Found Deceased NC - Clinton "Clint" Bonnell 50, Green Beret, Gray's Creek area, car at home in Fayetteville, 27 Jan 2025 *Arrest*

Why would LE wait a month to get a search warrant?

He’d been reported missing. One would think that a search at his home might be one of the first things.

It does seem that LE knows much more than we know.

MOO
There was probably no reason to get one, until now. We'll find out why when they're ready to release it.

3 separate police units came in, the search lasted less than 24 hrs. How does that compare to how most of these situations go down?

No update on the body found in the pond?

“Investigators would not confirm the two searches are connected. They said it could take a week before the body is identified because the state medical examiner’s officer is backed up with other cases.” - I copied this yesterday from a news article but don’t remember which one, the ones I just read just said, “it could be days.” But hopefully no longer than a week.

Looks like there might be part of a body floating out in the water,” the caller told a Cumberland County dispatcher at 3:30 p.m. Feb. 25. “I just got here just about 10 minutes ago, just looking around and seen it, and it looks like that’s what it is. I don’t know. I’m not sure."

The caller, who noted he owned the property and hadn't been there recently, said the body wasn't intact.

Horrible.

I wonder if whoever dumped the body was aware the owner hadn’t been around recently?

Upfront apologies: my post is graphic.

I find the pond dumping weird in this case, especially if you go the extra mile to dismember a body possibly to avoid rapid recognition and evidence destruction, so close to the residence of the victim. If it is Clint.
The only reason I see on why the body was not better concealed is that exposure to water and degradation therein removes DNA evidence a murderer could have unintentionally left on the body. It is the nearest body of water in that area so the opportunity is there but you must know the area.
Arms and hands probably have defence wounds and DNA under fingernails. But legs ?
Just trying to make sense of such an horrific violent crime.
I am puzzled by the motive of the murderer and if it is the MP, what happened and where.
Defensive dismemberment is not easy is and takes time, and leaves a lot of evidence if not premeditated.
Offensive dismemberment could be a possibility but is usually much more rare.

It would seem from the news video report linked below, the body was found here, and seems to be an easy access and hints that the person(s) may indeed have known that there was noone at the property. JMO

I had the same thought...IF this is the MP.
Dismemberment takes time and a suitable location/environment/tools etc... If you have time to do all that you may also have time to find a more secluded/remote place to dump the body parts in (even better if scattered in several spots). So I find weird the choice of a close by location.
I wonder if the dismemberment serves the purpose of ease of transportation too: moving between point A and point B with body parts in separate bags is probably less obvious and easier than moving around a whole body.

All MOO.

Did anyone else see them taping off the window to the garage in the drone video?

I agree it wasn’t the smartest, but it could have been convenient 🤷‍♀️
