to dismiss some of the defendants first or change/better specify the causes of the action.

Just like in the recently dismissed (nationally known) GJ cases? There's a reason the statement that GJs indict a ham sandwich grew legs.

Such as? There have been several cases where a grand jury did not indict.

Not a lot of meat on that bone. JMO

IMO she will have a difficult time proving damages. But she, just like everyone of us, has the right to try through the civil court to do just that.

Lemon and Fort filed a motion to expedite hearing their motion to get the grand jury transcripts.

CONCLUSION

Accordingly, Mr. Lemon and Ms. Fort respectfully move this Court for an order setting an expedited briefing schedule on their pending Joint Motion for Disclosure of Grand Jury Proceedings. Specifically, Mr. Lemon and Ms. Fort request that the Court order the government’s response to the Grand Jury Motion be due within 14 days of the Court deciding this motion, and Mr. Lemon and Ms. Fort’s reply, if any, be due within seven days of the government’s response.

Two very well known cases coming out of Virginia. The people are irrelevant to this thread, so I won't mention their names. What is relevant is that GJ indictment is nowhere near even close to a slam dunk case. At all. I am eagerly awaiting DL's request for GJ transcripts.

I do not know of any. I know of several where the grand jury declined to indict.

IMO.

I have read enough fiction.

Cite it or it didn't happen.

Are you going to pretend that there was no GJ indictment in these cases? I will cite it so that others reading here will see just what a nothingburger a GJ indictment may be, especially if things aren't on the up-and-up. You'll notice attempts at re-indictment were unsuccessful.

The case was dismissed without prejudice based on an improper appointment of the prosecutor. It had nothing to do with the merits of the case.
