I'm still puzzling on the grandfather's recent statements which appear to completely fly in the face of all info provided by LE and for that matter his daughter.

smh

I can't get past this inconsistency. It is just so very night and day from all the known facts.

I would really love for a local of this neighborhood to join the conversation.
We may have said a thing or two that should be straightened out.
Who better than a true local.
I grew up in 70's Frankford. So technically I am just Philly local..
Come and join the conversation!

I agree. I'm confused.

thank you Maureen, looks like FOX scooped all the other media on this one.

"She's healing," said the child's grandfather, a local leader in the Muslim community. He told reporters the child was doing better, but continued to insist the kidnapping was random.

"A sex fiend, a maniac, a vampire, a demon that just preys on innocence," said Imam Asim Abdur-Rashid.

Ramsey says police have not discussed the sensitive details of the girl's captivity because they are trying to protect the child and crack this case.

Muslim leaders say if it takes a million dollars or a million prayers, an arrest will come.

Praying..

Brave girl, So glad her mom is strong!

Someone may have speculated about this thought earlier - would it be possible that whatever injury the child had could have taken place BEFORE the abduction? She was absent from school for several days prior to the day she was taken. I believe it was a Th & Fri she was not at school, and she was taken on a Monday, no? Could this be an elaborate way to deflect attention from where/when/how that injury happened? These are purely hypothetical questions. But I would imagine a thorough medical examination would be able to pinpoint at least the timeframe of when an injury ocurred, depending on where on the child the injury was. Maybe? I am just thinking out loud here....
Since N is a verbal 5 year old I'm sure during her interview LE questioned her as to who, what, when, where and how she sustained her injuries. I don't think a child of that age would lie or go along with a story that was fed to her.

I absolutely love the resolve of these Muslim leaders. I just pray an arrest comes before any other children are hurt.

These unexplained absences are another "just so happened" piece to this odd puzzle, that may or may not be significant...but I must say, I like the way you think. Leave no stone unturned.

Why is grandfather so convinced the crime was random? From the start police have been saying this child was targeted.

There has been far less concern raised about the other children still in the clutches of these sadistic perps. For me, I am most hoping :please:, at this point, that the increased reward will generate leads that will rescue those that are left in harms way. As for N, the physical aspect of her torture is over but what might these children continue to endure while the search goes on...If N went through a horrid experience in 1 day, imagine their suffering. Just an awful thought :moo:

I typed this then lost it:banghead:so here goes again...

I agree that LE probably questioned her about everything. My concern is that she may not have been forthcoming even though they asked the questions. IIRC she was interviewed at Children's Alliance. These are specially trained forensic interviewers (therapists) who do the questioning. LE is in a separate room and the interview is taped. LE have the opportunity to direct the conversation through the interviewer. They DO NOT push the children for info. (even in homicide cases) I know of several children who disclosed to their own therapists but not to the interviewer. I've even seen a 5yr old with an STD deny sexual contact.

I guess what I am saying is what if their is physical evidence of an assault but she doesn't disclose anything to the interviewer? LE would have asked but it doesn't mean she answered. The sketchy details we have may be because it's all LE has. Traumatized children are much more apt to discuss the physical attributes of the perp, but when it comes to the more personal details they often hold back. (IE:sexual assault). The other aspect is that children don't have a sense of time or distance and do not have fully developed brains to interpret the situation the way an adult would.

IMO he wants to deflect things away from a personal nature :moo:

I like the way you think outside the box. This is definitely possible and something I had not thought of.

Haha I read that and thought "vampires?" :waitasec: I know vampires and zombies are popular in the entertainment realm now, but I don't see him as a watcher of those types of shows.

...not to mention "repressed memory" often common among victims of traumatic events, particularly at a young age without sufficiently developed coping mechanisms.:twocents:
