yes, that jumped out at me as well, I think it was mentioned in articles discussing the civic leaders and the $75,000 and was another reason I thought "Man, they are sure going all out here, they want these folks apprehended something fierce."

:what:This to me suggests a larger operation (possibly a suspected underground ring) rather than all the intense manpower and resources employed for a single isolated case...not to mention the astronomical reward, unsurpassed in recent Phila. hisory!:rocker:

Does anyone else have an eerie feeling that at least one person involved is reading this?

Yeah, but I get that feeling with almost every case I follow at some point so I tend to brush it off.

If they can narrow it down to one city block, they can narrow it down to one house. They HAVE to know who did this... Those perps have to be trembling in cold sweats with the thought of LE closing in. Either that, or they just threw out a random block that may or may not be correct hoping they will relax and make themselves known.

Just a thought I'm not sure if anyone has suggested this...I'm new at posting so please grit your teeth with me if needed :( ... Maybe they've had an idea for a bit and have been watching and listening for the perps to make another move... I think it was the Sierra Lamar case where they sat on the monster for a few to see where he may of led them??? ... Correct me if I'm wrong... I get the feeling also that this is much closer and bigger than the family even suspects or the community expects... Hope justice is served quickly.

There has to be at least one person out there that knows Chelsea. Not a peep from anyone. She might be in danger and I should drop it. Secretly though, I won't.

I'm jumping in here, not caught up but I wanted to say that during just about every commercial break the local news it's reporting different blurbs about this case, the latest is that police are closing in on a suspect.

Finally, there is some movement in this case and they seem to be closer to zeroing in on the perps:great:

a belated :welcome5: to you chickenboxer8 :)

I agree with you that LE may already be "sitting" on their suspect(s) right at this moment.

I truly feel hopeful that at least one arrest is imminent.

And as others have mentioned above, for LE to be giving that block as their area of focus publicly, means they've been sitting on it for a while prior to releasing that info.

crossing my fingers.

Well folks, much as I'd like to stay up ande hope for breaking news I must get some sleep. 6:30 comes early.

I want to wake up and find pages and pages of posts about an arrest to wake up to.

Talk radio I hear this:

They are now focusing on a particular block of Lrchwood.

Ummm why?

Also the third "suspect" someone possibly named China.

I'm sure y'all have discussed it. I didn't get a chance to read the thread.

Who is China?

What block of Larchwood?

repeating others, if that is your opinion as well, is no crime here chickenboxer, sometimes there is consensus on an idea, sometimes not. Either way, glad to have you join us :)

pages 28 and 29 discuss the Larchwood development I think, and China is the teen.

We think N has been providing more details to LE :) They now have a description of the teen we heard about the day N was found. Apparently she was referred to as China. http://abclocal.go.com/wpvi/story?section=news/local&id=8971114&rss=rss-wpvi-article-8971114

Captain John Darby of the Special Victims Unit said police are looking for a teenage girl who may be named "China" or "Chyna."

That teen was described by the victim as being a 14 to 17-year-old light-skinned black female. The victim also told police the teen was in the house where she was held after the kidnapping.

It is not known what, if any, role the teen may have played in this case.

Hey wow, you guys went a whole new thread. Nice job guys ! Well I'm trying to catch up and it looks like there could be some news very soon. I hope so.
As for the FGM , I sure hope that is not the case. I'm going to just throw that out there and it could be totally wrong, but it's got me wondering. I know several muslims and I know that they are big on arranged marriages, at least in some countries. I know that it does happen in the US but not sure if it happens to the same extent as in other countries. IF indeed FGM is an issue, is it possible that an arranged marriage might be in the works and one party or the other backed out? I'm talking about for way down the road in 10 or 15 years, the marriage. My understanding is that sometimes they can be arranged far in advance because of different family histories. My son will marry your daughter type of thing. So maybe there was an arranged marriage, one party or the other broke it off, so to speak and so the other party decided to ....... well , make it so that any future suitors would be turned away . :( Geez, I just hope that is not the case. Please if anyone knows better , correct me. I'm merely guessing and admittedly know very VERY little about it. TIA

light-skinned black female.

Hmmm, exactly what color? How light?

You know I am just messing throwing back to all our discussion the other night on skin color.
