The Froggy Bottoms owner said Holbert lived in a tent behind the bar. Many witnesses saw the man leave the bar with Boredeaux the night she disappeared but he returned in "less than 10 minutes."

But adding this myself - he only knew what he was told because he wasn't there that night.

I really don't see it that she thought Nick was gay. He asked her if she was married, if she had answered yes, that means no. If she answered no, that means, yes. If she answers "its complicated" then it means maybe. Is how I see it. To her she might have just been answering a question. But to him....it might have made him think he had a chance, well obviously it did.

VOH, May I ask something, was she fun lovingly affectionate with her childhood friend. I don't mean intimate...I know you could not answer that. But I mean was she silly, and almost childlike around him. I have a childhood friend.....omg....we turn into immature kids when we get together. I think this may have been also what might have attracted Nick to her.

Yes, it was in MSM. I should have said IMO I believe it is unsubstantiated rumor.

I could be wrong.

I am not getting the correlation. Can you elaborate please? Is this the guy on the missing persons report?

Don't know who is on the MP report. My point was that maybe the Sargent who called MB on Monday a.m. was in Froggy's Friday evening and saw KB leave with Nick, and when she did not report for work on Monday knew something was wrong, maybe he had a bad "vibe" about something on Friday evening. He was as stated by MB a mutual friend...

Why is everyone hung up on the ten minutes. It was approx. 0120 hrs when they left right, even if he took a half hour and arrive ten minutes before closing time. Ten minutes or half an hour, you can still drive out, incapacitate someone, either toss them in your trunk or even drive back to your lovely lean to, stick them in it. Or you could leave them in the trunk and walk back up front to the bar. I am just saying, its not hard. How long does it take an officer to take down an offender. Less than one minute for sure, and that is if it takes long. Ten minutes it could be done in my eyes. IMHO

VOH
If you can, do you know if Kelli thought Nick was gay?
Well if she expected him to pick her up,drive her home, pay for all of her drinks and it was not a date I guess she thought he was an idiot. In fairness to her I really question whether he did or was suppose to pay for her tab.

VOH, can you tell me, that Friday night, did you leave first or did Nick?
If you did, can you tell me was his car in the lot when you left? Do you recall?

Can you please reiterate how far behind Froggy's was his lean to, from the map even with it being DOT land, it appears he essentially lived in the forest by the ramp leading onto the highway? Would it be a long walk to bar? Did Nick always bring his car to the bar? or did he just appear at times? Was the juke box on upon his return? Did you hear or see his car lights as he pulled in? How did he drive his car back to his lean to and yet no one ever saw him to know he was living back there? You did say no one knew that right?

It was printed in the media, but not LE stating it. It was ambiguous who was making the statement. I can find a link when I get home but I'm sure someone else can find it quicker, or you can google "holbert returned 10 minutes" and probably get it :)

Did find it... but the source was not one that I would rely on.

VOH,
When you say it was not a date, as you have in the past. You mean not a conventional date. No affection was shown, no holding of hands, no kissing, but they hung out the night together.

Can you tell me, what did you think it was? When he showed up with a woman? Obviously you did not consider it an everyday night at Froggy's. Or you would not have been shocked...lol. So what made it different....

Yes I know I am a pain in the MULE....lol

Didn't know if it was true. But, sounds to me like the patrons would know.

I do not believe NC does legal separations. The terms of separation are living apart for a certain amount of time and no sexual contact with each other, I believe it is 1 year.

When I divorced in NC, it was one year separation with no nights spent under the same roof. Proof was our word, only. No legal separation or paperwork needed. The judge actually asked "have you spent the night together under the same roof in the past 12 months?", or something like that. He didn't ask about sex, though.

Don't know if it's changed in 20 years.

Her plants might not have been watered or her cat fed ,wet clothes in the washer a sink full of soaking dishes when she never goes to bed with a sink of dishes ,no coffee in the coffee pot. Lot of things can make it look like you have been home for 2 days, including last log in on your computer.

meat defrosted in the fridge. a planner left on friday.

Could also mean the lights were still on; porch light and inside lights. I think most of us (women) leave things lit up when we are expecting to come home late at night, so we don't have to walk into a dark (hopefully empty) house alone.

Please, someone tell me what a civil docket is... wish I knew more about law.

StrayKat, All I can tell you is the little I know on it. We would get calls at the S.O., it might be something like Jane Doe borrowed my X box and I want it back, can you go and get it. Since it was not stolen, we could not go and retrieve it, we had to advice them it was a civil matter. Like small claims court is Civil. I however don't believe Divorce is a Civil matter, but not positive. I dug this up for you, hope it helps....Where did you see this? If I could look at it might be able to help?

Please, someone tell me what a civil docket is... wish I knew more about law.

A civil docket is a list of cases pending before a civil court. It is essentially a schedule that tells the judge and the plaintiffs and defendants what cases will be brought when. Cases are usually scheduled at least several weeks in advance, so interested parties can view the civil docket to determine what issues are being litigated at any given time.

Cases brought in civil court are private lawsuits between two citizens. In other words, no federal prosecutor or officer of the court brings cases in civil court. When official state action occurs, such as criminal court cases, the cases are normally brought in criminal court or in another division of the court system, such as tax court.

Civil courts are thus governed by laws detailing the duties people owe to each other. This is not to be confused with civil law systems. Civil law systems are those systems which do not rely on common law or judge made law. Civil courts can and do exist in common law jurisdictions, such as the United States and England.
