One thing I've learned through following many cases and trials: It does no good to imagine what the perp might have been thinking

Totally agree & I would further widen this to say it does no good to imagine what anyone might have been thinking, including the victim, their spouse, family, friends or anyone tangentially involved. It is simply unknown what is in someone's mind unless they tell you and unless they are completely honest.

Anything else is projection of our own thoughts, feelings, biases onto people we do not know.

VOH-

Did you ever see KB smoking at Froggys? Are a lot of the regulars smokers? Any chance that KB /NH went out back at MN to smoke, they were out there alone, then something happened?

Did you ever see NH, owner or someone wearing boots like the ones found?

What military guy found the boots, ... not the same one who told us about the texts?

I believe that I read Froggys has no basement,.. is there an attic?

What time does the bar open?

Any chance, NH has bar keys?

Yep, the even if was a dead body, it wouldn't have a stench that soon.

there is almost always a stench behind bars. It comes from old, stale, soured beer

Not sure, but then after LE searched behind the bar those muddly boots turned up, so who knows.

mamamia, I'm not sure about that. If a dead body rests anywhere it can leave fluid behind and that can result in a stench developing. So, three or four days later there could be a smell as a result. I'd think dogs would hit on that though so :waitasec:. Don't understand the whole stench alert.

The reporter said 'sneakers' you guys. Muddy sneakers. Just a little detail.

vibert, do you mean eliminated beer (like pee)?

I got ya, SNEAKERS lol. And if the stench was reported the next day, it wouldn't be the body that was smelling. I just don't think that it's possible in one day, but I stand corrected if someone knows specifics on this.

Yes..And don't forget JOSH POWELL!! The Psycho! He played innocent into the cameras and look what he did. I am assuming that they asked Nick to take a polygraph. Either Nick declined to take one or he took it and failed IMO. Because if he took it and passed, I think they would say that he passed the poly. They can't use the Poly in court so I don't think that they would tell the media if he failed. Just a guess though.

Just fyi, I never for one minute thought Josh Powell was innocent. Why couldn't LE ever get ahold of that guy? Then his father's darkness was exposed too. JP's was an unbelievable story - taking his two little boys camping in the middle of night on a weeknight - forgetting he had work the following day and finding his wife gone within that timeframe. Please!

My being is not shouting that loudly at me telling me NH's story could not be true - not yet.

Evening fellow sleuthers. Has anything significant (or insignificant) developed or been announced today either related to evidence or to locating Kelli?

Although I believe Nick is the perp, I agree with you. I did have some doubt in the beginning with Nick but never any doubt with JP. May his beautiful children RIP with their momma:(

Earlier this morning I checked the two NC news sites most active in the case and there was nothing about Kelli that I could see (maybe there was something if I had drilled down). Feels like the case is slipping off the radar; of course I feel confident that there must be a lot going on behind the scenes. Any searches still happening or planned?

I think the police have very specific reasons for searching the areas they are searching which we are not privy too.

http://www.fayobserver.com/articles/2012/04/26/1173824?sac=fo.local

"After about a week of investigative efforts, with all of the information and evidence - physical and testimonial - it brought us back to this area,'' said Jeff Locklear, a detective with the Police Department. "And there are some other reasons.''
He did not elaborate.

Above is what MSM quoted Locklear as saying. I didn't remember hearing those exact words, so I went back and took a listen. I transcribed what his exact words were below.

http://yourlisten.com/channel/content/124581/Kelli_Bordeaux_PC_426

Locklear Starting at 3min 50 sec
"... After about a week and a half of investigative efforts by a number of different detectives at the police department and other people that are involved with the investigation, of course every day we hot wash the case we kind of go back, have a meeting every day at the end of the day, and with all the information and with all the evidence, whether it be physical evidence or testimonial evidence that we have received, all of that has lead us right back to this area as an area of concentration. You know a place that we want to really concentrate, and make sure it’s covered really well. So that’s kind of why we’re here. There is some other issues that keep us here that I’m not going to talk to you guys about for investigative reasons. And I’ve said this in the past you know some of that stuff we’re going to keep close to the vest. That’s pretty much why we are here, it’s because every day at the end of the day when we do the hot wash on the case, it brings us right back to this area...."

Maybe the muddy sneakers(or boots) had the smell of death if around decomposing material. But, why leave them at the bar, rather than ditching them? Or were they found hidden in the woods?

  • #214
I've been following all along, but I can't remember where the info about muddy boots came from...and I apparently have no searching skills...TIA

Sorry, no. Nothing new. Where is Kelli? :please:

Not that we, the public, have been made aware of.

Not that I have heard or read anywhere.

Wish they would at least identify the friend and if he was still in the area.

Also just caught something they said on here I had not caught before....they said when searching the pond in Spring Hill. The pond was behind the house that NH once "shared with a friend"..... That would be someone who could give much insight.... wonder who this friend is that he lived with, especially since he is a self proclaimed loner and drifter....

In the fayobserver.com the article "Investigators shift focus in search for missing soldier, Kelli Bordeaux" from Saturday 4/28/12 includes: "was last seen at 1:20 a.m. April 14 when she left Froggy Bottoms bar on Ramsey Street."

The stmt indicates she was last seen at 1:20a.m. (interesting that the time is so specific). If I recall correctly, in the NH booth interview he said sometimes around 1:00- 1:30 that KB said she was tired and ready to go home. We've been discussing the possibilities of the time she left FB with various speculation scenarios.

Would you agree that the statement she was last seen at 1:20 is a fact? Or not?
