Did she have a walker? A lot more room going in through the garage?
In at least one photo with Savannah I have seen her holding a cane. In the first days of this case, it was said she probably couldn't walk more than 50 yards on her own. 50 yards = 150 feet. 150 would be the width of a lot size on a larger home with many homes having a lot width of around 50 feet. It's easier for me to try to imagine distance in that way when thinking of the distance she could walk, probably with her cane, without assistance.

I can't say that I blame them:

<snipped>

On Saturday, Feb. 7, investigative reporter Jonathan Lee Riches, said that there was a security guard outside of Annie and Tommaso's home.

Security Guard Hired by Annie Guthrie and Tommaso Cioni During Search for Nancy Guthrie

My theory. Speculation only.

Persons close to Nancy Guthrie who were in dire financial difficulties concocted a hare-brained and desperate plan to hire pro criminals to kidnap her, forcing a wealthy relative to pay the ransom.

They were assured the old lady would be treated well and merely spend a couple of days watching TV in Mexico until the ransom was paid.

Instead, the kidnappers botched the job and Nancy lost her life during the abduction.

The kidnappers continue to issue demands, despite no longer having her alive, and the people who hired them are left holding the bag.

Nancy will likely never be seen or found

Why would NG enter her home via the garage and not the front door? This has been bothering me. The entire garage situation is bothering g me.
Because you can pull right up to the garage door. She gets out, walks on a completely flat, wide surface the length of the garage to the inside door.

The front door is a longer walk on a sidewalk that isn't near as wide as the garage space.

It's actually safer. :)

The front door entry does have a tiled small step up.

I’ve noticed many of those western homes set on slabs have no steps at all in the garage which must be great!

All imo

So I chat gtped it because it was bothering me, I'd seen it on a Blood Spatter documentary. I thought it looked like an impact splatter.
Ill just copy this small part down, but :
Mist/fine splatter, The cluster of fine, dark spots in the upper right quadrant is characteristic of impact splatter, , finer misted patterns, often caused by forceful or mechanical action.
The V shape could be where there is an arm stopping the blood from attaching to the floor, hence why it is thicker at one end and thinner at the "Hand" end.
Just a thought.

Had a thought…

IF the ransomer made the family say the “talk to her, you’ll see” line, they are immediately in a different category for me. As others have said, the goal may be the attention, or sick thrill. BUT… what if that is it, what if they don’t really even want BTC and just used someone else’s wallet in their demand?

Any thoughts on why the second communication didn't go to TMZ and the NBC local affiliate, it only went to KOLD?

Yes, seeing the actual photo of the smashed flood light is alarming. It was hit so hard with an object the brick is even damaged. When there were initial reports of a broken flood light, I was picturing just a non-working light or maybe a broken light lens or cover. Not completely smashed in like that. Clearly intentional and not an accident.

Exactly, myself too. 😔

Just a side note, but the “eagle eyed churchgoer” and their timely phone call have been left out of the official timeline.

JMO but I think it’s significant that such a significant event is not included. 🧐
Sorry, could you clarify what you mean by the official timeline? I still see plenty of MSM articles and timelines with this included so I think I missed something. Thank you!

The flood lights being destroyed is interesting. I’m guessing they’re asking if anyone close to Nancy knew about that. If it was damaged before she went missing - the person close to her may have also known about that (in the family) beforehand or they caught it via the media although the media, I don’t think, ever picked up on it and reported about it. Would someone actually damage them before they went in and kidnapped her. I doubt anyone went up on the roof at 2am and smashed them. Let’s say the SIL was involved, maybe someone did all this when she was away for a few hours that day. I guess flood lights would help a camera see them. It doesn’t sound like the doorbell detected that someone was at the residence before 2am. Then again, you never know.

They could end up arresting someone and never get to the bottom of who was sending the ransom letters. We may end up with suspicions that the person who did it was also behind them but we never get any hard evidence. I swear if the SIL and daughter are behind this, oh, boy… The media will have a field day looking into these two.
Re: the doorbell detecting someone before 2am, LE has reported around 945pm the garage door opened for 2 minutes and then closed. They don't tell us anything prior to that. My understanding was that the doorbell cam wrote over itself after a certain period of time because she didn't have a subscription? So they only have a certain number of hours data available.

Probably walked to get her mail

Wasn’t that verified by LE though? I thought it was.
LE mentioned someone from church in the first press conference (and probably in the first slew of articles in which the sheriff was quoted). There has been at least one media report, however, that said NG did not go to church in person since Covid. In the most recent press conference, LE did not include info or a timestamp about the church member calling in their timeline. On top of that, many things LE said in the beginning have since changed. So, honestly, it’s not clear cut and is a source of speculation for many.

Sorry, I did see the one set of lights were damaged/smashed, but didn’t know if all outdoor lights were? Or indoor cameras? The doorbell camera was battery operated and removed, what camera detected moved after that was removed?
Typo- what camera detected motion after the doorbell camera was removed?

I believe she did have a walker, correct me if I'm wrong.

Yes I've seen a few people that bothered. It's definitely not just you.

It doesn't bother me because I can think of a few scenarios where it could be normal, eg mom wants to arrive before SIL gets home, AG has already had a couple glass of wine. Or AG also doesn't like driving at night. SIL only gets home just before NG is leaving so offers to go e her a ride.

But I also can't think of a reason why it would be suspicious. Maybe not very generous at worst, but (genuine question not rhetorical) how do you see it as potentially connected to the crime?
I don't know if it's true or not, but I've read that their homes were only ten minutes apart. I would think that if the card game were planned in advance, AG would have picked NG up. No matter how wealthy you are, Ubers are still expensive. I feel there may have been some tension between NG and either AG or SIL and NG might have taken the Uber to confront the other person. A lot of older people have difficulty seeing to drive at night. Perhaps the tension escalated from there?

What I was responding to was the post about how the call from the church member is not on the official LE timeline that was produced at the last press conference.

I’ve included this pic to show NG’s front door. IMO it’s much more work for her to negotiate those steps leading up to her door, especially considering she is said to walk with a cane. So, going through the garage makes sense, to me.

I'm starting to think that it wasn't a church-goer who called AG but the people who kidnapped NG.
Yes, me too. That whole aspect of the story is fishy to me. I STILL don’t know whether NG regularly attended services every Sunday, or not.

Ehhhh. She said herself “I’ve been at this for 38 years do you think I would throw it away for one story?”

She knows the stakes here. She is very much on an island right now, no one has joined her, and she has not budged over 3 days she continues to double down. If she’s right she deserves credit and if she’s wrong she deserved to get cooked and own it. It will be very damning to her reputation if she’s wrong, as it should be. The stakes are high and they should be, millions of people are paying attention to this. SIL would probably sue her too if he was never truly a suspect.
AB left her show at News Nation in January 2026 to focus on her podcast.
I was thinking that being independent she now has the freedom to report whatever she wants which is why she ran with the info about SIL.
When looking for a source for her departure it says she's still affiliated with NN which may make NN liable if she's sued. ?
imo
