The reporting on this story is complete garbage. The last two headlines are: "Thai divers make little progress in murky cave." (18 min. ago) and "Hopes rise as divers progress toward soccer team in Thai cave" (55 min. ago). o_O

I noticed that too. When you click on the article look at the date it was written. That’s what I’ve had to do to know which one is more accurate for the current time. Supposedly they are expecting Little to no rain up until Wednesday. I hope this is true.

It’s just now 6:00 am there. The reporting should start picking up in a couple hours.

Not sure how up to date this is. Thirty five teams of experts are working to rescue the boys.

I think a lot of the poor reporting is just poor translation. A ex colleague is married to a Thai girl so I see her Facebook posts, in Thai, when she tags him, and her family / friend replies. If I’m being nosy and click the auto-translate button they usually make little sense. Easy to see how a lazy reporter could make 1+1=3.

I think a major part of the problem is so many sources are copying/publishing reports that are already outdated. moo

I've only learned of this event yesterday, on edge and antsy, checking for updates every 20 minutes, and I am so stressed -- I can't even imagine feeling like this for the past eight days! So glad this thread is here, thanks to all who have been posting.
This reminds me of the Chilean miners, only somehow even more emotional. (The children factor, I suppose?)
I am maintaining faith that these families will experience a miracle.
The dedication and grueling hard work of these wonderful rescuers will reach the boys, and the Merciful will deliver them alive.

There will be celebration in Mae Sai!

Divers With Extra Supplies Advance in Thai Cave Passageway
Rescue divers are advancing in the main passageway inside the flooded cave in Thailand where 12 boys and their soccer coach have been missing more than a week.

Rescue divers are advancing in the main passageway inside the flooded cave in northern Thailand where 12 boys and their soccer coach have been missing more than a week.

Thai navy SEALs said in a Facebook post early Monday that divers since Sunday night had reached a bend where the kilometer- (half-mile-) long passage splits in two directions.

I am so anxious. And I am very worried because I would have thought there would have been some loud noises coming from the the area the boys might be trapped. I would think that noise travels, and the searchers would be sending out loud sounds to try and hear a response. I am just not ready for a tragic ending here. These boys deserve a long and happy life....

After almost a week of worrying I can't imagine how their families are surviving. It has been horrible and we don't even know them but I've cried several times.

The one thing I cannot do is imagine what is happening to them at this minute. I just cannot allow myself to picture the possibilities. Too sad...

I am hoping and praying that somehow the kids/coach heard the rescuers drilling, banging or something and it’s caused the kids to fight for survival. It still hasn’t been confirmed if the rescuers actually did hear the banging on the walls. Even if they did it’s possible they just heard another team working, but what if....

Still praying for a miracle. When this all ends either way I’ll be in tears. Kids do that to me.

Just posted:
Rescuers about to reach 'Pattaya Beach' chamber of Tham Luang Cave

SEALS are supposedly 500 meters from target destination!!! Hope this is true! Crossing fingers and praying!

From your link:

Earlier this morning, members of the medical team on site held a meeting with rescuers. They speculated that survivors would be exhausted and would not be able to join divers on a swim to safety. They resolved to send in food supplies and nurse them back to better health before making the return trip.

I had wondered if this might be necessary.

For sure. If they are alive they’ll be weak and exhausted. They’ll need to hydrate, eat and rest up for the trip out.

Not to mention the SEALS are going to need to rest as well.

If the kids aren’t there I think I’m going to pull all my hair out. It is so hard to be patient.

Thailand Cave Rescuers Report Progress in Search for Soccer Team

The governor told reporters that an army doctor, the only physician in Thailand who is also trained as a Navy SEAL diver, was at the scene and was prepared to enter the cave to treat any survivors before they are moved.

Experts have prepared special foods that officials say could help the boys and the coach recover after going hungry for many days.

“The food is similar to the food given to astronauts,” Mr. Narongsak said. “They can eat just a bit — but they will get nutrition, and it is high in protein.”

Rescuers also have been working on a plan to bring survivors, who at best would be very weak, out through the flooded cave.

“They have to be in stable condition to be ready to come out,” he said. “The doctor, who can dive, will go in to make an assessment and solve the problem for us.”
