I haven't heard that the family has hired any attorneys.

It would probably be a smart move to do that right about now, even if innocent.
Savannah is an attorney. Grad top of class Georgetown. She was NBC legal analyst, then White House correspondent before the Today Show.

It's really beyond me that they only now have several items send for testing.
If the house was processed thoroughly from day 1 they would have all the test results back by now - IMO
I would be extremely upset if LE handled my mom's disappearing this way.
Poor Nancy 😔
The glove(s) were just found yesterday 1.5 miles from NG home. They were to be immediately sent to either Quantico or Texas for dna testing.

I think that if it was intended as some symbolic gesture or as “insider knowledge” to prove that he’s the guy when communicating with LE or the family, he’d want to make sure that it was seen by leaving the camera there, connected to the system, rather than taking the effort he took to both disable the camera and later remove it entirely.

JMO

Do we know that he was the person that disabled/removed it? I honestly don't know.

JMO.

Source: Google maps and 40+ year Tucson resident.

The main roads around the area are Campbell, River, Skyline, First Avenue, and Orange Grove. Street lighting is very dim everywhere in Pima County. There are laws to protect optical astronomy.

Campbell would have been the closest road to exit the neighborhood from but depending on which way you were heading, you could exit on Camino Miraval to Skyline.

The thing is, all of these intersections have traffic cams. I have not been able to find a live or archive link for these cameras though. I'm sure the SO knows every car that went through those intersections in the early morning hours of 2/1
Helpful – thanks! It was full moon or thereabouts but I don’t know if it was a clear night. Still, probably not much chance of video footage of the suspect vehicle. We see the perp using a flashlight just to illuminate the front step.

New ideas:

1) Perp used the side of his fist to block camera because he was about to knock on the door when he noticed the camera, so he shifted his fist to quickly block it while he gathered his thoughts (something about the camera surprised him).

2) Perp didn't care that HE was on camera, but still needed it blocked/disabled. Why? To hide video of him leaving. Or video of someone else arriving.

Why hide video of him leaving? Because maybe he was leaving with a dead body that would undermine the kidnapping farce? Or there was some other aspect of the departure that he didn't want on camera?

So maybe he tried to cover it up with a plant, and when that failed, pulled the entire camera off.

Edit. Or he wanted it covered so that when he knocked, NG wouldn't see anything if she checked the camera.
Don’t overthink it too much. His motive for disabling the camera was concealment. Be that him alone, other people, NG.

If they KNOW this, then the guilty party would be pretty obvious presumably. Ransom notes would likely not be taken seriously. Random delivery men would not be detained. I don't know. IMO it feels like a stretch to think family was involved especially if they had the sort of information you are asking about.
If AG and SIL had hired help, then LE would have to prove their involvement and that may be the reason for delay ?
This seems like the main motive was for Nancy to be out of the picture, removed.
And the ransom notes are possibly not related, just a person trying to take advantage of an already distressing situation ?
Imo.

I was referring to this article which states;

"Gloves found at Guthrie's house are being sent out for testing, the Pima County Sheriff's Department said in a statement this afternoon.
The department said "several items of evidence" were found at the residence, but provided no details beyond the gloves.
The news comes after multiple reports that a nylon glove was found at the home."

I think there has to be two possibilities (unless I'm being too black and white) of entry/exit to NG's home (assuming that's where she last was - which is confirmed by both the PC Evidence Submission Portal below saying she was last seen "at her residence" and the criminal complaint against the ransom hoaxer), by CAR or by FOOT.

If by car - it sounds like they would be checking the intersection cameras w=you mention, if not expired, as well as neighborhood home cameras.

If by foot - why oh why have they not done a grid search yet?! To our knowledge. With dogs, etc.

I don't know any other possibility?!

I think they made a mistake by not establishing a task force early on. I think things would have went much smoother cooperation wise etc. We’ve seen that happen in many cases.
I would agree. I don’t think they realized in the very beginning how big this was going to be. Things quickly spiraled from there.

For my one spam post of this thread... I think we need to look into Harvey Levin, he knows too much and gets that TMZ viewership up.

I'm totally kidding, but seriously, this is starting to feel like we're playing real life Clue *face palm*

The latest ransom note
TMZ had said LE took the second ransom note more seriously because they referenced where the watch was in NG's home and it wasn't in a normal place one would guess.

It was in one of HL's earlier videos after it was received.
Right. So the second ransom note was definitely from the kidnappers and not a hoax. But it doesn't appear that LE took the note seriously since no payment was made to the bitcoin account. Since they don't seem close to an obvious breakthrough in the case, are they thinking they are dealing with a kidnapper and not a killer and therefore they have the luxury of time? I think there is a risk that the kidnapper doesn't even need to "kill" NG. He can simply abandon her wherever she is hidden away with no food and water and that will end up killing her. That is a real risk if this kidnapper decides to walk away frustrated. MOO.

IMO, not really a nightmare to prosecute.

If they have solid irrefutable evidence like the perpetrator(s) DNA at or near the crime scene, phone records, etc.

The prosecution will weigh the evidence they have and not introduce anything that is "iffy" as far as possible cross contamination, etc. It is very normal for investigations to go back to certain things once they start getting actionable leads. the fact that they didn't search every yard early one doesn't really matter.

Seeing hundreds of cases, again.. IF they have vert solid forensic evidence, this will probably prosecute pretty well.

JMO
Sometimes criminals get cocky & start bragging. If a person reported them, they would have to decide if the reward is worth it . . . depending how violent the criminal & potential consequences.

Seems incredibly unlikely IMO and I don’t see the point in hiring people to abscond with your mother or MIL. It complicates things for any sort of monetary gain. JMO.

It was apparently an error due to neighbor involvement. Then again, they are now asking for footage from the entire month, so I dunno what to think.
Are they asking
Newsmax is classified as a right-leaning, conservative, or right-wing media outlet, rather than a neutral, objective source.

I’m surprised it is allowed as a source here as it is banned on some other sites.

I listen to a lot of podcasts when I drive (I travel for work) and I hear commercials for Newsmax. Newsmax claims to be Donald Trump’s favorite news site.

JMO
Newsmax has been very much involved with allegations re 2020 election results. IMO, exercise caution in evaluating information from this source.

Agreed about the watch and phone data. For the pacemaker, it’s not so clear cut. More here.
Thank you for the link, I stand corrected. I was taking lost connection as it was regularly pinging, not that it was unable to connect when scheduled.

From the original Twitter post about the Ring camera footage, there was a general area highlighted of where the Ring camera was, but it was not specific in order to protect privacy. Based on the streets in the area that you could make out, I think it was just West of the Mountain 1st Avenue neighborhood in Tucson and north of Sugar Hill neighborhood (you can look up the original Twitter post, I didn't quote it here sorry).
I don't have NG's exact home address but this is a Google maps screenshot of the area where the Ring camera footage is stated to be TO NG's house.
Interestingly, less than a 19 minute drive which is relevant if you read the TMZ article explaining timing (which I was originally confused on), and it goes along N Campbell Ave which is where they reportedly found the gloves. EDIT: The other glove was apparently found on 1st Ave, which directly borders Mountain 1st Avenue (hence the name) neighborhood.
Obviously none of this is conclusive or exact. Just my speculation, but if I were LE I would pinpoint the home from the Ring camera and get a search warrant/search the block tbh.

Bumping (my own post... sorry) as relevant re: update on FBI and PC Sheriffs trying to question the man on the Ring camera video per @MassGuy's post.

See original post for:
1. screenshot map of likely location of that Ring camera route to NG's home
2. TMZ article (with video of that man)
3. location of gloves found which would match said route as well as where they are seeking camera footage now (or at least part of the route)

I also talk about how there may have been multiple people involved and there could have been a backpack "handoff" at some point given the Nest footage includes the man both with and without the backpack.

is it correct that kidnappers have not given proof of life, ever?
