Doubt it. Why?
I'm waiting for a timeline from someone more official. First of all, I doubt anyone was paying that much attention to Holbert's activities one way or the other. Others would have been playing pool, possible still doing karaoke, and hanging with their own chums. I doubt anyone looked at their watch to note exactly when Nick & Kelli left, nor looked again to determine how long Holbert had been gone. In my experience, when you're out for an evening to relax with friends and few brews, time isn't something you pay too much attention to, unless you're checking to see how long until last call.
VOH shared that the bar owner wasn't there, and was only going by what he'd been told happened that night when he made that statement to the press - meaning that the '10 minute' quote is third or fourth hand to begin with.
I do believe that Nick might have been back fairly quickly, but what seemed like 10 minutes to bar patrons focused on their own entertainment might have been quite a bit longer.
Here is the upside: LE has been interviewing the bar patrons, so I'm confident they have a much better handle on the timeline than we do. They've got Holbert's statements from investigation - and press - interviews. They have the time of the last ping from Kelli's phone. They have the time of the texts. They have statements from the bar guests. They may or may not have video from local area businesses.
I'm sure they are working hard to piece all of those things together to try to locate Kelli.[/quote
Well my reason would be the bad publicity of having someone leave my
establishment and disappear and have someone I know helping in the bar may be responsible.
I guess people feel differently about it but I can tell you I would never
enter that bar; ever!!!!!
