I hope they block them from watching p o r n. I was once in the children's section of the library that had computers in it so people could access the internet. One of the kids (maybe 15) was watching live p o r n!!! I was like Holy Moly! I hope kids don't walk in here and see what's on the screen before I can go inform the librarian! I'll bet they figured out how to block certain things after that. lol

IMSI uses JPay as the private tech company that provides tablets, email communications, video visitation, etc. to inmates and they control the programming and security. Includes email communication services, video visitation, educational programming, music and games. Recently added some counseling resources. Families and loved ones of the prisoners also can apply to use JPay and send money to an inmate, etc. So IMSI contracts out the inmates' access to technology in relation to programming, access to sites, email communications, video visitation, financial dealings, and security.

Yes, the toilet looks extremely low to the floor, which wouldn't be fun, but I noticed the extensive railing system around the toilet and thought, oh, how nice. They don't want anybody to fall down and go boom.

In Pennsylvania, internet access is controlled by the institution. Inmates are not given access to the internet or unapproved software, or "network connection that is active."

An offender shall not be permitted to access IT equipment, except as listed in Subsection A.2.b. above, and an offender shall not be permitted to access IT equipment that: (1) contains a modem or is connected to a telephone line or a staff network. Offender access to this equipment is strictly prohibited regardless of whether or not the modem, telephone line, or network connection is active at the time the offender is accessing the equipment; (2) is connected to a network, except for computers designated and marked “For Offender-Use” that are approved for connection to an offender network, such as in education, library, or CI. I should have stated in my upthread post that he lost his daily shower privileges and could now shower every other day.

Good thinking! I'm wondering why they didn't do all of this, even with the sheath DNA. The FBI didn't figure out the murderer's DNA until Dec. 19. I'm definitely not criticizing them, as they know way more about all of this than I do. But it seems he could have tried something again a month later before they caught him, and doing as you suggested could have gotten his name (and thus his DNA to match the sheath) sooner. Maybe they were using forensic psychology to believe he'd have a cool-off period long enough? I'd love to hear all of your thoughts on this. JMO.

LE did test the knife sheath right away for DNA. They submitted it to CODIS where the murderer wasn't in the system. Thus began the journey to GGI, which is what eventually identified a potential suspect. They were also searching for the white Elantra they spotted in the area at the time of the murders.

It took hundreds of man hours to comb through CCTV footage and to obtain warrants for cellular and GPS data, SM accounts, Amazon, etc.

I think all LE involved did one he ll of a job considering the carnage and chaos they encountered and what little evidence he left at the scene. He was arrested in approximately 6 weeks. I don't believe LE would have gambled on a cooling off period, the murderer was an enigma and an unknown to them. Who's to say he wasn't going to go on another rampage?

Much respect to all of LE involved (MPD, CSI, IPD, FBI) who worked tirelessly and had this murdering psycho locked up quickly. They prevented him from killing EVER again. Had he not been arrested, I definitely believe he would have done it again and again until he was caught. He enjoyed it a lot.

Yes, and all at an outrageous $price tag$ I believe this murderer's family will somehow make sure to keep money on his account for these things. < even more financial hardship on them >

He will be able to video chat with Mother and Father, send texts, make calls, watch movies on his prison issued tablet, etc. I believe his Internet access will be severely restricted. Eventually when assigned to his permanent cell, I believe inmates can even purchase their own small TV's and other goods.

Even though these services are outsourced, they are still subject to monitoring by the DOC, which we saw happen in the Delphi case when the killer made numerous confessions to family members.

Good question, maybe they allow the pastor into an open space within the J Block? Or maybe the inmate(s) are taken to a special holding area?

I wonder if all types of religious affiliations are represented, it seems like they would have to be. IDK

I’m not sure it could have been processed any quicker. The sheath went from the crime scene to the local lab and a full male DNA profile was extracted. Which ultimately matched the now convicted quadruple murderer.

December 19th marked a break for the IGG investigatory work.

Also, I’m not sure I can recall another case where an IGG investigation was conducted so soon after the crimes and almost simultaneous to the traditional investigation.

I remember the early speculation that LE could have resorted to that so soon sparked some debate.
