Yes us ole farts can still do stuff. LOL I golf, swim, jumped out of planes (twice) swam with stingrays and swam with sharks. We have got this LOL I swim on an average of 2-3 times a week. I am not talking floating or treading. I cant do the 50 laps required when I lifeguarded but I can still do 25 at 61. Kudos to this team. Amazing. Isn't knowledge power?

...lol! Yes... I quite understand.
But that cave diving is a whole 'nuther beast.
And being in a different country, different food, keeping stamina up under stress.
Just too impressive for words.

Commander Glenn McEwen from the Australian Federal Police team says the biggest challenge was “moving approximately 20 tonnes of equipment...it was a collective effort (by the international support team)”: pumps, medical equipment, air.

Terrific reporting by @jamesmassola on two Aussie heroes, Dr Richard Harris @drharry64 & Craig Challen, who, among so many others, made the rescue of the Wild Boars at #ThamLuang a reality. CD

The Rock.
Do you know who he is?

Oh, yeah... thx! Now I kinda remember his name too.
btw, I didn't know who Elon Musk was either.
Guess I lead a sheltered life in Japan! lol.

Sounds like the coach is doing well! Not really finding much more on him other than this so far.

search - rescue - return >> mission complete :D

An announcement from the hospital, all the boys and their coach are physically and mentally healthy, no need to be worried :)

John Volanthen, reached the end of his line, fastened it in the mud, and emerged from the water to find 13 pairs of eyes staring at him.
Had Mr. Volanthen’s line been 15 feet shorter, he would most likely have missed them.

That was the first of a string a miracles that made this whole thing one, huge colossal worldwide miracle.
Who knows what would have happened to them, if they had to wait another day. Some may not have made it through.
I think it was the SEALs who elatedly tweeted that they don't know if this successful rescue was a miracle or science...
I say both! And a lot of damned hard labor.
Lots of science and engineering, and muscle. But then none of those is what kept the normal monsoon rains at bay.
The mind boggles.
The mind happily boggles.

Did anyone else's livefeed from Reuters go blurry?
It's only streaming from outside the hospital, but I found it really relaxing to watch the lunchtime traffic...

I finally slept last night. 10 peaceful hours without nightmares of caves. I’ve never had anything effect me so deeply. This thread has been full of such positivity and love, despite the dire situation they were in everyone kept each other positive and what a wonderful ending!
It’s been a pleasure getting to know you all and following this case with such an amazing group of caring people!
