I am so very happy that another 4 are out and in hospital. They are shutting down now. Will go in again tomorrow. With 5 more to come, wonder if they'll get them all out tomorrow?? Sure hope so.

You can have conscious sedation, which I suspect was used. You are not intubated, you just don't feel pain, can react to orders i.e. assist in movements and you are only sedated, not unconscious. It would prevent panic, make them very easy to manoeuvre and allow them to turn, pull, walk etc.
Its usually Versed, sometimes a mix of a few other things. Used very widely as it is very, very safe. Its no accident that the diver who did the medicals is an anaesthetist.

These details will come out later, in a book or an announcement. IMO

Versed affects children differently than adults. It is quick acting, like 25-45min from administration until the hypnotic effect wears off. After that for the following 1-4 hours the child will be irrationally angry and clumsy as a drunken sailor.

TheBBC link confirms that the last four boys and coach will be rescued Tuesday.

'Four more rescued' from Thailand cave

This is great news! I hope it is truly possible to get this done by then.
Thanks, Shire!

I think there are still 5 on the ledge.

I think the four in chamber 3 are the four who have got out today.

Nothing will happen now until tomorrow.

So get some sleep!! :p

Very true and nausea and vomiting could follow. Imagine vomiting while not fully conscious in a full-face diving mask while being pulled through mud for 5 hours. <modsnip>

Reposting link as it states unconfirmed reports that four more have been rescued.

Lots more info about the boys and the rescue method used.

Also there were problems with the media . This is posted in the feed by BBC

9.55 a.m GMT

Media complaints

Rescue officials have complained about the behaviour of some of the hundreds of media personnel covering the rescue, accusing some outlets of hacking into authorities' radio frequencies and publishing inaccurate information. They also accused another media outlet of flying a drone, which they say affected the take-off of a rescue helicopter.

Like I said before this is absolutely ruthless behaviour by those reporters! I hope they got who did this and threw him out.

It's only 8:43pm here. I'm here for the duration

But it's over for today :)

The news of 8 out now is wondrous !

I join the world in prayers for each and everyone out of that cave.

Namaste,

We missed you Zen! :)

Can you imagine how they're going to feel when they hear they are going to be incredibly special & celebrated guests at the World Cup finals? :)

I'm sure they know that already! I hope they are fit for that, they might not be after this ordeal. We'll see I guess.

Are they really in chamber 3 or are they still stuck way back beyond the terrifying U turn choke point?

No all 5 are still in the original spot is being reported now.

Its so interesting the culture difference in Thailand. I have noticed in the live link that I think is near the hospital that so many people riding by on motorcycles and mopeds. Cars come by too but lots and lots of motorcycles.
Some women driving them and some women behind a man riding double.

I suppose many cannot afford an automobile and so they get mobility by using motorcycles. I have seen other cities in the world have lots of motorcycles too.

In the US we mainly have automobiles on the road. In Thailand the percentage of motorcycles on the roads is much greater than US. I am guessing it is due to cost and affordability.

I hope our two British hero divers are still fit enough to do the trip 5 times tomorrow. Really these guys deserve a medal for bravery. But I'm sure a hug from the boys will feel even better to them.

Also, yes the doctor who saw them is an anesthesiologist but according to someone in an interview I posted yesterday there are only about 300 divers in the world who could even make that particular cave dive. I’d imagine that most are professional divers, not doctors. The original British team requested him specifically.

It's the same here in India. Bikes also get you faster through the chronically congested traffic. We don't have a car either, only a bike.

300 divers who could do the dive, but only 10 in the world who could do the rescue, iirc.

Same with Pakistan. It was a bit surprising at first, but then I saw the practicality-- far much more maneuverable and inexpensive.

Okay gang, I am off to bed. See you all in a few hours when we will see the rest of our Wild Boars safely out of the cave! Thanks for all the great posts tonight!

Looking at the live feed I think there's going to be a press conference, looks like the media have their cameras aimed at a desk/podium/whatever it's called...

ETA wish someone would straighten up that purple tablecloth...

Many of the vehicles in the US are opposite of a motor bike- huge SUVs for what seems like a majority of the time I see 1 or 2 people in lol

Happened to me one time and I almost die! It wasn’t a full face mask fortunately! Awful, just awful. Anyways, so glad four more kids are safe, and hail to the suman spirit.
Very true and nausea and vomiting could follow. Imagine vomiting while not fully conscious in a full-face diving mask while being pulled through mud for 5 hours. They didn't get any Versed. They may have received a benzodiazepine.

Actually - I was saying people are probably getting annoyed with my (kind of odd) Miracle posts ...
And no, nobody would ever get annoyed with Zenny! ❤️
Your posts are uplifting and beautiful. They make me feel warm and like there is goodness and kindness

Good point about the congested streets too. Some of the asian cities are very chaotic in the big cities.

It makes sense. In NYC nobody hardly has a car that travels into Manhattan due to congestion. Its the subway mainly or taking cab is very common.
