In my opinion that's the worst thing she can convey. She's playing to the perp? Article says she will return at some point bla bla. Gives a stalker-type hope. I will see her againI On the outside chance NG is still alive and being held in a seasonal cottage somewhere with little traffic and diminished population due to it being winter, for example, he will hold on to NG. Even if NG has passed, he can look forward to daily communion with SG.

Article about SG stopping in to NBC and saying she will be back eventually was not newsworthy. However, it was information to perp about where she is at the moment. I think that was foolish. JMO

No, I got this from forming an opinion of his personality and concluding that like, say, Dennis Rader, David Berkowitz, or Theodore Kaczynski, he enjoys feeling superior to law enforcement, probably gloating that he's "so much smarter than them." But as I said, that is my ASSUMPTION. You don't have to agree with me.

My point was that everything we know, factually, about the perpetrator is in that video clip. Everything else is just assumption. You’re entitled to your opinion, of course… but it seems like a hyperspecific theory, for so little factual information.

I wonder if the security around SG and her close family is enough. Are they trying to be stealth enough to detect out of character fans.

I would think most fans are genuinely friendly and mean no harm but then there’s the creepy ones, over zealous, dangerous, etc. It’s not like they can put anyone other than SG out there as a target to draw out the perp. Almost like it’s a calculated risk. They don’t let anyone near her, of course but they watch the cameras in the area to see if anyone peaks their interest.

Real estate agents keep a list of all their showings? So there would be names, time, dates of NG home showings when it was up for sale?
Do we know why she took it off the market?

Ok. I am 100% behind the entire Guthrie family. I have always been. I never thought they were POI etc. The world isnt poised to see if and when she comes back to NBC. There's a perp on the loose. At its core this is a family tragedy.

That being said, Why is this news? Why is this publicized? Why let the perp know where SG is? Trying to see if the perp followed her to NY? The perp is a dangerous person. Ask yourself what is to be gained by making SG's visit to NBC a publicity moment? NOT being critical. I am wondering about motivation. If there is any. There's nothing newsworthy in what was revealed. IMO JMO

Maybe they feel the publicity will help to draw him out somehow? Perhaps with more communication from him?

I’m not saying anything new, obviously, but it’s just so discouraging that nothing much is known yet.

Here we have thousands upon thousands of posts, so many of us have spent a month in conjecture and speculation, but we know nothing more than we did when the video at the porch came out.

I hope that as often happens in cases, LE has much more info that isn’t being released.

I think IGG would be the only way at this point, but so far the DNA hasn’t appeared to be very viable.

I’ve seen the articles about Savannah coming back to NY and possibly resuming her career.

IMO she and her siblings have to do what is right for them at this juncture.

Savannah, Annie and Camron are a nuclear family with Nancy, but they also have nuclear families with spouses and children.

Personally I’d like to see Savannah return to Today, but she will be forever changed. We all know this isn’t just the death of a parent, but an unresolved horror. With no answers, this will never really end.

Naturally I hope NG will ultimately be found, one way or the other, and the culprit(s) will be caught and imprisoned, but so far it seems the closure may never come.

I agree. Every day that goes by with no arrest, no body, etc., tells us that this man has some experience or is quite sophisticated. It cannot all be luck.

He doesnt have to have had other criminal activity to be sophisticated. He chose garments that concealed him well and avoided the shedding of DNA. He is a person who pays meticulous attention to detail. He plans. He isnt some street who takes chances getting his illegal drugs, for example. His raid on the Guthrie home was precise and targeted and it was mission accomplished. He's a quiet over achiever or even an academic, perhaps. Deep thinker for sure. He is not a high school drop out with a comorbidity like drug abuse. JMO

This is a good point. In my town a number of recent burglaries were of houses recently listed for sale. They may have attended open houses or figured out the layout from the photos.

I think the doorbell video has missing parts. I wonder if anyone is seen exiting the home. I find it doubtful that she was taken out the front door. Maybe she tried to run? I can’t explain the blood drops at the front door. Just my opinion.

New member here with a motive theory. Nancy had flood lights in her yard and connected to her house - some were destroyed, possibly the one by her door was destroyed by the perp. Destroyed flood light was referenced in the ransom message (the ransom message was likely a ruse to confuse the investigation but could have been sent by the perp) Where Nancy lived there is an ordinance that controls lighting to ensure the area is dark for nighttime viewing of stars/landscape, etc. There are strict rules for compliance but if someone is not compliant, law enforcement will not get involved - it becomes a civil matter which makes disputes very hard to resolve. Could it be that the lighting around her home was disturbing someone in the area? Disputes over such issues can blow up. If you google flood lighting and murders - you'll see that such disputes have resulted in murder.

Perhaps Nancy, a very nice/lovely person, had been confronted by someone over her flood lighting and she stood her ground. I do not know if her lighting was such that it would cause issues, maybe this should be looked into?

Just observed and read this CBS article stating that they arrested someone earlier today that perhaps murdered 3 women, one of them in their 80’s.
No idea if this is relevant to the NG case. Certainly local Tucson Law Enforcement is aware of these crimes.
The Utah investigators traced the suspect through Arizona, Colorado and Utah.

It really is utter nonsense isn't it? Lifelong non-criminals - even some prior FBI agents - insisting they are the authority on what is or is not criminal chic, and presenting theories to the world derived whole cloth from their purely aesthetic biases and/or fantasies of what an 'actual criminal' looks like or would wear.

He could've shown up on the porch donning a Hamburglar costume and still no one could deny that this crime was executed with a high degree of precision and 'better than most' sophistication.

I've always been concerned that the assumptions drawn from all of these ex-law enforcement types were the same instinctive inferences drawn by current law enforcement. If so, the belief that this criminal or these criminals isn't/aren't sophisticated is probably why no one has been caught yet.

They caught the suspect it was a young white guy.
