Update from Thai government
The same divers who rescued the first four boys will also conduct the next operation as they know the cave conditions and what to do, said Thailand’s interior minister.

In comments released by the government, interior minister Anupong Paojinda said officials were meeting on Monday morning about the next stage of the operation and how to extract the remaining nine people from the cave in the country’s north.

Anupong said divers need to place more air canisters along the underwater route to where the boys and their coach are trapped. He said that process can take several hours.

He said the boys who were rescued on Sunday are strong and safe but need to undergo detailed medical checks.

I wonder when they actually started? I need to reset my alarm. There's no way I can keep my eyes open for 8 more hours.

"The decision to add more British diving experts to the mission was made after Narongsak Osotanakorn, the former governor of Chiang Rai who heads the rescue mission, announced evacuation would begin yesterday. The governor announced a “back-up plan” to dive out the 12 boys and their football coach should the monsoon rains resume before other options could be used to rescue them from a muddy rock shelf in the Noen Nom Sao cave, which is situated 2.5 kilometres inside the larger Tham Luang cave system."

How are you feeling? Good to see you back. :)

Keeping faith and hope that the divers will do their job, and the boys will listen and come out alive! What a story of the adventure they'll have to tell for generations to come. If that's the type thing their culture would do of course. Prayers for all involved for a safe and effective trip today!

I am so glad the same divers can do it. They probably learned some things.

I hope the caves are sealed. Otherwise there will be people trying to do dangerous thngs in there

I am having tech difficulties, so reporting from my tv, per CBSN livestream on youtube app. Will find online link for you.

(Paraphrasing):
(*eta: edited/removed misinformation re: coach coming out)

We don't know much about their condition but know they arrived.

Their families were not able to spend much time with them bc the helicopter took off in 2 minutes.

Second attempt (paraphrasing):

"The operation begins this morning...the reason for lag in time is bc they basically have to gave back and replace all of tanks along the evac route...canisters strategically placed so they can replace their o2......if somethings happens in the cave they need to have enough of o2 in the cave to keep everyone alive...long journey that takes about 6 hours to get back to the boys.

(Sirens)

This might take place over the course of 2 to 4 days, very labor intensive effort...right now sunny, clouds in the dstance, lucky for 3 days in a row bc it was abnormally dry...taking this window of opportunity...had several downpours in the last few hours...discussing race against time against weather.

There are parts that are still very flooded.

Obviously a lot that could still go wrong."

Unfortunately they're talking about turning it into a national park and main tourist attraction. They talked about this before they even got any boys out of the cave. Sad.

it is somewhat daunting that a pro did not make it i think today was a super related to a dry week

i dont think there can be any real way ( deep inside) to ascertain what the rains earlier have done deep inside it would take hours for it to leak down from the surface above the whole channel

it seems like there would be almost like a point of no return by that I mean if they get 3 hours in and deep inside the water soaking down from the surface had three hours to go down and they find the pocket holes for lack of a better word much more full do they just turn around a come all the out with noone

i found weather forecast but i cant find a radar that is current over the area to see what is happening rain wise right now

the coverage is actually getting nuttier I learned a short while ago that it is now daylight we should be getting new on the ground reports but now a lot of folks are doing packages from like yesterday

it also seems very manipulative this time lots of links are doing live links that are not live

I see what you mean about the seepage, and it is no doubt a concern -- but I am trusting that they have better pumps now to deal with it ... I hope - but frankly, I haven't heard. Hopefully then, from some lovely billionaire philanthropist who does not want publicity.
Also, my thinking, and I may be wrong - but I think they're just fed up with the media getting in the way; so they finally just said Go Away! If so - good on them! As much as I'd like to have every detail, and every detail confirmed -- the media being there all over the place, it's probably about as welcome as a group of sweaty reporters and cameramen inside a sterile surgery operating room.
This truly IS a delicate operation. All concentration and every expended effort must go into getting these boys out alive.
The media can sit and eat donuts for all I care - just as long as these boys are brought out alive and safe.
I truly truly feel that in my heart.
Whatever it takes.
This must succeed.

3 boys and coach confirmed.

Per CBSN livestream.

Because he gave the kids all his food and water and was suffering from malnutrition so that's why he came out.

Sirens..

The coach isn't one of them. That was a mistake by the media. CBSN is playing a rerun and adding live updates.

This sign from the school that six of the boys attend makes me smile.

Learning English with the boys from the cave. Just in case. A sign at Mae Sai Prasitsart School, where six of the boys are students. #dpareporter #Thailand #ThaiCaveRescue
