IKR who would
I am regularly surprised by how people carry a weapon. Tucked in their waistband, in their pocket, etc. In my area, a teen was carrying a gun in his pocket and shot himself in the leg. So little common sense - or gun sense - in this world.

thank you for the response but i'm not referring to reward money...i'm talking about all of these 'tmz' letters, bitcoin asks, etc...SG pleading to the 'kidnappers' that the family is willing to 'pay'. has nothing to do with LE.

why hasn't the guthrie family chucked some money at...anything? i know the answer but i'm asking...if it was your loved one and you were worth millions, wouldn't you throw a few into an account, however fake, to see what transpired?

everything covered here in over 2,000 pages (and on the news) says that once money starts moving, bitcoin etc. gets easier to track. so why not do anything and everything to 'move mountains' to find your loved one?
SG and sibs are likely following the recommendations of LE and perhaps they were advised against providing ransom money. IMO

What is your reasoning behind saying the perp on the Ring camera murdered her and took away her body? Motive?
They didnt remove her body because it wasn't at the premises to be removed, lantana man was merely a perpetrator setting up the scene to look like the primary crime scene after she was harmed elsewhere.

But who benefits from a missing person? No inheritance for 5 years when she might be presumed dead.

White tent at Guthrie's home used to create nighttime testing conditions, source says

From CNN's Josh Campbell
A white tent erected by federal agents at the home of Nancy Guthrie on Thursday was part of a testing procedure to create nighttime conditions similar to the time of day the 84-year-old went missing, a law enforcement source familiar told CNN.

Once FBI specialists set up the tent to create a blackout environment, replica clothing and a backpack similar to what the suspect was believed to be wearing were examined through the lens of what a doorbell camera might see at night, the source said.

The source said examiners looked at the reflections of lighting against the items to ensure they were confident in their brand names.

Also on Thursday, FBI examiners used specialized equipment to analyze the front of the home where the suspect was seen on video in order to determine his height, resulting in the FBI assessing him to be 5’9” to 5’10” tall.

Would roofers tend to use a small mouth flashlight? Or anyone associated with a roofing project? Or people installing outdoor roof cameras?
People working in small dark spaces such as plumbers or electricians might use a small mouth flashlight. MO

a websleuther determined the height about 200 pages ago so...way to go LE (eye roll).

possibly a stupid question but why hasn't the family thrown money into the 'ransom/bitcoin' ask? we know SG at least has the money. and she herself two/three videos ago said "we will pay"...so why not throw some spaghetti money on the wall and see what sticks?

another websleuther said we would all do ANYTHING to get our loved one saved/home/discovered. so why hasn't the guthrie family thrown so much as a dollar at bitcoin/offshore account?/anything these alleged kidnappers have asked for?

my answer - because these are bogus claims/distractions. curious as to what others think.
They are thinking rational...that the ransom letters are likely a scam... MOO.

Lots of people feel this is to get back at Samantha. What about getting back at someone else in the family?

Has anyone considered who may have benefitted from SG not covering the Olympics. She was scheduled to leave for Italy on February 2.

Yeah, there could be an innocent explaination for his behavior. Been there done that.

Planning to go through a gate but it's locked and needs to go another direction.

Video looks like it's from a business or apartment complex.
I bet he got a right freight today when he saw his face was all over the media!!

People keep asking that but don't seem to realise that the benefit in a missing person is that they can't change their inheritance or out someone for a fraud or other crime being committed.

Kidnapping for Ransom is the LEAST LIKELY answer to this. So many murders have been disguised as walk away disappearances or kidnapping over the years that its become almost 100% certain they are never genuine.

That is true. How can you prove a negative? That something didn't happen? When all of the energy is looking for something that happened? I was really surprised with the video of that guy.

She had her roof resurfaced or painted recently, IIRC
And had a camera installed by someone other than her on the roof according to Yahoo news, which I mentioned previously although I haven’t seen it mentioned anywhere else so I am not sure if it’s accurate.
If it is, though, it points to those who did her roof as being responsible for something shady- kidnapping or not!

Does the backpack match the one in the video 5 miles away that just came out?
Could a couple of guys decide to do some B&E's that night? Make a nice haul of cash, jewelry, drugs, valuables. Lantana Man screwed up his robbery site fast. Called his buddy for help.

Or maybe Lantana Man was acting by himself doing a B and E. Screwed up. Called up a nearby buddy for help.

sorry to you american folks but the FBI are coming across as idiots here!

putting up a tent to recreate nightime conditions??.....i aint Einstein but if they just waited a few hours mother nature would have created "nightime conditions" for them!!

not for the first time i am left wondering just what kind of clowns are being employed to run this investigation?

Every roof I have ever had installed and/or repaired the work was done in the day time. I assumed it was so they could see so as not hit their thumbs with a hammer or accidentally step off the edge. Likewise with the guys that installed our internet antenna..it was in the day time. I've never heard of any roof camera being installed at night but I guess in a time crunch, someone could put up lights and install something on a roof.
