Also just caught something they said on here I had not caught before....they said when searching the pond in Spring Hill. The pond was behind the house that NH once "shared with a friend"..... That would be someone who could give much insight.... wonder who this friend is that he lived with, especially since he is a self proclaimed loner and drifter....

I remember VOH wanted to tell us that the day they were searching the pond. It came out that the tip police got was from an old neighbor that told them Nick used to live in that abandoned house by the pond. Makes you wonder why they were so certain she was in that pond and if they collected any evidence around there that day.

In the fayobserver.com the article "Investigators shift focus in search for missing soldier, Kelli Bordeaux" from Saturday 4/28/12 includes: "was last seen at 1:20 a.m. April 14 when she left Froggy Bottoms bar on Ramsey Street."

The stmt indicates she was last seen at 1:20a.m. (interesting that the time is so specific). If I recall correctly, in the NH booth interview he said sometimes around 1:00- 1:30 that KB said she was tired and ready to go home. We've been discussing the possibilities of the time she left FB with various speculation scenarios.

Would you agree that the statement she was last seen at 1:20 is a fact? Or not?

I noticed that too. I also noticed that in some articles Nick says 1:20 and in others he says 1:00 or 1:30. I have only heard Nick and media give those times. Not LE.

Maybe the muddy sneakers(or boots) had the smell of death if around decomposing material. But, why leave them at the bar, rather than ditching them? Or were they found hidden in the woods?

I've been following all along, but I can't remember where the info about muddy boots came from...and I apparently have no searching skills...TIA

Here's the video. Muddy sneakers around 2:25 min mark on this 2:51 min. long video report dated April 19 from ABC11 news. Stench mentioned too.

Thanks for helping a girl out - I didn't see if until after I completed my search tho! I'm trying to do three different things at once.

Thanks for your replies. Just my attempt to try and nail down a fact or two.

It would be interesting to know more about the house near the pond and the friend.
Was it mentioned if the friend was male or female?

Will just continue prayers that Kelli is located and the person responsible is charged.

Hello guys, you are quite an insightful group. I've been lurking for a few days and am quickly picking up the majority of the details you all have put together. I am a local soldier so I can answer some questions about the area if need be. I drove by the bar and apartment area today to get a feel for the area. My sister used to live in Meadowbrook when she was stationed at Bragg.
So I have a question for you all: Is anyone running with an option for Kelli to be alive?

There is always HOPE.
Although, the statement from the police about her being in danger does not help.

I'm really hoping that LE will start focusing more on finding Kelli and less on finding her phone. What are the chances of finding a cell phone VS finding a body? Wouldn't you think hiding a cell phone would be much easier than hiding a body? It's seems as though they are more focused on getting specific DNA from that phone. I know this is important to the case but you would think the focus would be on finding Kelli first and then the phone. I don't understand why they haven't searched other ponds.

BBM

I'm worried as to the significance of trying to find her phone vs. finding Kelli. That doesn't sound positive at all :(

Above is what MSM quoted Locklear as saying. I didn't remember hearing those exact words, so I went back and took a listen. I transcribed what his exact words were below.

http://yourlisten.com/channel/content/124581/Kelli_Bordeaux_PC_426

Locklear Starting at 3min 50 sec
"... After about a week and a half of investigative efforts by a number of different detectives at the police department and other people that are involved with the investigation, of course every day we hot wash the case we kind of go back, have a meeting every day at the end of the day, and with all the information and with all the evidence, whether it be physical evidence or testimonial evidence that we have received, all of that has lead us right back to this area as an area of concentration. You know a place that we want to really concentrate, and make sure it’s covered really well. So that’s kind of why we’re here. There is some other issues that keep us here that I’m not going to talk to you guys about for investigative reasons. And I’ve said this in the past you know some of that stuff we’re going to keep close to the vest. That’s pretty much why we are here, it’s because every day at the end of the day when we do the hot wash on the case, it brings us right back to this area...."

Thanks for giving us the expanded version of what I had noted. They both still mean the exact same thing!

Welcome Mook!

Justy,

As for the media report of KB departure time at 1:20am...honestly unless I saw it in some kind of investigative report, or a legal document, or verbally stated by an official in the case or KB's family (or by VOH), I would not consider it a verified fact. It might be. It might not be. I don't consider media reports to be verified facts because I know they can (and do) gets details incorrect. We've all seen examples of that.

Perhaps LE is hoping that if they find her phone that it will be close to if not at the same spot her body is.

Also I wonder if LE has checked the local pawn shops or craigslist ads to see if they turn up Kelli's phone. If the sim card were to be removed then someone might not know that it was her iphone they purchased second hand since it would only be identifiable by the serial numbers (which have not been released). AT&T and other carriers DO NOT check serial numbers on phones against their customer info to see if it has been reported lost or stolen which is one of the reasons iphones are such a prime target for theives. Just take the phone into a store, ask for it to activted with a new sim card and wa-la, the fact that it was stolen effectivelty disappears into no mans' land.

Welcome to the Thread Mook, jump right in with any ideas or suggestions. The idea of KB taking off has been discussed but I believe for most it is way down at the bottom of most folk's list of possibilities.

Thanks for your comment Madeleine. I am seeing that time repeated by various media sources but have not seen it stated by LE. I have first hand experience with media getting it wrong in my previous job so I agree that the media reports often mis-state, embelish and omit facts.

What happened? Did anybody experience problems connecting to WS for awhile?

I often wonder if maybe, just maybe, she is being held hostage. I havent wanted to say anything about that feeling. But with the way LE is keeping this case close to the vest, I guess anything is possible. JMO. And has me wondering. :moo:

Hope is always a good thing to have and I don't want to dampen anyone's hopes. However, I'm a realist, and it does not appear that KB left the area and certainly not voluntarily.

Unless she's been locked somewhere, with enough food & water to last 2+ weeks, I don't think she's alive. If she's being held hostage, then why hasn't the perp asked for anything or made any contact? The whole point of a hostage is to get something in exchange for the person(s) you're holding.

LE is looking for a body. In lieu of that they're trying to find anything (her phone, her clothing, shoes...anything).

These cases with missing adults usually don't end up with a live victim. Yes, I know Elizabeth Smart was alive, but she was kidnapped by a religious nutcase who wanted to collect a bunch of young virgin mormon wives. And yes there are people still holding onto believing that little Kyron Horman, 2 years later, is being secretly held/raised by someone his stepmother gave him to, instead of murdered.

Realistically, I think the outcome looks grim for Kelli. A kidnapping or hostage scenario doesn't make much sense when the perp she was last seen with is in jail, and no one has contacted anyone for money or anything.

Someone could be holding her somewhere against her will. Elizabeth Smart survived an abduction and is alive and well today. I noticed she spoke on behalf of missing persons the other day to encourage keeping hope alive. It's a long shot but possible. What do you think?

Based on everything her family has said about Kelli, I'm certain she didn't leave of her own free will.
