Just reported on KATU that LE met with the groundskeeper today at Skyline to go over his timeline and what he may have seen or not. Looking for a link and I'll add it if I find one.

Maybe I'm wrong, but reading it this way conveys to me this is the first time they've done this. And that's completely mind boggling.

I was just going to post that I read this to mean that yesterday was the first time they had ever talked to him....

Gwen, do you think he'll have such an easy re-election if by the start of the school year they haven't made obvious progress in this case (i.e. an arrest) OR if (god help us) it turns out Terri may NOT be the one who took Kyron?

The general consensus here in Portland is that MCSO and Staton are doing a great job with a very difficult case. We are patient here and don't expect LE to solve difficult cases on our time schedule. As long as we can see they are still working on it--and I believe it is obvious they are--we are satisfied. Plus, Portland loves incumbents.

I believe this case will result in an indictment within the next month or so. I suspect TH, and possibly DS, will be charged for something, and the vast majority of Portland will not be surprised in the least.

The article states that -

"Investigators are talking to Stensen and checking his information against what they've gathered. They say they find him credible."

Doesn't say when they talked to him, could be recently or not.

But it does sound like the kind of info they were asking for at Tuesday's presser regarding Terri's truck.

I'm impatient so I video'd the newscast and put it on Youtube. I didn't see a link on KATU so I hope this is okay. My personal opinion is that this guy was interviewed early on by LE but they didn't have the information at the time about the possibility that the white truck was parked on the street and/or the access road. But who knows? I still have great faith in the investigation. With the piles of information they received, people to interview, records to search...it doesn't surprise me this guy is just now coming to light.

Katu now reporting that GK changed his timeline and he could have left skyline 8:45-9:00 am, also may not have noticed the truck because his attention was on mowing the soccer field. www.katu.com

But he padlocked the gate/fence AFTER he left. How could she have gotten into the road?

The chain and lock are at the point where the access road meets the paved ring around the soccer field. There would be no problem driving up the access road with the chain locked. You just couldn't drive onto the field.

Go look at the pictures.

ETA: Also, it would be impossible for the groundskeeper to have his eyes on the access road the entire time he was mowing. Physically impossible.

Yep, agree entirely. It's kinda chaos. Would it be nice to have everyone checked in and fingerprinted? Sure, but it just isn't practical. The fair would be over by the time you got everyone through the line.

Fingerprints aren't practical, but there's no reason to not have a sign in sheet and use it. jmo

" Something sciencey in the flowerbeds."

A poster, I believe it was Skylineneighbor, indicated that the K/ 1st Grade classroom is located right by those flowerbeds. When my kids were in those grades they planted seeds of flowers, and checked the results. They would keep a little log of the seeds' progress ( so sweet ) I would hazard a guess that the Skyline curriculum had this topic too. So, it was probably not directly connected to the Science Fair, but, yes, still "sciencey" ( love that word )...

Here is a picture of one of the flower boxes overlooking the soccer field. There were two or three. And yes, I imagine it was part of the science fair and kids were taken out with their chaperones/parents to view them.

I cannot imagine why anyone would think kids would be running down to the soccer field unattended before school even starts on a regular basis. Just because the groundskeeper thought they might, does not mean they did it all the time.

PPS schools have strict guidelines about not dropping kids off unattended before school. If parents were leaving their kids to run around unattended on the soccer field, there would be trouble. Teachers cannot supervise kids who show up early without their parents.

ETA: That second part about kids on the soccer field before school was not directed at your post, Liz. Just something I thought of when I replied to your post.

Sorry, but this is the time Kyron was last seen, I know it's probably nothing but I hope the groundskeeper was thoroughly investigated just in case. I hope not to offend anyone. JMO

ITA - I said this earlier, somewhere, but I get lost and can't even find my own posts round here, sorry... I think he helps to fill in the time line, as in, when he pulled up there was no other vehicle and when he left there was no other vehicle. However from the PC it was clear they were looking at the Horman's truck ON Skyline, while he would've been mowing (8-8:30) and on the access road after he left. I've yet to see anything that proves exactly what time Kyron vanished. He could've been easily taken from that access road anywhere from 8:50-10 or later from all the things I have read. In that case the GK would rule out nothing other than he didn't see it while he was there. Still could've been 5, 30, 60 or more minutes later. I don't think his statement contradicts what they know, but helps to shore up the timeline. I would think it might only take 2min to leave school with your own child. jmo

.

Thank you for the extra photo.. I know the one I posted didn't show it nearly as well and I completely failed to know how to describe the (obvious to me) class project going on in those beds.

Investigators must be very confident in the witness information they already have regarding that gravel access road and the sighting. Confident enough to not care about the groundskeeper stating he saw nothing.

Hmmmm...

I do not have the link, but somewhere there is one that said the warning bell rang at 8:35 and the final bell at 8:45.

I tried to access the Portland schools website for bell times, but I was unable to figure out how to get into there.

Maybe someone can.

Different schools can have different starting times. Some elementaries start at 9:00, some at 8:45, and some at 8:00. Depends some on the bus schedules. They try to arrange the schedules so they can "share" with the middle schools to save money. I believe Skyline starts class at 8:45, so that would be the second and final bell.

snip from article above
Stensen told a reporter earlier in the week that he cut the grass on the soccer field between 7:45 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. and never saw the truck on the road.

snip
Stensen told investigators that he left Skyline School as late as 8:45 a.m. or 9 a.m., which means he could have missed seeing the Horman truck being in the two spots investigators are interested in, especially since he spent his time and attention at the school mowing the soccer field

Even if he didn't see a truck, his would be visible so why would she think it clear to go up there? Especially if he was there until closer to nine, as he now says.

Her timeline just seems too tight; especially now that she has been confirmed in the 2nd store; she had to have left by 8:50 or at the latest. All of this is just mind-blowing and nothing against LE but I really don't think they have much more as far as evidence. They may have more people we don't know about or more e-mails about Kaine, but if they are spending time on parking cars at this point, I am a little nervous.

Unless he has some sort of notes he's referred to since the initial interview, I wonder if the police convinced him he was initially wrong about the time? If so, a good defense atty would have a field day with the discrepancy.
